Kitty's eyes widen as the vampire closes in. But once again before she can be grabbed, something happens. Suddenly she isn't there, but in her place is a three tailed fox. The fox darts forward and in between the vampire's legs to get away.

With a name like 'Kitty' I wasn't expecting a fox. Though I suppose she's a 'Kitsune', in which case 'Kitty' is a reasonable contraction to work as a name.

The vampire wasn't expecting that, and rolls upon landing before chasing after the fox- unless she can't see it, anyway, which is possible. Especially given all these trees to hid behind.

"About that... My shape-changing doesn't really include clothes so it's not really something I do often." She replies, faking a cough. "It's nice and hot in here though I never been near an active volcano all my life."

"Oh. Yeah, sorry. Didn't know." Harnel says, blushing and rubbing the back of his head.

"Yeah. There are times that I come in here that I feel like I could just fall asleep for weeks It's really nice. I think there might be some other volcanoes around too, but I haven't really looked for them."

"Yes, it's very nice... a bit secluded. For a while I used to live alone far away from any large settlement. I got lonely quickly and moved back to Hestopia where my family lives. Have you lived here long?" Cessie asks.

Harnel shakes his head.
"No, not very long at all. It's not too far from the cities, and I can fly so it's pretty nice."

"Why did you move away?"

[Harvil's Cave]

"I used to live there with my husband but when he died there really wasn't any point. I couldn't stand the loneliness anymore eventually." She sigh. "Sometimes it's just better to move on you know?"

He peers around and the young woman makes a little eep sound and moves away slowly. He didn't look like a bandit, ...Hello?

Adventure!

Huh.

That was very odd.

Perhaps there was bandits up there? "Watch out Alfred, it might be a trick!" The knight warns the boy, drawing her/his sword.

"Hello," he replies before giving turning back to his knight friend. "I think it's just a lady, sir. Well, I know it's a lady, but I don't think she's also a bandit."

Harnel glances at the roses outside.
"Yeah... I guess so." He looks back at Cessie and tries to give a reassuring look.
"Sorry about your loss."

Kitsune is indeed correct, though the reason I choose the name is it reminded me of a character's name in a book I ready. *nodnod*

The vampire will catch sight of three tails just as they dart behind a tree. . She will probably also notice the couple small balls of fox-fire, very similar to the fire breath, that are flying at her. They aren't particularly well aimed, so no more than one could possibly connect.

The Skin-Changer vampire throws her weight backwards, skidding along the floor on her hideously wrinkled rear and under the balls of fox-fire before jumping back to her feet and pouncing around the tree she saw Kitty's tails behind. Hopefully Kitty is there to be pounced on, as opposed to tree-teleporting to a different tree.

Alt-Cessie smiles faintly. "It's quite alright, it was years ago. I might miss him at times, but I'm over it now. Life have to go on doesn't it?"

"Yes. It does. So, now you study jumping planes, huh?" Harnel asks.

"Oh. Please, take a seat if you wish." Harnel says, motioning to the chair.

"Don't let 'someone else' tell you who you should like, okay? If you like him, just say so, in words. Not in confusing actions. If you don't like him as more than a friend, then you should apologize for kissing him, and tell him you don't return his feelings." Simple barbarian logic.

But.... How can I be sure I don't like him as anything more than friends? What if I've just been hiding my feelings? He's always been really nice. And he's good with the girls. They really like his cookies. she says as she paces back and forth.

Nope, tree teleporting isn't a thing Kitty can do. She still isn't behind the tree, however. If the vampire looks up, she'll see that somehow Kitty got up to a branch quite a bit higher than she should have been able to get to

Up is the first place the vampire looks when she realises that Kitty isn't behind the tree. She jumps up and starts climbing; she's surprisingly good at it- Skin Changer Vampires have slightly elasticated bodies so they can squeeze into the bodies of people much larger, or smaller, than they are and this helps her climb upwards.

Alt-Cessie raises an eyebrow but decides to take the offer, sitting down in the chair. "Yes, planar studies have always interested me. Did you know that there are countless alternative versions of every living being? There are a few exceptions but none of us are truly an original. There are just a lot of alternative versions of us." She explains. "...do you have anything to drink by the way? I'm rather thirsty."

"Really now? Interesting. So there are other versions of us out there, right now?"

Melody nods. Okay, momma. She hugs Turtle. I'll go look for him now. she'll try to kiss Momma on the cheek, before leaving.

"Indeed... oh, yes, water would be just fine thank you." Alt-Cessie says, befire glancing at him. "You're very open about this, inviting a plane traveling dragon into your own home so quickly. See? It sounds even more bizarre when you say it."

Happy watches her go, saying a prayer to Neirain that her daughter won't get her heart broken.

"Oh. Well, I guess you could say I've gotten lonely as well, though to be honest, I don't quite think of this as home yet. Haven't been here long enough I suppose."

Harnel returns with a glass of water.
"Here you are."

"Thank you." Cessie says with a smile before emptying the glass. Looks like she was pretty thirsty.
"I guess I need to look for some place to stay while I'm here though, anything you can recommend? They have inns and taverns here which you can stay at correct?"

"That's correct. I'd personally recommend Trog's, but there's also Black Dragon's Den if you prefer. The latter is a bit shady though." Harnel explains.

"Hmm... now that I think about it, I probably wouldn't want to sleep in a inn anyway. Surely there must be better places to sleep around here? I'm not exactly poor." Alt-Cessie states before she glances at the cave, suddenly regretting that choice of words. "...maybe I can pay you for a guided tour or something? You could be my escort."

Harnel admittedly looks a bit ashamed.

"Yeah... Yeah I could do that. I'd like that." Harnel says, excited at the prospect of having Cessie by his side for a whole day almost.

"Any idea where you might want to start first? Cities, organizations... something else?"

Up is the first place the vampire looks when she realises that Kitty isn't behind the tree. She jumps up and starts climbing; she's surprisingly good at it- Skin Changer Vampires have slightly elasticated bodies so they can squeeze into the bodies of people much larger, or smaller, than they are and this helps her climb upwards.

Kitty has her own tricks up her sleeve. The fox leaps, higher than she should be able to, up to the next branch. Then she propels herself horizontally to the next tree over.

"It like to see the cities first actually, then we could visit every organization in each city. It seems like it would sum up the place pretty well." Alt-Cessie replies. "Hopefully we can get something to eat too, I could eat a bear right now."

"We should probably start with Trog's then." Harnel says, standing and offering his arm to her, should she want to take it.
