We are part of Advenix, a starting mercenary group with two offices right now. They give us contracts, we fill them and get paid. they get a cut. They guys on the ground may or may not know who they are doing the job for. The next half of the job was to deliver the staff to Dagon Hamstringer in Saint Marcus. You can have the staff, but I keep my weapons, unless you agree to return them to our office in Saint Marcus. The others nod at this. I won't be coming back, it was hard enough getting out the first time. I wouldn't have come at all, except we had a contract.

Alright, I'll return your weapons to your office. And the clan will be notified that advenix has disturbed their resting place. Be out of town by dawn.

[INWranger]

They give you their weapons and the staff. There is some grumbling but the corporal silences them. They take their dead and leave.

Wait ten minutes after they're out of sight.cast a few healing spells to get up to full.

Use the copy paper on the staff and stow them both.take everything back to town and get a room for the rest of the night.

By the time you get back to town daylight has started. You are exhausted (really tired) and you fall straight into bed and sleep until afternoon.

Head out to greendale and find the head of clan redskin.

You find the Redskin Manor, a huge house on a hill. A butler answers the door. When you ask for the head of the clan he tells you This is the house of the clan, but the leader of it, who is currently our Matriarch is married to Dagon Hamstringer. You will find her in Saint Marcus. When he sees the puzzled look on your face he explains further. This families leadership is determined by who is the eldest blood descendant who was born a Redskin.

Thank the man and give a low bow. I have a matter of some importance to discuss with her. Thank you for your help. Go to Saint Marcus, but don't approach the Matriarch until I can be reasonably certain Dagon is not nearby.

After asking directions you find the house, a large home made of wood. After a couple hours someone who is undoubtably the master of the house walks out with a silver haired broad shouldered woman, kisses her goodbye and walks away.

After waiting another twenty minutes, Angus approaches the house and asks for the matriarch. When he gets an audience, he bows and says "Madam, I believe I recently have prevented the theft of a potentially powerful or meaningful object from your ancestral burial grounds. I have come to return this object to you, and deliver potentially graver news."

She says to you I did not expect you Advenix people to have such good manners. My husband and I have both been wondering when that staff would get here."

[madtinker]

Trying to not do a double take, "Ah, well that clears things up. You see, I am a cleric of Kord, not a mercenary. I saw those ruffians battling the guardians of the crypt and assumed they were up to no good. When I defeated them and learned what they had taken, I took it upon myself to return it to you, its rightful heir."

[INWranger]

Those ruffians as you call them have very good references from one of my friends and are professionals, even if they are new to the mercenary game. You did bring the staff instead of keeping it so you are no common looter. I will look the other way and try to persuade Advenix that it isn't worth it to take revenge on you. Anything else?

Just that they triggered the wards on the crypt, and they should be renewed to prevent desecration of the graves.

They reset on their own after awhile. Thank you for bringing the staff. with that she leaves you on the doorstep.

Bow as she closes the door, and make as if to head back in the direction I came. When I'm out of site of the house, I find a messenger boy to carry the weapons back to the Adventix HQ, and go to meet my employer.

The messenger boy staggers under the weight of the weapons, and demands 2 gold a piece, for a total of 14 gold.
Again, the halfling finds you. You have the copy skin I presume. Here is your fee. Now, we have one more job for you. Would you like to meet your employer now? It requires a blindfold, but you will not be hurt in any way,

With the clink of coin in his purse, Angus is in a good mood. "it would be an honor."

Also, Angus wants to find a place to buy a belt of strength (+2 for 4000 gp) and/or gloves/boots of dexterity (+1 for 1000 gp)

The hafling blindfolds you and leads you down a series of twists and turns. Then a creaky door is opened and you are taken down a passage that smells of old books. Finally the blindfold is removed and you are able to see your employer, a fairly young elf with the trappings of wealth. We meet at last Angus. I have another job for you. This one may require a little more finesse than your last one, but I think you can handle it. You get to go to the big city of Anterium and acquire a dagger that belongs to my Uncle, who currently resides in the maximum security portion of the cities prison. Do you accept, and do you have any other questions?

What is the pay? I assume you will want the dagger delivered here. Do I have any contacts there, how do I recognize your Uncle and how will he know that you sent me?

[INWranger]

Pay is 1000 gold. You will have whatever contacts you cultivate. Given how much you like to help people that should not be a problem for you. As far as recognizing my uncle, he is likely the only elf in maximum security. Beyond that, he has multiple scars, particularly five on the right side of his face that run parallel from ear to chin. He will know I sent you if you tell him I did. We aren't exactly on speaking terms, as he is in for murder. He has been in for a couple years now and would probably be glad of a visitor of any kind. You might ask for Saran, but he could have been booked under any name he used at the time.

Nod in acknowledgement, bow, and take my leave. If it is early in the day, I'll start out on the road now. If not, find a room and start early in the morning.

When you go to leave they insist on putting a blindfold back on you and then take you back to where the halfling found you. By this time it is late in the day. You find an inn and after some time notice a lovely, slender dwarf lass looking you over.

upon seeing your wink she picks up her own glass and comes to the table you are sitting at. She then asks What are you doing working for an elf like Valgris, when you could be working for my mistress Brianna Hamstringer?

I'll let you buy me a drink and I'll tell you who I think wink you are. The man, or dwarf in this case has overly flowery manners and a sense of right and wrong that goes beyond anything I have seen before or am likely to see again. Valgris looks for power any way he can get it and his favorite way to deceive is by omission. He won't have anything to do with any dirty work and so he has his hafling agent Oogy do all his contacting for him. You like to do things in an open manner and are almost a paladin when it comes to obeying the law.
