Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
Hallok begins massaging the old woman's shoulders with surprising tenderness. He suspects that the old woman is anticipating something like this, and so he decides to begin by casting an actual soothing spell. Sit back, my dear, and let the magic seep into you. He casts Limited Wish so that he may emulate the Heart's Ease spell (BoED). He then mutters, And this next spell will ease all those silly worries in your little old head. He then casts Mindrape (BoVD). If she resists this, he uses his Amulet of Second Chances to undo the action, so that she never realizes that it happened. If she doesn't resist the Mindrape spell, then Hallok enters her mind, learning everything he wants about her. Before I change any of her thoughts and memories, I would like to know who she is, a basic history of her life, and her connection to Aurora.

Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
Aurora grew up in a barbarian village, she had an innate understanding of magic so, she did what she could to study magic and become more powerful. Eventually she stumbled upon the city, the city had been plagued by giants for sometime... she, teamed with the Old Woman named Megan, fought off the giants. After this the city pleaded that Aurora and Megan be their leaders. Megan refused, she wanted to erraticate the giants. But, Aurora felt that there would be no better way to gain power than set up a mage college in this city.

Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
I assume by the fact that you rolled a will save that the old woman wasn't willing. As I said, I use my amulet of second chances (an immediate action); it is as if I never tried to cast the spell. I tell Jack mentally, The old woman will not let down her defenses. I'll think of some way to get rid of her.

Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
Aurora's romantic life is... nonexistent to say the least. She spends her days studying dusty tomes in the hopes of becoming more powerful.
Aurora doesn't actually know very much about Megan... Megan has always been there when Aurora has needed her. Ever since Aurora was but a baby, Megan has been there. All Aurora knows for certain about Megan, is that it's better to have here as an ally than an enemy.Spoiler

"I feared this would happen I was thinking we should try hitting her with something she can't defend against maybe you could try teleporting her into the sun or I have a rod of transfer spell try transferring an astral projection into her than a imprisonment on her unprotected body.By the way her name is megan if that helps." I think at Hallok. "Gentleman we can't get past the old woman's defenses any ideas."

Does Aurora know if Megan can use magic? If you can modify Aurora's memory so that she doesn't care enough to bring her back, I could always just take her to the positive energy plane.

"I'm looking but a thought hit me why don't you just plane shift her to the plane of negative energy than time stop followed up by a force cage. She may be strong but nothing can break force. I'm going to figure out all that Aurora knows about Megan than we'll strike. Knick Knack get Aurora some cucumbers to keep her from seeing." I look further into Aurora's mind for info on Megan.

Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
I could try, but it would take hours to attempt. We sorcerers aren't especially used to having our arcane might bound to a few sheets of paper. However, I do believe my dearest cohort could aid us in that regard, as her gods have granted her a spell that could emulate almost any arcane spell, though it would drain her. I'm beginning to doubt her usefulness, anyway.

Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
Right I believe I have enough information. "Right Hallok I'm about to do some mindbending feed me as much information about your hometown as you can" I think at him
When Aurora was young there was a village nearby (the one I'm sure Hallok has told us all about on a nice night by the campfire for me to know about it and whatever I miss he can fill in the blanks.) where she met a young Drow boy that she befriended. One day when she went to visit she discovered that it had been ransacked and destroyed. She had found footprints that must've belonged to giants and than vowed to grow more powerful in the art of magic so she could seek revenge.
As time went by though she forgot in her mind of the young boy but her heart never forgot always looking for that certain someone when she met a dapper young gent prone to get into trouble but able to handle himself. She grew close to him and they began to date and grow very close to each other when suddenly she lost him as well. Her heart broken she committed herself to magic and came about defeating the giants in the city they're in now (leaving that bit of memory alone). The job was difficult but with the help of Megan she could handle it but she always had a sneaking suspicion about Megan with her lack of eyes and godlike power how could she trust her everyone else before her had betrayed her. As time went on though she began losing her grip on the town feeling she wasn't right for the job as headmaster.
Feeling no other option she planned on sending Megan banishing Megan somewhere she wouldn't be able to return. How to do such a thing she had no idea so she stayed in her position till she could come across such a way.
Than one day someone cut down the doors to her office. It was a Drow man standing tall and powerful and her heart warmed up as the memories of the young boy Hallok flooded back and than her love Jack returned . "I had always noticed that there was something wrong and I walked the world to find what would make you happy. I have gone up against Eros himself to find what your heart desired and I have found Hallok for you my love. Now as I wish for your happiness I give you the choice between him and I." her heart split she smiled and said she'd take both. They talked and talked all throughout the day telling them of her suspicions of Megan and of how they came to power. She shared her plan to banish or destroy Megan and they agreed. It was a long day and now she has decided to rest. I end her memories up at this point with her being fast asleep.
"Alright Hallok the girl is on, our side toss down a zone of silence so she doesn't wake up I've got two mirror's of opposition we can throw at Megan."
While I'm using this spell I check through her memories to ensure that it all makes sense. Time spent in her village doing nothing was changed to time spent with Hallok having fun and whatnot. Time spent wishing she was with someone or dating anyone was replaced with dating Jack growing closer having fun. Megan did as she did but some moments like when she laughed had a bit of cackle behind it, she was a bit too rough in combat using as much force as possible. Now she's very tired.Last edited by Doomboy911; 2012-04-15 at 10:29 PM.

Hallok obliges. Commendable work, Jack. I'll whip up that zone in half a moment. He casts Limited Wish to emulate a widened zone of silence, using his mastery of shaping to cause it to not effect Jack, Celeste, Aurora, Knack and himself.
On a side note, wonderful story there.Originally Posted by inuyashaOriginally Posted by Jormengand

Realizing just how humiliating this would be, Hallok tries to remember if such a thing is possible, and if it is possible to simply have two people cast time stop at once to be affected together.

It is not possible...
... True... in fact if you want to stop having to worry about her, gate her to one of the levels of Baator... you then won't have to deal with her for quite some time, as she will attempt to kill ever thing there.Spoiler

Re: [d&d 3.5] Anyone want to crash a party? (IC)
I was actually just thinking of doing something along those lines. I'll send her somewhere nice.
Megan, I believe that a woman such as yourself has no need for such trivalties as this. I say, go out, and purge the world of evil! Smirking, Hallok opens a gate to Carceri, about a mile from Nerull's palace, directly where the old woman is standing. If anyone can kill that maniac, it's the god of death. I'll alert the good fellow now. Hallok thinks to Jack, casting Contact other Plane to send Nerull a message. Greetings, oh great and powerful lord of death. I have sent an old woman by the name of Megan to your realm. Will you destroy her within ten minutes, and bind her soul, if I take up a quest in your name, of your choice?

Keep in mind that Nerull, according to deities and demigods, automatically wins initiative, and has the Life and Death ability, which destroys any one creature, without a save.

"And if that fails there's a lovely gap between the plane of earth, water, and fire that equals a lovely beach the people are wonderful. I for one build up a magnificent appetite after destroying evil." I reach into the bag for my mirror of opposition. "Hallok we can't have her slay all of evil how would I spend my poker night. Although I suppose we could send her out to battle and then interfere with the fight by making duplicates."
