Re: [Nexus] OoC 30
Some form of physical mutation growing over a period of weeks/months. Something like tentacles, or extra eyes in weird places- that kind of thing. Maybe something more esoteric, if that's what gets your fancy.

Re: [Nexus] OoC 30
The main issue I've got here is that there's no way for most of the PCs (or NPCs for that matter) to detect, dodge, resist, or counter an invisible immaterial instantaneous removal of something that that will kill them if they stop having it.
Godmodding isn't just 'I shoot you in the face and you die'.
Godmodding can also be posting an ability or spell or even a mundane attack in such a fashion that it's impossible for the target to react in any fashion other than 'I get hit'. And that's what I'm seeing here with this unless there's some way to resist it other than being an Eldritch Terrorhorror or a Wizard.Warning! Random Encounter™ detected!

Deadtime. Bye!
SpoilerThis is the thief who likes to hoard,
That loves the bard with the puppet Lord
That admires the fighter with the green-hilted sword,
That employs the Wizard, whose bird is ignored,
That has the gender unexplored
That intrigues the Halfling, usually bored,
That slew a mountain of the goblin horde,
That follows the cleric,
That serves the lich,
That seeks the gate,
That guards the snarl,
That lives in the prison the gods built.

Re: [Nexus] OoC 30
But as I said in the post, shapeshifting it away is uncomfortable, and the longer it's away the more uncomfortable it gets.
The D20 Artefacts have taught me that other people don't have plans for sudden mutation of their characters, so I'm slowing the process so you can plan it.
Also, it makes IC sense because if it's gradual Cynthia might be unaware of where the mutation started, which means she might revisit Silent Sleep for more corruption.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

Re: [Nexus] OoC 30
Eldritch Terrorhorrors aren't the only things that they can't detect, just the one that came to mind most readily. Anything that's fairly different from an Earth lifeform is completely invisible to them. So the Slaaneshi Wolfen, for example, is probably invisible due to the Chaos corruption.
Also, it isn't instantaneous. For a normal human NPC, it takes a full minute for them to be drained. A Legionary is going to take at least twice that. Wyverns will have even more time, by a considerable factor.
And any sort of magic or psionic resistance is effective on this, as is just being strongwilled. Or, if necessary, an individual or species can be stated to be specifically resistant or immune to the ability. It's powerful, yes, but it's intended to be, and there are plenty of ways around it,

I must be blind, C'nor, because I don't see your reply anywhere and I've scoured the DFI thread twice now

Expect my character 'Wanderer' to simply vanish. Please always err on the side of continuing without me. My schedule makes my posting patchy at times and I don't want to hold up other folks' fun.

I'm officially back! Whee! I should be able to post regularly for a few months :-)

Re: [Nexus] OoC 30
No, no, C'nor, not an idiot at all. It is easy to forget where one has and has not posted, doubly so when playing a plethora of characters.
Take your time getting the post up, I'm signing off for today. I might not be on tomorrow, just a warning.
BR, I know you posted at Remnant, thanks :-D, and I replied. If you could post there again soon I can get my next move going as soon as I get online tomorrow or Monday. Please with cheese?

Re: [Nexus] OoC 30
I've been gone for...4 weeks now? I lost track of a lot of things for awhile. Far too long for any of my more reasonable mental facilities which have, as of late, fallen into a state of atrocious disarray and disrepair. During finals week, I swore that I'd have a week's break from school and post a whole lot more, right? Well, I arrive home Friday all chipper, energetic, and raring to go only to find out...
We're moving.
And move we did. The event filched the majority of my time for most of the valuable week. What sparse time I did have that was unoccupied by menial labor overlapped with the periods where I was upset due to said transition. Posting here to notify everyone slipped my mind, and even if it hadn't, the post would've been written all moody and wrong. Not to mention internet access was soon gone for the most part.
Then school time came around again! I've been excessively busy since that point. Skyrim didn't help that situation at all. Neither did my dour mood, which I attribute to the gloomy weather and such up here. Melancholy had taken its toll on me until I met with a Star Wars RPG group formed out of 9 of my buddies last night.
Long story short, I'm back. And I've forgotten about much of what I was involved in before I left.
But every cloud has a silver lining! I've discovered, upon abbreviated review of my stylistic preferences, that I've been overusing the horror genre and I'm missing dramatic flair in most things of the same type that I post. I'll be dedicating more space to action/adventure-ish stuffs from here on out because aimlessly wandering around a dark labyrinth of a building while randomly plugging things into walls to see if they do or don't do something doesn't make for fun rp, I think, unless it is used sparingly.
So...yeah...
I don't know where I'm supposed to be posting now...
Or for what... >.<
