The rules say no casting during the battle. They dont say anything about pre-fight buffs. I would advise you to stop struggling as well, Atlus might just choose to flame himself. That might become uncomfortable for you.

Bugsy calms down a bit, and eases his breathing, but his face is still distraught. His voice is suddenly somewhat less gruff, and he speaks properly,. Look, my point is, this whole business is illegal anyway, unless there's something horribly wrong with this city. I don't give a damn about what the rules say, and frankly, I don't see why you do either. You, Sven, and the others had an advantage, and that's what's important. I did what I had to to get past that advantage, and I couldn't care less what the rules say about it.

The issue is you used spells to defeat and embarrass me, where I do not have access to spells. Prefight buffs are another matter, but the ring is supposed to be for warriors, not wizards. They have their own places to shine. As well, when you cheated me, you stole property from me. Did you see me claim anything from a vanquished foe? I did not.

Atlus' grip tightens slightly... making it rather difficult for Bugsy to breath... You appear to be irritating my master and his friends... I only hesitate to squash you because I have yet to be told to... he says... then loosens the grip back to where Bugsy can breath just a little easier, but only ever so slightly...

Alright, I'm gonna be honest with you, here. The blokes in the fight club? They aren't going to be happy with me- they might have seemed fair and forgiving to you, but they're not. They're humans, it's not their way. They've got powerful people who can easily take me down. If I were to go off alone, I'd be dead within the day, and I suspect I wouldn't get to go to no afterlife either. I would be willing to offer you protection from whatever it is you need protecting from, if you'd be willing to stay by me, at least for the time being. Besides, it's been...a long while, a lot longer than you'd all think, since I've been 'round my own folk. The humans, the drow, and everyone else I've tried to make friends with, all of them have gone behind my back. I don't have any family left, and thanks to you, I'd be willing to bet all the men I thought I could call "friend" will be joining the hunt after me. Giants, trolls, ogres...we all share something in common. We work together, for good or for ill, and we don't go back on the vows we have given. I admit, I've let myself be corrupted by other races, started to become like them. I hope that, if you'll have me, I can learn to be a giant again.

He smiles again.

Atlus is still Neutral like most elementals... he's just protective... and is willing to go to practically any length to ensure the well being of his master and his masters friends.

Are we roleplaying objective alignment in here? I've never been a fan of that, myself. In my games, I tend to just make alignment for show, with little to no effect on the game itself. I'm alright with using it, I'm just saying that I don't like the "He's evil, let's kill him" way of playing; generally, I only have my characters refer to people as evil if they do something truly horrible.

So I'm not even going to tell you whether Bugsy's evil or not.
