It was a TPK of the Wolves.

Which, when you think about it... trying to map a game of Werewolf to a standard D&D game, the Werewolves would be the party of PCs and the Village would be the army of mooks the party need to slaughter their way through.

Okay folks, here is the list of the "official events" and a rough timetable. I included addresses for most sites, so those with GPS can plot their routes. We are trying to steer away from the “pre-gathering” at the Hippie Hut, since we have continued to “bust at the seems” in years past. Those who signed up for the table-top games, please check back through the thread for time and location. I put a few other sites on the list, just to give some other options if you are feeling restless. Don't forget to send Diva De a PM with your cell-phone number, so you can be notifed of any other gatherings!

Cootie Brown's: 2715 North Roan Street.
    Friday Night at 6:00 PM

Official new venue for Friday Night meal. Good vegetarian and vegan menu options, nice beer list, great pizza. Close to gaming store and reservations have already been made. This will also be the time where we collect monetary donations towards Saturday’s cook-out and Sunday’s wrap-up. Games and gatherings after our meal are welcome, but they will be somewhat dispersed, since I personally need to get some sleep before Saturday’s main events.

Greenwood Challenge: 2917 S Greenwood Drive.
Saturday afternoon at 11:00 AM til 5:00 PM

Official venue for Saturday cook-out and outdoor gathering. Kubb, Cash-n-Guns live, high ropes event. I will have safety waivers for everyone to be completed before any activities may commence. The stress here is because I am the sole party responsible for safety. Bring a folding chair or blanket. I plan on being there around 10:00 AM on Saturday to get things set-up, and then closing up shop around 5:00 to give everyone a chance to shower. NO BEER PLEASE!

Mid-City Grill: 106 South Commerce Street.
Saturday Night from 7:00 PM til ???

Official venue for Saturday evening board games and frivolity. Brown bag, so please bring your own beer if required. Good menu, vegetarian available. Open exceedingly late, so we can play as long as we like.

Good-Bye’s at the Igloo. (Address not included).
Sunday around 12:00 PM til ???

Penguinsushi and Bardic Bunny will share their address with folks at our gathering, as opposed to posting their home address on the internet. We hope to have enough funds to purchase some things for sandwiches and such for this event. They hosts will be at church in the morning, so they request that a local resident be present before folks start showing up…

Comfort Inn & Suites: 1900 South Roan Street.
Hotel where most OOTSers will be staying. Guests can share room #s at their discretion for later evening games.

Carnegie Hotel: 1216 West State of Franklin.
Nice hotel downtown near ETSU campus. Has restaurant and spa.

    Additional sites and information!!

Hobbytown Games: 2927 North Roan Street #2
Interested in some of the games we played? Want to just be nice and support local business? Come here for best available board games. This is just down the street from Cootie Brown’s restaurant.

EarthFare grocery: 1735 West State of Franklin #12.
If you have any particular vegetarian or vegan requests for the cook-out or other 'feed yourself options'. Our delegated shoppers will not be heading to this venue to get extra’s, but if you want something yourself, please feel free. We did well with grilling some Portabella Mushrooms and Eggplant last year. This store is just down the street from the ropes course.

Acoustic Coffee House: 415 West Walnut Street.
This is a mellow little coffee house with free acoustic music most evenings. Also has a decent beer list. Those arriving early with nothing to do while some of us finish our work-week, please feel free!

    Jack’s Grill: 1805 North Roan Street #A1
Excellent option for brunch on Sunday morning before heading to the Igloo. This is a restaurant that is also owned by the folks at Cootie Brown’s, so if you liked Friday night’s meal…

WalMart: 3111 Brown's Mill Road or 2915 West Market Street
This will be our primary staple for buying ingredients for the cook-out at the ropes course. We may also use Sam's club for some of the bulk items, just for the best bargain.

Alarra has it, so I expect we should see it show up fairly soon.

I also have to admit to some of my hazy memory...

    Delegation of duties:

I know Gryffon has elected to be grill-meister this year.

Just remember, you'll be wearing it in the open heat. Also, I don't think the area permits weapons =P

Mechanically, I think the water balloons would be over-powered. And also hard to tell after the first one went off.

Since we're getting close to go-time and some questions have been floating around, I'm going to post a synthesis of the LF game info again here, just for finalization -

Little Fears + OotsCon '12 Game and Session Info:

    Session #1: Friday, June 29th, 9pm, @ The Igloo.
Players: Indy, Katie, Bardic Bunny, Alarra, Phil and Mango

Session #2*: Saturday, June 30th, ~9pm, @ Mid City Grill
Players: De, Lightwraith(?), Gryf, Reverent(?), Gwyn, UserClone(?)
*this session is a little less nailed-down

I'll be doing pre-gen'd characters for this one - which seems most practical on a variety of levels - so you don't need to worry about any of that beforehand.

There is, however, an optional facet you can add to your character. Players may bring a single, physical item to the session that his/her child likes to use for a specific make-believe purpose - that is, to pretend he/she is someone or something else. This is just to add an additional, tangible flavor to the game, though it will potentially have an actual, mechanical effect in the game.

The characters in the game will be around 8 years old. The image I posted previously suggests that the story will take place at a summer camp.

Looking forward to this game and the rest of the meetup shenanigans!

I've been trying to think of a nice object that's interesting and fitting without being cliche... I'm thinking it's gonna be one of the books that I would have my parents read to me when I was around that age, maybe a little younger.

    Sounds interesting.

The first question I would have is, would your character/child use the book to pretend to be something? The original intent was for make-believe - something like a childhood hero-image of sorts.

That said, if you (or anyone else) would rather bring something of a more concrete attachment, we can definitely work with that - though it will be used in a different sort of way.

There really aren't any "wrong" ideas, but in terms of the game, some kinds of things will be more...wider reaching...than others.

That being said, the thing he picked means I need to select something else. One of the things that sucks about having a spouse whose brain works in a similar way to mine. The other ways include him ALWAYS knowing when I will be distracted, making me easier to startle and knowing when I'm thinking of saying something hilarious, but offensive.

And I LOVE the idea of water balloons. My biggest concern with that is having to make sure all the little pieces of destroyed ballons get picked up.

Oh, OK! That's fine, then. I was just worried, cuz no, I didn't sign up for anything. Thanks for clarifying.

If there is anything I can help with let me know! I'm at the mercy of others as far as transportation goes but I can wrangle people together with the best of them. I'm a pretty good cook and I make a living solving problems for people who still use AOL. So I have all the patience. Literally. All of it.

Also I'm pretty handy at creating things, coming up with ideas, and building things if any of that will come in handy. I have like a +9 skill bonus to "make crap up as I go along-ed-ness", traded it for my ability to appreciate abstract art. Figured I wouldn't ever need that skill any ways. Screw you Jackson Pollock!

Just let me know what still needs to be taken care of and I'll make it happen.
    in bed.

I offer myself and RabbitBoyfran for services, as well.

You will never have the luxury of a dull ache.
You must suffer through the intricacy of feeling too much"
