And if they do, Ivaz will probably tell Jurassico that he's an idiot for leaving in a way that'd let people follow him.

They were firing at Narahar while he was trying to get through the hatch, if you'll recall, so they had to be right next to it. Otherwise they would have been trying to shoot through the car's chassis.

Narahar was knocked off the vehicle before he got to the hatch, then when he got up he dodged the APC's acceleration and clambered atop it to kill a soldier (played by Rebo) hanging out of the hatch he's trying to enter. I thought the triplets were using another hatch to shoot him, not shooting him as he tried to enter a hatch before he got knocked off.

When the triplets were shooting at him, I thought they were using another hatch (it's an Armoured Personnel Carrier- it's going to have multiple hatches so infantry can disembark quickly) rather than shooting up as he opened the hatch because he was knocked off before he opened said hatch to be shot at.

Suppose that makes sense. I'd assumed the hatch was large enough for multiple people to fire out of, but your explanation works fine too.
