"I'm male. Mori is female," Cole says, gesturing at his dog, who is now sniffing the dinosaur. "Why do you both think I'm big? I'm not even a man yet."

"Huh. Males got the hair too. And no fur, neither. Weird stuff," the little guy replies. He's a bit too slow for shock to really set in regarding the fact that he's talking to a sapient alien species. And when the dog is mentioned. "Mm. That's what your females look like then? Way different. But I guess that's okay. Easier to tell ya apart."

I think he might have just made an improper leap in logic there.

It may be wise to point this out to him!

"Huh... she's Mori? Yeah. I'm Orange. That's my code-name, y'know? That's why I wear all the orange, too. Makes it easy to tell team members apart. I got 'nother name."

A rather long pause at this point. Eventually Orange seems to remember something.

"But Red says I don't tell it. 'cuz we're on mission and all."

The tiny dinosaur is regarded with a rather curious look. Huh. That thing sure does look funny.

Cynthia turns her head to look at the three and gives them a big, pointy toothed smile before returning her attention to the kitty. Funny how her teeth manage to not be unnerving at all! <.< Of course, this is the Nexus anyway.

Arel smiles at Cynthia as well. She certainly is cute. "Are you taking care of her then?" She asks Astrana.

Reinholdt just watches Cynthia while listening for Astrana's answer.

"Taking care of her? More like she's helping me... or at least she's supposed to." Astrana says with a glance at the little demon. "She's a part of a deal I made, and trust me when I say she looked very different at first. I think she's mentally always been a child though so this form suits her."

Fukayna has been pretending to ignore the people talking in the shelter, as cats are wont to do! As always, she's been listening carefully. The cat's ears perk up and she looks more closely at Cynthia; she's a bit intrigued.

"The child is a demon, then."

The black and white cat says this matter-of-factly. She doesn't seem to mind such a creature being in the temple of Bast.

"Um, yeah, pretty much." Cynthia answers the question herself. She puts the kitty on her lap and starts scratching behind its ears. Her attention is on Fukayna, however.

Arel blinks in surprise at this. Her last and only encounter was less than pleasant. He was a jerk though, so that's different. Then there's Sirtch, but that's a different situation all together.

Reinholdt raises an eyebrow.
"What sort of deal?"

Astrana might want to ask for her stuff back now, since everything's mostly calmed down.

Because to us you ARE large. he pulls out a small jeweled cane and taps it on the ground. I believe this fellow is of a different species than his female companion.... he says, pointing at Cole and Moki. He pauses and then scoffs. Ah! I do say! How rude of me not to introduce myself! Waggleton P. Tallylicker the Third, Esquire the little dinosaur holds out a hand.

A deep, gravelly, voice with a hint of worry and a slight tinny warble calls out to Thenadier from the end of the alley.

"Subject, you are injured! Allow me to assist!"

Heavy footsteps accompany the cacophonous sprint of what appears to be an over-sized suit of armor running towards Thenadier.

"Subject, do you have any knowledge of the extent and cause of your injuries? Information is key to your recovery!"

Thenadier turns around angrily, ....Who are you...or what in this case....I'm fine...Go aw-COUGH Thenadier coughs up some blood and a bit of swallowed tongue bits....He has the bandanna covering his jaw. He looks terrible. Half of his face is burned off....

Subject, you are in no condition to be demanding I leave! I am Reconstruction Unit One, and you are in dire need of medical assistance! May I scan you in order to check for internal wounds and possible negative reactions to the medical process? Do you have any preexisting conditions?" the armor's eye slits glow brightly now, and some of the instruments on its left arm are whirring and sliding about.

If you do not allow me to assist you, I will have to use sedatives, and it is best to keep you awake to answer any questions," RU1 extends a friendly hand (the right one, not all covered in tools like the left) to support Thenadier if needed, "If you do not trust me, at least allow me to take you to someone you do trust."

My purpose is to repair and understand those around me," a small mechanical songbird flits out of a hole that opens up in RU1's chest and flits onto its extended hand, chirping a soothing melody.

Thenadier turns to the robot. His coat is ripped and torn. A rib pops out his injured, burned, and blood-crusted chest. His jaw is completely bone, hinting on Thenadier's undead nature.

"Ah, friend Subject is one of the undead? That will make the process much easier. The undead do not reject reconstruction discs," RU1 opens a compartment in his left arm and fishes out a small, reddish metal coin, "Microhomunculi do not recognize you as an organism, and cannot rebuild you without past instruction because of your lack of a sustained metabolism and cell reproduction, but this coin, if place to your body, should repair you with whatever materials you were made from."

"Er, yeah, she's not human. She's a dog," Cole says, automatically reaching out to put a hand on Mori's back. She's easily big enough to be a mount for Orange, or to nom Mr Tallylicker in one bite. She's currently sniffing the dinosaur all over. "My name is Cole. I'm new to the Great City."

Waggleton bops Moki on the nose with his cane. Stay back beast or I'll give you a right good drubbing! he raises his fists at the dog. Do me a jolly good favor and keep your beast at bay. It looks mighty famished and I'm afraid it might attempt to make a meal of me.

"To get my boyfriend back." Astrana tells Reinholdt while slowly glancing at Cynthia. "...it's a work in progress. She is a demon though." Astrana confirms. She would have added that it should be pretty obvious Cynthia was a demon but remembers that demons looked pretty different in other worlds, or might not even exist at all.

"I should retrieve my chains before I go though, someone gave up a part of their soul for those you know?" Thankfully not her.

Or at least pretty giant when compared to him. Still big compared to a human.

"Oh. 'nother species then? That's good I guess. Blue would like to know this. She's a... uumm... zeenu... xeno-somthin' er rather. It's a long word. Means she studies aliens," Orange shrugs. "I don't know much 'bout that. Just pilot my Stomper. And cook meals for the team."

He shrugs again. The guy seems mostly unflappable. Quite laid back and friendly, that's for sure.

"Great city, huh? Everything's so big. But I guess that's cuz yer all giant folks."

He eyes the tiny dinosaur again. His hat especially. Voidborn are known for having hats like those sometimes. But it's best not to think about Voidborn too much and so he doesn't.

Ah, a xeno-biologist? A troublesome profession by any standard, expecially in The Nexus where there are more species than you can shake a stick at! Believe me, I've tried. Got to about a baker's dozen before someone stepped on me. Quite rude. he adjusts his monocle and puts both hands on his cane, leaning slightly forward.

Fukayna merely twitches her whiskers and eyes Cynthia without emotion. Whatever the cat thinks of the demon, and the "deal" with Astrana, she doesn't show it. Her ears quiver at the mention of someone giving up part of their soul. Naturally, she's curious about that sort of thing. But again, asks no questions.
