Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Yes. I have a feeling this was just a gag before the real reveal, and Tarquin's "Totally worth..." phrasing seems like a pretty blatant give-away.
As for the character tournament, it's tough, but I'm going to have to go with Mr. Scruffy, solely on the basis of 1) being in the comic longer and 2) being able to pull off jokes without being able to talk.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Yes. Between Roy's wits, Haley being able tell people's motives by looking at their eyes, Elan knowing Tarquin, Malack and Kilkil flying around, etc. it seems quite plausible that they can piece it together.
This was a tough one, but I'm gonna go with Mr. Scruffy, for pretty much what ti'esar said: he gets things done without a single speech balloon. Quite a feat in this comic.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Yes, I think they've probably already got him from that last sentence. Tarquin should have had green face paint around the eyes. However, we know he only allowed the helmet removed because he had the mask. He wants to control the dramatic reveal.
And I'm going with Blackwing, who has in fact been in the comic far longer than Mr. Scruffy, in a far lesser role. I'm just not a cat person.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Although I'd question how much of a role "occasional running gag" is... point taken.
Also, you may be misinterpreting the first question - Tarquin has clearly dropped the Thog act, and the Order knows that. The question is whether they'll guess it's him specifically, and not just some generic masked villain.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Tough call. I'm going to have to say Yes. Among other things, "not Thog" arrived on a dinosaur, and the only person so far shown to keep and ride dinosaurs has been Tarquin.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
I think it will be a yes, but Tarquin may well try to pull off a belated I-knew-you-were-going-to-do-that-too, but fail for the characters with a higher wisdom. Elan might buy it, though... :) At least, if he is unmasked at all, I have a feeling that it will not be by his own valition.
And, without question, Blackwing. Half of Mr. Scruffy's gags are not even funny, really. I will give you the whole no-speech-yet-still-going-for-entertaining thing, which is neat, Blackwing's got some great lines (the stealth-dinosour being up there as one of the best) and some good plot insite to boot. I would not care if the cat left, but would be upset for the bird.78% of all DM's start their first campaign in a tavern. No, I think the Order's not that lucky with anything. See Elan in the last frame.

And now we're voting for quotes? Or are those only there as filler? I'd have to say, a sentence or two in the OP about how the npc tournaments work would be really helpful.I won a thread. Am I pathetic to list that in my signture? Yes. Of course I am.

Yes, although she may not be on the Order's side when it happens.
Redcloak by a mile. As great as the Hinjo's Junk strip was (and I think it was the funniest moment in the entire comic), Redcloak is just too compelling a character.Last edited by rgrekejin; 2012-05-18 at 04:36 PM.

Yes. Possibly not before the end of this skirmish with the Linear Guild, but I doubt that's going to be the end of the battle for Girard's Gate period.
And Redcloak.

Re: OOTS Polls (feat. Favourite NPC Tournament)
Yes, quite likely in a saving their butts manner.
Well dang, I wanted to see Hinjo get farther than this, but Redcloak is by far a more appealing character.
EDIT: I can't wait to see the Tarquin vs Xykon matchup. I agree with whoever said these are not random.Last edited by Rorrik; 2012-05-18 at 06:06 PM.
