    Huzzah again!

And for those contemplating a 6 hour drive, we drive for about 7 hours every year, and several times between meetups as well, and that's just to JC. It's 10 hours to get to GenCon.

Having someone else in the car helps a ton, it really does.

Which is why I'm looking around for a ride. Cuz any car ride would be totally more awesome with me around, most definitely. It's not cuz I might need the ride from a major airport or anything, no. I just figured I'd bless someone with my presence. Yup. <.<

I'm going to keep trying to convince Mauve she can indeed make it.

Mostly because I'm afraid if she can't make it to TN, then I won't be showing up either. I've got precious little funds throughout the year and I'd rather save what I can to be able to see her as much as possible.

I think ZRS and I still hold the record for longest road trip to meet forumites with our 26 hour drive to South Dakota for the Zeb/Alarra wedding. (And while it was no Trogland meetup, the fun had that weekend was legendary.)

I suspect you're probably right. My only disappointment for that weekend was that Alarra and I had so much wedding stuff to look after that we didn't have enough time to hang out with the people that came to celebrate with us.

Personally, anything over 10-12 hours and I'm looking for either plane tickets or someplace to stop overnight on the way. 10h and under, though? Piece of cake, especially if there's some variety in the scenery along the way. (And of course the right company can make that 10-12 feel more like 5-6.) (And that is why I will go and get Rabbit if need be. <3)

    Wait, what?

No, I mean that I wouldn't have contemplated making a 20h drive if there hadn't been a place we could catch a quick nap, somewhere near the midpoint of the trip. That would be the "stop overnight on the way" option I mentioned.

That . . . actually seems like a fantastic idea and I wonder why we've never thought of it before. Cottage rental is perhaps a bit too expensive, but maybe with a bit of research (plenty of time), something good can be found. If people bring sleeping bags and inflatable mattresses, we could take everyone. I'd totally be up for this.

Its only five hours by myself to see you and Mango, and then ten hours from Arkansas to Tennessee.
Overall, I spend about fifteen hours in a car to get to the meetup

Okay, I was going to give you a hard time about Alarra being pregnant at one of the meetups, but then, she was due in six weeks, not six days. Poor planning, lad, poor planning. (We will ignore the fact that we had to miss GenCon that year for the same reason.)

Wait, your family does an annual trip to Europe that same weekend every year? Or is it just typical that something is happening to make it so you can't join us? Either way, I can't blame you for choosing "fabulous European vacation", but just this once.
