Natalia whispers back, "Wounded, trapped, faking an empty cup, asking for a fight." She asks Miriam, "Pretend your healing is gone?"

Miriam nods her head and smiles at Natalia. She has no idea what the rogue just said. "Oh great! No worry then ......

Natalia sighs and looks back to the entrance of the next room. Hopefully they'll find out just what spooked Whiskers soon...

Shrine of Aquatos - Room 3

Apparently something was lost in translation. Mithril was pleased with her script, going into the bluff, but quickly she realized that the essentials in a good lie, the emphasis put in particular places, is difficult when translating into draconic. She immediately realizes her faulty bluff. Echoing down the staircase and around the corner, Kurt can almost hear something that sounds like a laugh - then again, their whole yippy language sounds like evil, conniving laughter. No response comes from her second call down the hall.

Shrine of Aquatos - Room 5 ((I'll consider the elevator shaft Room 4 and this new, watery room Room 5.))

Shiny makes his way through the water. Everything around him and under him is pitch black. He finds his way around the corner. He feels walls on two corners of this small area, but in one direction wall gives way for more travel.

((Since you only moved 5 feet, we'll count that as half of your turn.))

Natalia glares at Mithril when she barely hears the laughter and says, "Stalemate now. They'll wait for us to truly sleep."

Natalia does have an idea in case the kobolds try to cut their throats in their sleep, but she wants to try luring them out some other way first. Taking a moment to formulate the words in her mind (she has to get this right; she only has one chance and she can't be misunderstood), the rogue all but shouts, in halting Draconic and not-entirely-false disbelief, "Empty cup? What...do you mean...No spells left? We're...helpless rabbits!"

Miriam starts twirling her hair which is what she does when she thinks .... Finally she looks at Mithril then Natalia "Could it be that the reason they do not come towards us is because the hallway is full of traps? After all they did not build a bypassing tunnel for nothing .... "

Natalia frowns. It was certainly possible, but..."Heavy traps only; Whiskers is safe." Sure, she could go out and check, but no way was Natalia about to check a hallway full of traps while leaving herself open for attack. Besides--She looks at the pit where Shiny and the kobold are and says, "Tick tock."

Miriam nods. "I am humbled by your wisdom my Sister. I have truly a lot to learn. There is little need to worry about the other kobolds stuck on the other side of the trapped corridors while the lying gnome is in potential danger."

[Athedia]

"Whiskers can't help anymore. He is useful for scouting out danger, but the problem is we only share emotions, not sight or sound. And I can't understand him. Our conversations are rather one-sided. Anyway they would try to eat him." Mithril said regretfully, she was mad at the kobolds, first they had lied to her, now they were laughing.

Shrine of Aquatos - Room 3

There is no response to Mithril's call.

Natalia sighs. She turns and says to the group, "Time to trap the ambush." She unravels the copper wire bracelet and strings it across the gap of the hallway and their room, making a thin tripwire at about ankle height. If the kobolds rush in, they'll trip, fall, and alert the group of their presence. Then, she takes a couple stones or chunks of rubble that are probably lying around (if they're not, she takes from her pocket) and tosses them into the hallway.

Shrine of Aquatos - Room 3

Again, there is no response from the other end of the hall as the bits of rocks tumble down the stairs and around the corner.

Moving to B5. Upon consideration, I think that since I'm not taking any standard actions I can move twice my speed each round, but I leave it to your discretion.

Kurt shifts his grip on his axe, frowning in worry at the lack of actions from the kobolds. He speaks quietly to the others to try and avoid being heard. "I think they're not coming...should we go and flush them out? We don't want to wake up with 100 of them out there..."

Miriam points to the opening large enough only for a small creature such as Shiny or a Kobold. "Shouldn't we expect to come in through here?"

Natalia looks at the pit, biting her lip. Kurt has a point and she wants to go after them too, but, "Shiny and hostage?" She doesn't want to leave them alone.

[Cavelcade]

"He can take care of himself." Kurt glances at the hole, then shakes his head. "Besides, he's too far down for us to help. Will I go first?" He's got a light of anticipation in his eyes now, looking forward to a good fight already.

[Athedia]

"I can watch our backs, the strong should go first. Let's just get out of this room. Don't worry about Shiny, I know my spell will hold a bit longer, and he can always climb the rope."

Natalia shakes her head, evidently outvoted. She points to the copper wire bracelet now functioning as a tripwire and asks, "Leave it?"

(OOC: We should tell Shiny...)

Miriam will follow and close the march.

With a resigned sigh, Natalia looks back at the elevator, says, "Tick tock, hurry up," and follows Kurt. The tripwire is still strung up at about ankle height; a medium sized character would be able to step over it with little effort but a smaller creature would be more likely to trip, especially if they were running.

(OOC: We're coming back here, right? If not, then Natalia's taking her copper wire bracelet back with her.)

Shrine of Aquatos - Room 5

The party, slowly, led by Kurt, descends the stairs. He does his best to remain undetected and is rewarded. Just before he begins to round the corner, he hears the familair yapping of the kobolds. He quickly becomes rigid and insists the rest of the party does as well. Peeking his head around the corner, he spots the kobold hiding not so well behind a pillar.

((Since we have our rules, you don't have to give me an order, and I'll update this map when the alpha team advances in rounds. I just thought you'd like to see.))

Kurt waves the others to make sure they stay silent, then leans back to whisper to them. "I can see some of them hiding behind a pillar. I think I can make it over to them before they're ready...the rest of you should get ready to follow me."

Natalia nods, drawing her weapons and readying a battle stance.

Mithril positioned the quarterstaff, and tried to stead her nerves. realizing it would probably be a tight fit she started repeating a mantra in her mind, Only hit the kobolds, only hit the kobolds...

[Cavelcade]

Kurt turns back and takes out his axe, gritting his teeth as he suddenly wonders if the floor will be trapped between him and them. Oh well. Nothing for it! "Follow behind!" Shouted as he runs around the corner, running straight to the first Kobold he can see and attacking with his axe around the side of the pillar.

He moves to E1, then goes E1 to E6 in a straight line and attacks the kobold in D7. Assuming he makes it that far! If he makes it he attacks:

Kurt charges through and smashes the tiny kobold, who was hiding behind the pillar. In one swipe, the reptile is smashed to pieces. From what Kurt saw rushing through, the rest of the room seems empty.

Shiny takes a left, but finds a wall ahead thanks to his light. He heads back to the first fork. He has 14 rounds left.
