The Complete Warrior rules on losing prerequisites for a PrC apply to all books. This bothers me enough to sig it. If you disagree, please PM me, I'm down with being proven wrong.

My favorite part is how it looks like he's looking down at my body, sprawled on the floor in pain as it has slipped (like it does) and impaled itself on deadly, razor-sharp hydralisk spines of death and pain.

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
Heh, that reminds me of one of the more amusing things in the campaign:
When choosing which of the three upgrades to take for Hydras, the description for the +Range upgrade basically says, "Seriously, this is like the first thing everybody gets for Hydras anyways, so you might as well start with it"SpoilerBossing Around Mad Cats for Fun and Profit: Let's Play MechCommander 2!

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
SpoilerThat actually gets mentioned in the cinematic after Kerrigan rescues Jim from the prison facility.
Over the course of the whole campaign we pretty much see that everyone treats Kerrigan and the original Queen of Blades as different people. Including herself. Abathur in special does this.

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
Boo! BOOOO!!! False Advertising!
I got the achievement, with 3 minutes to spare. And they totally didn't make it clear. They could have said, "Destroy all dominion buildings on this side of the bridge on hard" but noooooooooo. You had me worried about also getting the buildings on the other side of the bridge and make me write these useless posts asking for help when I could've gotten the achievement several times earlier, but was more worried about the buildings over the bridge than to clean up.
God I am so frustrated right now with that achievement.
Oh, and Tiger, I'll need your number code.Last edited by Silverraptor; 2013-03-20 at 11:08 AM.

Ewww, that sucks. On the plus side, by setting a harder goal for yourself, it forced you to improve even more to pull it off!

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
Phew. I can finally venture into this thread without fear of hitting an accidental unspoilered spoiler.
Awesome game. Can't wait for Legacy of the Void.
It's kind of sad. Everyone is talking about the unit combos they use, and I just build a gigantic Mutaball and kill all the things. Ground units are for suckers and base defense.Last edited by The Glyphstone; 2013-03-27 at 02:16 AM.

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
Oh right.
Let's see...
Swarmling Zerglings with Adrenal Glands, the instant spawn is real handy for the 'oh crap my mutaball is halfway across the map and marines are in my drone line cause I skimped on spine crawlers'. The 3x Ling per egg is icing on the cake.
Bouncing Banelings with extra blast radius. Not so much for their cliff-jumping, but their jump-attack getting them into attack range quicker. They're like little purple acid-filled Mexican jumping beans of death.
Vile Roaches with Tunneling Claws, the slowed attack is crazy good.
Impaler Hydras with extra range, though I never built one outside of the test mission. The only mission I even built normal Hydras was the Protoss one where I needed mobile anti-air to kill the shuttles.
Brood Lord Mutalisks with Rapid Regeneration. This was my bread and butter and butterknife and toast and toaster unit for any mission where I had a base. Never really bothered with the Brood Lords, though - to turn one Muta into a BL cost more than just getting ANOTHER MUTALISK for the ball. I could hit-and-run Thors or anything else, including the Hybrid Eradicators in the secret lab, with almost no casualties.
Swarm Hosts with the flying locusts and attack-while burrowed, though I never built a single SH in the entire campaign.
Regenerating Ultralisks with Life Leech, same thing.
Kerrigan generally took whatever enabled my mutaball to come online faster, while she stayed back and ripped people attacking my base to shreds. I actually found the Leviathan to be kinda weak, it died way too fast without my mutaball to protect it from Vikings/Scouts/Void Rays, and if I had the ball the Leviathan couldn't keep up.NOW COMPLETE: Let's Play Starcraft II Trilogy:

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
I felt like the campaign was a little short, like there needed a little more character development for several characters.
Also, I did not like Isha or whatever the snake chick was called. She was useless and annoying. Give me more conversations with Abathur. He was awesome.
Which brings me to another thing that I didn't like. There weren't any cool units that were campaign-only like there was for Wings of Liberty. Heck, there were fewer units than in multi-player, since they never let you have Corrupters and they made Brood Lords and Vipers a mutually exclusive choice.
Also, I felt like there wasn't enough mutation options. You just got to pick one of three for each unit and never got another one to allocate. I wanted Adrenal Glands and Metabolic Boost, like normal multiplayer. Is that too much to ask? Why not do what Wings of Liberty did and let me spread my mutations around whatever way I like? Maybe let me just leave the roach and the swarm host the way it is and use the spare points to buff my favorite units.
Then there was the lack of choices during the campaign. In Wings of Liberty, I could usually pick one of three different missions and a couple of the missions you could choose two different versions. The choices were meaningful. This time around you are lucky if you get two choices instead of only one.
Now, don't get me wrong, the game was wonderful. It just wasn't as well done as Wings of Liberty and that says something coming from a Zerg player.

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
I was frustrated by the complete lack of ability I had to give my units ANY ORDER besides Move and Attack-Move. Is there some way to turn that off? I got frustrated by the need to constantly micromanage everything because i couldn't give Hold Position or Patrol orders.
And where were my damn Nydus Worms? I learned to be terrified of that screech whenever one spawned and I panicked around looking for it, I wanted to unleash that fear on my fearless AI enemies.Last edited by The Glyphstone; 2013-03-27 at 02:38 AM.

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
You want to know what drove me bananas? I couldn't select a unit that wasn't mine. Those giant Feral Zerg reptile things that I want to know what they are? Can't look at them. Those tentacle plants? No looking. The freaking yetis from the first mission I could choose? No idea what they could do.
Blizzard, why did you dumb the campaign down?

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
I have only one reason why I paid for this expansion, and it was worth every penny...
SpoilerThat final scene. That was a beatdown that has been over a decade in the coming. And soooo very worth it.
As far as the discredit mengsk missions in WoL? Pave the way for Valarian. Who might end up being a smoother but ultimately more dangerous bastard than daddy dearest.
Then again... does he *really* want to actively piss Kerrigan off right now? I mean... the swarm is off going after the Xel-Naga dude. I wouldn't be rocking that boat right now...SpoilerQuite possibly, the best rebuttal I have ever witnessed.

Re: Starcraft 2: 8 Medivac drop
I had these problems too. I got until campaign 3 before I got so fed up, I spent 10 minutes combing through the settings to turn those off. You guys still having those problems? Because I fixed mine and can help you guys fix your displays and be able to click on things.
