The ranged attacks on the archers have little success, but both Jorran and Magnus kill a goblin, among them the last one wearing plate, and Mirielle injures another one. This time, the ranks on the fronline aren't refilled with the goblins' reserves nearly depleted, and one of the Blues draws a glowing stone, summoning another mental assault from it at Magnus, but this one is noticably weaker.

The goblins' defensive line is finally breached when Jorran strikes down the goblin in front of him, and the archers are further reduced by Aya's steady stream of arrows. the fleeing goblins left clear traces of blood. From the right path they took you hear clear commotion and panic from 50 voices or more. There is a rather large room of natural rock, illuminated by some fires. It seems to be their common room, mostly filled with noncombatants far as you can see.

On the left hand is an double door of fine make, made of the same wood as the dam. Up ahead the path twists and turns, going deeper into the earth pretty fast.

On the goblins you killed you find

With a satisfied nod, Aya retreats down the hall, returning to the others. "Alright, looks like they're stuck there, along with their noncombatants. We can find what they've collected after, so let's finish them off while they're unprepared. I'll go a bit ahead and start sniping; the rest of you block the tunnel, and with a bit of luck, all the noncombatants won't panic and run toward you. Once I'm noticed, which probably won't take that long, I'll come back to you and we can finish the fight from there."

"Please tell me you mean you'll snipe at the ones we just fought, and not at their wives and grandparents." Mirielle says to Aya with one eyebrow raised. "Whatever the plan, it would be wise to do it carefully, as most of the protections I put on us have worn off by now."

Aya giggles, reaching up to pat Mirielle on the head. "Don't be silly, why would I waste arrows on people who can't fight back? Come on, let's go finish the job. Draw up in formation, and stay about fifty feet behind me; they might not notice your light that way. I'll see if I can knock out a blue for you, Magnus. Once we've got the leaders and the warriors down, the rest ought to listen to what we tell them."

Mirielle is not entirely reassured by Aya's response, but she doesn't mention it.

She looks around at the area her armor is illuminating and makes a quick estimation. "A little further than fifty feet, I think. This sheds quite a bit more light than a torch."

Aya shrugs, heading for the tunnel again. "They've got fires in the room, so they might not notice, but take the distance you need. Just don't get too far back; I don't want to end up surrounded."
