True Neutral with a heavy Chaotic leaning here. Might be best to just class me as CN actually given my Star Wars character's current state more or less mimic my own.

Well, I was actually kind of trying to imply Cassie is less than law-abiding, but yeah, putting it into alignment terms kind of works better.

I would say that Tasroth and Thufir beats anyone who's met on these forums and got married (Zeb and Alarra springs to mind) since Tasroth and Thufir are brothers.

Well, July 7th is still looking like our best bet but we're not going to get all of us together sadly.

I think this process of the mini-meets does raise a possibility - perhaps 2 summer large scale meets and those that can't make one can make the other? Maybe on in July and.....dunno....Sept 1st?

If July 7th is the best bet to get most people together, than that's cool. I'll just be back from my trip to visit my family in Sweden that week, so I can't take another day of holiday less than a week after I get back. that's why July 7th doesn't work for me.


Personally, I don't think having two summer meets will work, mainly because I think a lot of people won't be able to make both, which poses the risk of having neither of the meets to be well attended.
I'd rather have one big meet in the summer where most people can join, than two meets where no one makes it.
This is also a cost issue.
A lot (if not most) of the UK playgrounders are still in uni, and would therefore not be able to afford attending two meets, and I know for sure that I wouldn't be able to make two meets in just over a month and a half, especially since they will inevitably be down south.

I have exams this year. Big ones.
And then some time this summer I'm meant to be having a several doctor's appointments leading to an operation. So I can't promise anything.

And because we seem to be dithering more than usual, have some arbitrary decisions.

Meetup Location: Newcastle.
It's only three hours or so for Ku to drive, and eight to fourteen for me by public transport. The Northerners and Middlers don't have so far to travel, and for the Southerners: You won't have to travel as far as me.
Bonuses:
it's not London during the Olympic season.
Playgrounders live there. Free accommodation is probably quite likely.
enough people seem to be cautiously implying that they maybe might possibly be willing to go if it's the location
we have a Hell of a lot of Northerners who'd be more likely to make it than a really far South place
the North is stereotypically cheaper than the South

It means we get to go south for the winter. And in the winter I'm voting London in all seriousness.

One sorta compromisey possibility might be to arrange the accommodation as the meeting place and have it on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. At least some employed/studying/busy people should be able to get there on the Friday, even if they get there late, giving you at least Friday night, full Saturday from start to finish, most of the Sunday, and also Sunday night and Monday morning for the people who don't have to rush back to their responsibilities.

The thought of being in London during the Olympics is a wholly depressing one and yet pretty much inevitable for me, so a change of locale would be nice.

I also agree that poor Ku has been having to drive around way too much to get to these meet ups and the guy needs a break, so somewhere northern would not be an issue for me. Hell, I can just sit on the train with my PSP for a few hours. Of course, if I can reach said destination more cheaply via plane then that's all to the good.
