Natalia winces as she hears Kurt's axe cleave through flesh and bone. She peeks around the corner to see the fearsome warrior standing over the kobold's smashed body. Approaching, she cautiously asks, "Alone?"

Miriam will enter the room after Mithril does. When she sees the dead kobold, she will whisper a few silent words.

Shiny takes a left, but finds a wall ahead thanks to his light. He heads back to the first fork. He has 14 rounds left.

"He may have been a decoy to tempt us into a trapped room." Mithril eased her way into the room tapping the floor in front of her with her quarterstaff. (OCC: D2 following straightest path)

Natalia looks at the lever and shakes her head. "Open one, close another...Don't split the party."

Natalia doesn't want to go further until they're all regrouped. She doesn't know what door the lever would close and doesn't want to leave Shiny trapped underwater and the kobold woken up and afraid. She doesn't want to leave her wire behind.

She also searches the dead kobold and takes a quick look around the room for anything unusual (prepares for fail).

Natalia doesn't find much of interest in the room. The kobold has a small spear, leather armor fit for a small humanoid, a sling, a dirty copper necklace, and two copper pieces. The room is undecorated.

Kurt cleans the axe carefully before nodding. "Alone." He takes a look around the room, having to think for a moment to understand Natalia's words. "Yes...I think we should stay here. Soon we should know about Shiny."

Miriam nods in agreement to Kurt's statement.

Natalia removes the armor and necklace, and gives one copper piece to Kurt while pocketing the other. She also says, "Return to tell him?"

Regardless, at some point she's going back to grab the copper wire and wrap it around her wrist again.

Mithril walked to the corner and sat down. "Would you all mind so badly if I took a nap now? I don't want to appear rude but Whiskers can stay awake for me if you want, he sleeps in my pack half the time anyway and I will wake up if he is afraid. It's just I don't like going this long without spells, and we don't know how long Shiny is going to take..." She pulled her pack off her back and settled it under her head as a pillow. Not waiting for an answer she drifted off into sleep. Whiskers curled onto her feet and started cleaning his toes, looking sidelong at the dead kobold as if he thought it would still wake up and eat him.

(OOC: wake her up if you want, just figured if we are staying here for a bit I would get a head start on naptime.)

Natalia goes to the corridor, removes the tripwire and returns to Mithril while winding the copper wire back around her wrist. She stands guard over her friend while saying, "Shiny and the fox."

Although Miriam does not want to rest, she respect the group decision.

She will go in a corner and start praying.

The party decides to bunker down for the time being, awaiting the arrival of their friend Shiny.

((Well, since the party isn't going anywhere, and I already have the rules for Shiny, I can fast forward us to where he's going.))

Shiny swims through the dark water, very grateful for the bright sword, which helps him navigate the underwater tunnel incredibly. In about twenty seconds, after a total of one half minute of underwater swimming, Shiny, finds a pocket of air - and even better - a ladder! The ladder is built into the wall and extends as far down as his legs can reach from the water's surface. The pocket of air is about four feet high, where the roof above him comes to a close except for a small shaft where the ladder leads. Shiny can already see that the ladder does not extend too far above the four foot ceiling.

Shiny gulps in a few breaths of welcome air as he hits the surface, then starts clambering up the ladder, eager to see what lies ahead.

At some point before the Charm Person spell expires Natalia returns to the trapdoor, pulls up the kobold, leaves a note to Shiny explaining where they are and what happened (leaving the rope behind for Shiny to climb back up on) and returns to the room with the kobold.

Miriam will stop her praying and help Natalia pulls up the kobold.

Natalia nods at Miriam's help. When they go into the next room, making sure the kobold doesn't see his dead comrade, she asks about the underwater system that Shiny is making his way through, asking in Draconic, "Pipes beneath us?"

"Not pipes. Maze." Shiny's charm person spell has four minutes remaining.

Kurt stands watch over Mithral, walking around the room curiously, looking for any unusual stonework as well as listening for any newcomers.

Kurt doesn't hear anything but his party. He doesn't see anything particularily important about a specific element of the room, but he does take note of the high quality of the stonework. He'd be very surprised if it were kobolds that originally built this.

"Maze?" she asks. "Where's the cheese?"

She figures the spell's about to wear off when the kobold doesn't respond, and so reaches for her rope.

"Where's the cheese?" The kobold, even in his trance, seems confused by this question. "Great One, not cheese."

Natalia shakes her head. "What's the...Maze to the Great Mother?"

Miriam goes back to praying. She cannot communicate with the kobold as she does not speak draconic and is waiting for Shiny return.

"Yes. It is the halfling's first swim in our dungeon. Either he finds the cheese or drowns." Again, a creepy grin grows on his face.

Shiny climbs up the ladder, relieved to finally be out of the water, up about ten feet. In front of him is a long slender hallway. The only light is given off by a candle at the end about twenty-five feet away. At that point, the path turns left. There appears to be something on the ground beneath the light. It looks like a chest.

Natalia turns to Mithril and says, "Underwater maze, with the Great Mother as cheese." She turns back to the kobold and asks, "Know the path?"

Shiny climbs up the ladder, relieved to finally be out of the water, up about ten feet. In front of him is a long slender hallway. The only light is given off by a candle at the end about twenty-five feet away. At that point, the path turns left. There appears to be something on the ground beneath the light. It looks like a chest.

Remembering the pain of his earlier fall, Shiny resists the overwhelming urge to charge straight for the box. He moves forward while checking each square for traps, and tries to reach the corner, look around, and open the chest.
