I actually like that pose, minus the sword high in the air. How I see it, it should be sheathed on the back of the waist, so the base of the sword can be seen, but not used. The hand that grips the sword is also grasping the staff, so there are two hands holding it. The right side of the torso remains unchanged.

The eyes may be difficult. Do you want me to do them all opaque, in a six-sided die manner?

My avatar is actually a downsized version of a much higher resolution (1000x1000) avatar. I was able to get in little details you might not even notice, like the swirls and waves on this robe. I hardly doubt it'll be impossible.

My dad used to put me in wrestling holds to "toughen me up". Of course, he wasn't a wrestler - he was an Army engineer. So, he didn't quite know what he was doing, and he was pretty strong.

He never injured me or anything, but he typically pinned me face-down (that is to say, face-against-the-carpet), holding at least one of my limbs just a little further than he probably should've. Sometimes he told me to tap out, other times he wanted me to say "uncle".

Some of those times he wasn't paying attention, so I'd end up not being able to do the thing he told me and having to do the other thing instead. That didn't usually work. Then again, I usually ended up having to do the original thing more loudly anyway, so I guess that went about the same in any case. Eventually he started telling me not to do those things, but if I didn't he would just hold me there (often cutting off my circulation) until I did.

And then he wondered why I have personal space issues.

Sorry about that, I wasn't able to get any sleep after that flashback...

Just a guess, but there are some...alluring Marvel female super heroes that are quite powerful, and the main focus of Bioshock 2 is an adorable and, again, somewhat sexy powerful women.

Uh, no. It's that comic books are generally seen as a property focused towards a specific gender. Not always male, but there are different publishers for different interests. For example, Marvel is about very action-filled, violent comics intended for the male audience. Not to say that women aren't in that demographic.

Same goes for Bioshock 2. And the allure of the game is actually a father-daughter relationship, between Subject Delta and Eleanor, not "sexy powerful women".

*hugs* I'm sorry you're not feeling good about it. It must be very frustrating if it keeps changing when you want it to stay still. Do you think meditation would help, to keep you focused? Not like, focusing on one gender to stay still, just to keep you grounded in yourself as your gender moves around where it will.

I'm sorry if I'm not "getting" something here, but it really seems like you're being fairly sexist, and your explanation didn't clear things up. As far as I can tell, you're recommending Helio to check around her (him, now?) for things that give cultural gender cues. So if he sees "boy" comic books, to guess he's more male and if she sees "girl" comic books, she's more female. But that doesn't make sense. Maybe if you didn't know 100 people's genders, you could try to guess them statistically based on cultural cues, since many people will adhere to their society's gender assumptions, but for one person, it just doesn't work. Helio (or anyone else) could easily have a female gender identity and culturally masculine interests.

    However, MUCH more importantly:

Maybe if you didn't know 100 people's genders, you could try to guess them statistically based on cultural cues, since many people will adhere to their society's gender assumptions, but for one person, it just doesn't work. Helio (or anyone else) could easily have a female gender identity and culturally masculine interests.
That's up to Heliomance, but for me, I see how my life has been directed, and what's come out of it. It's not necessarily a stereotype if I associate comic books with that, because I view them differently as a man than I do a woman. Same goes for games, which I could have likely picked a better game to explain than Bioshock 2. A little under half of the gamer "population" is female, so it's kind of a lost cause.

What I tried to say (and clearly didn't) is to look at how you were raised, what your interests were, how your paternal and maternal figures raised you, and sleep on that. It's not going to dictate your gender at all, but it should give you some direction.

I for one just chose the "screw it" option, and answer to either pronoun. I don't identify as either gender, and both as well.

I got VAC banned in COD: Ghosts for using an FOV changer.
I try not to think of how sad that is.

Whiskey was invented so people would more greatly appreciate the gastric horror that is beer. True story.

Try and find what you have based your life on until now. I feel like a woman sometimes, but then I remember I have a Bioshock 2 poster on my wall, and a Marvel Superheroes portrait above my bed. Whatever feels dominant, or correct.

Same goes for Bioshock 2. And the allure of the game is actually a father-daughter relationship, between Subject Delta and Eleanor, not "sexy powerful women".

I was raised well and lovingly, in a supportive and safe household. I enjoyed make believe, reading, and (when I got older and they started being a thing) computer games and the Internet. I'm really not seeing how any of that can possibly say anything about my gender.

I've already worked out that I'm genderfluid. I don't like this fact. I would be completely fine with any gender identity, if it would only stay still. What it's just done is dive fairly deep into female, and then just as I was starting to get comfortable with a female identity, changing my chosen name, wearing skirts and breast forms etc, it's taken a sudden swing back towards male, and the accompanying thoughts of "stop being stupid, this is who you are, you can't change it."

I had a really annoying feeling today when I didn't know what name to use for myself. I didn't know whether to use the new name that I'd chosen, which I had chosen to be gender neutral, or to stick with my old name because that's who I "really" am, and I'm stupid to be trying to change that.

And now I'm thinking about it, and realising that from this end, "Nay" doesn't sound like it could work as a guy's name and it's not as gender neutral as I thought and I maybe made a mistake in changing it and I've already got some people to start calling me that can I really change my mind without looking stupid and GAH WHY IS LIFE SO COMPLICATED?
