That's cool. I've never seen an otter before. There's a river down in the colony but children aren't allowed to go near there. It's really deep, and flows fast and leads deep underground, Brinika says.

"I've never heard of cave-otters, but if they do exist they might be there. It's unlikely though. Otters generally prefer not to be disturbed, so they don't move into an area with people already there. If it's the other way around the otters likely won't go anywhere so long as they're left alone, though." Natalie's otter lore may be completely and utterly wrong. I know that there's otters in the UK, but I also know that none have been confirmed in Kent (although I also know that otter spraint and footprints have been found). According to Wikipedia, the otter has been confirmed in every county of the UK by the Environment Agency in August last year- I learnt that little factoid about it not being in Kent in the academic year of 2010/2011 and it's out of date.

I don't think there are any otters there. There are fish, though. Sometimes they get caught, but not all of them can be eaten. Some are... weird.

I don't know, I've never seen one. But they say some are blind, some have tentacles and such. They come from the really deep places, Brinika explains.

"Isn't blindness to be expected underground where there's no light? And there's a type of aquatic mollusc with groups of tentacles around their heads, and some fish have tentacle-like whiskers to help feel their way around silty rivers." Of course, it's also possible that the fish were mutated by ancient magic or something, but Natalie doesn't think like that.

"Oh, right." Natalie can guess why- getting lost, starvation, thirst, drowning, madness. My guesses run more along the lines of great big hairy/scaly things with teeth.

After a few more minutes of visiting with Renetta and Waterstrider, Pansy thanks the children and Myrim for bringing the food basket, and then asks them all to leave. Pansy takes her place at Renetta's other side, coaching her and comforting her through labour, while Nurse Piper prepares to deliver the baby.

Indeed. After a number of long hours, the birth is a complete success. Renetta cradles her newborn child in her arms, looking down at her at a loss for words. The pup's fur is mostly tan, but a bit darker with hints of Renetta's red. Around her collarbone and the bottom of her muzzle the fur gradually shifts to being much more solidly red.

Waterstrider stays at Renetta's side the entire time, and at the end, instantly falls in love with the little cub. Resting his head on Renetta's shoulder, he strokes their daughter's muzzle gently. "She's just as beautiful as you are, Renetta." He whispers before looking up at his love and giving her muzzle a gentle nuzzle of affection.

Renetta closes her eyes for a second, enjoying the moment. "She is beautiful." Her eyes are inevitably drawn back to the baby. "Do you have any ideas for a name?" She asks.

Pansy dismisses Nurse Piper as soon as all the medical stuff is done, and is unobtrusively doing what she can to clean up and make mother and child more comfortable.

She doesn't say anything, content to let the couple enjoy their moment with their first child, and remembering the first time she held Tito in her arms.

"Oh, high Jamie! I found a weird forest recently and now I have more shapes!" Natalie's rather excited about it!

Today she's wearing a tartan skirt ending just above her knees and a blue t-shirt. She seems unaware that the t-shirt is currently back to front, and has been since she put it on as a monkey.

"Um. Okay." Kenneth eyes the two Exalts curiously.

Then, out of the blue, Raira speaks up. She looked like she was falling asleep for a few minutes there. "So you guys are like superheroes?"

Zamira smiles. "...kind of."

Or 'depends what defenition of superheroes you use'.

Waterstrider takes a moment to think while Renetta gets moved to a bigger(and cleaner) bed. He crawls into it next to his loves and wraps his arms around them. "Flamecrest perhaps?" He whispers, nuzzling against her shoulder as he strokes their cub's ears softly.

Renetta considers for a moment, then nods. "Flamecrest sounds lovely." The baby shifts her head a little bit in response to Waterstrider's touch, but doesn't wake up.

Keo is up on the roof again!

This time is different, though. Instead of being very still, she's whittling a piece of bone. She's using a crude flint knife, and slowly shaping the bone into a cube.

Or, as close to a cube as she can get it. She's not too good.

Lily is in a mighty sulk. A fearsome sulk, the likes of which have never been matched in the history of thwarted childhood desires.

She's been barred from the infirmary, and that's where she most wants to be.

Vidalia is walking toward the infirmary. She sees Lily and waves. Hi. She doesn't expect a positive reaction, but figures she has to try.

The mood Lily is in, nobody would get a good reaction out of her - least of all not the lady that scared her in the kitchen and then tried to manipulate her into being friends. And if Vidalia is actually granted entry to the infirmary, where Lily wants to be, that will just add salt to the wound.

Caroline frowns at Sophie, the question she wants to ask visible on her face, "Why?? Why didn't you just say 'Yes.'"

"I dunno. I think this where they shove all the crazies..." Vincent says, following Caroline.

The bloody footprints should be easily noticeable by the Deathclaw, marking a clear line towards the forest. If it wasn't obvious that Lucy must have moved on her own accord to get out, it would almost look as if she had been dragged by something, or dragged her feet as if in some manner of trance.

Just as Bill should notice this, a white-dressed figure becomes visible from behind one of the distant trees, falling quite violently as if something had attacked it.
It disappears too quickly to be seen clearly, but it could very well be the nurse!

Bill continues running towards that figure!

Quinn, unfortunatly, is stuck in deadtime ooze until FF's schoolwork and such releases its hostage to allow for the birth of Spawn of Tobias II...
