Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
yay! just got my full story set delivered at work. Sitting on my desk just offering me temptation to rip it open right here >_> It's heavy!
Thanks again Rich for all the hard work you've put into this - here's hoping it pays off somewhat!

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
I got my package about a month ago, and I must say it was well worth the wait. "War and XPs" is fantastic, and so is "Snips, Snails and Dragon Tales". And I love the coloring book! Even though I'll probably never use it.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
I got mine a few weeks ago - absolutely love being able to say I have the full set of books now! They managed to forget the art print, but I've already messaged Rich about that, so I should wind up getting that in the near future (can't wait to hang it on my wall).
Also, Roy guarding the shopping list is adorable. As is the entirety of the coloring book.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
I got my full story about two weeks ago, and now that I've read it all I feel like I understand the full scope of the story better. I completely forgot about the extra goodies that came with my order. The magnet and color book are cute. The coloring book got donated to my library, so maybe some kid will come to know the Order of the Stick.
I'd just like to thank Rich for all this, as well as all the people who have to sort through the shipping and whatnot. I know it's a lot of effort, and I appreciate it!

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
I'm still waiting to here some sort of reply to my kickstarter messages/posts here regarding the incorrect order delivered to me. So far, nothing.
Got a reply, sounds like the missing books will be shipped to me soon.Last edited by nzgrover; 2012-08-16 at 07:43 PM.

Well, thanks for the heads up on the Sticky Schticks being completed Rich. I'll keep a lookout now for my package to arrive.

Yay, I have my shipping mail, now only to wait a couple of weeks before my stuff comes in the mail, it's like I celebrate my birthday twice this year.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
The turnaround time for me to answer emails is at least a week. They build up so fast after a new update that I have to sit and take much of a day away from other work to answer them. I'm going to do that today, since it's been a while.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Just so everyone gets an idea of what my Kickstarter email inbox is like: I just finished emptying it, 8 hours after I started. I did break for dinner for like an hour, though, so I guess it's only 7 hours.

Wow.

I wonder how close Rich is to almost wishing he'd never done this! I'm sure he'll be glad when it's all said and done. Obviously a million dollars worth of awesome is a monumental task! We appreciate it though Rich.
Seriously don't burn out, I haven't got my stuff yet but I really don't care, let it come when it will. Just don't let yourself get burned out, don't want OOTS becoming a chore to you... that's not good for any artist.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
totally agree with you shivore. i would rather have an awesome comic and swag with a relaxed schedule on postings than a lame comic that has new pages up all the time. i say after all the kickstarter stuff is done, take a 2 month vacay

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
I hope you don't burn yourself out, mr. Burlew. Nobody, and I mean nobody, could have foreseen the larger-than-life-outcome of Kickstarter project and the enormous amount of work for you. Please, take a relaxing vacation after you've finished your herculean task and the people have received their Kickstarter packages. You've certainly earned it.
We, the people of the United OOTS-forumists will wait for you loyally even if you decided to travel around the world in 80 days like a certain mr. Fogg did.
On a personal note, my Kickstarter package arrived earlier this week to my ha-ha-hacienda in Southwestern Finland. The package included four OOTS books and one prequel (and a coloring book, a participation patch, two notebooks and such). Now I have all five OOTS books and both prequels! Now, after a rather tiresome week "at the office" it's time to relax at weekend and enjoy my OOTS books. I've already covered them with plastic, and it's time to read the books in a row. There's no better way to spend a Friday night.
Thanks again for your fine work, mr. Burlew. And thanks to all other 14 951 Kickstarters - we participated!

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Woo, my package just moved from Houston to Chicago! I just hope the customs here won't have a field day with it. I believe there's 0% VAT on books here (not a native), but the card game expansion and patch might motivate them to label the whole package as 'toy' or 'clothing' (yes, that has happened before...), not to mention the so-called 'handling fee'.
Anywho, I wonder what the next stop will be!Avatar by Recaiden

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Customs fees are nothing to do with Royal Mail, they're charged by HMRC. Royal Mail has to pass the charge on or else they'd be out of pocket themselves. (I remember I got charged a customs fee for one of the OotS books because it wasn't properly labelled as printed material, which doesn't have a customs charge).

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
My copy of SSDT and Sticky Schticks finally arrived. Yay!
Also, I must say that I really enjoyed SSDT, even though I had already seen some of the old Dragon Strips. I'm just going to jokingly (mostly, anyway) suggest that a Kickstarter to raise momeny for SSDT 2 might be very succesful some day.
I'm kidding (for the most part), of course. Don't burn yourself out, Giant.Last edited by Squark; 2012-08-18 at 02:28 PM.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
My RPG group has been using the OOtS Spring Monster Minis in our D&D 4th Edition campaign and everyone has really been enjoying them. We normally play with realistic metal and plastic minis, but I think that the use of the OOtS paper minis has brought a little extra sense of whimsy to the way people are playing. You cannot imagine the smiles on everyones' faces when I was not only able to pull out a Riding Dog for our Gnome Wizard, but showed how it had a little seat to put the Gnome paper mini on when riding it! I encourage everyone to try them, if only for a short game. Well done, as usual, Mr. Burlew!

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Was there something special required to get the "I Participated!" patch? I donated early, 2nd or 3rd day I think. When my package came it had my book, a fridge magnet, a page of stickers, and a coloring book - but no Participation patch.

Yes, you had to add $4 (I think) and note in your survey you paid extra for one.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Savannah's correct, the patch required a $4 increase and notification on the survey that you added it.
However, if you missed out, we will have extra patches available for sale (only to KS backers) once everyone's unsigned package is out the door.Rich Burlew

Yay, got my package today. All books in perfect condition! Thanks! Swiss customs thought it necessary to charge me an extra $46 (55% service fee and 45% VAT ), so next time I will have things delivered to The Netherlands .

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Did anybody have something missing from their package, and they pm'd Rich and he said they'd send another one? How long did it take you to get it?
Because my package was missing the poster, and I pm'd Rich, and he said the warehouse would send me another one. I think that was about a month ago. I sent him another PM, but he hasn't answered me.
