Exactly, you're both half wrong and half right. Lexi's got 10 or 11 intelligence. I'd say Lloyd's got 14 or 15 but that's subject to change (though not by much). Of the four in training in Kago, Miles obviously has the highest intelligence score, and decent wisdom too.

It's not a bad roll so much as an average roll. Intelligence isn't really important for paladins, so he probably put the average roll there so he could put a better score in, say, Strength or Charisma, which are more useful for paladins.

Well, then he became a paladin because his intelligence was only an average roll. Cause and effect swap.

Keep in mind that (As far as i am aware) this is merely a rough guideline and not the indication of any actual set-in-stone character sheet, further in most standard games you don't receive any bonuses for being one-quarter something, so assuming Lexi does get some bonuses/penalties for it, it would both be very miniscule and entirely homebrewed, given only because Coffee thinks it's significant enough for warrant it. (For example being 1/4 hobgoblin could probably be worth a +1 Dex bonus, but being 1/4 Elf is probably too human to really be worth anything special.)

Woah. Miles left his cloak behind with Rust. I hope Miles is a good Abjurer, otherwise, his escape plans are pretty much screwed.

He cast grease on his cloak and I guess the design provided a circumstance bonus to slipping out of it (if someone snagged the back of it the clasp would just snap), provided you leave the cloak behind. I'm not too good with grappling rules but the DC to escape Rust's Grasping Hand is extremely high and I don't think Miles would have been able to make it with a Grease spell alone.

Well, if Miles is high enough level (Which I'm not sure of), that's actually a pretty plausible idea. It saves space and adds a bit of security.

A big reveal, or something otherwise extremely interesting, I'd guess.

The main reason Miles would need to be a good Abjurer is because he's been wearing his cloak for so long. He's probably left a good deal of hair on it, which would give Rust a way to very easily scry him. That was the original reason I assumed Coffee had for letting Miles lose his cloak to the Grasping Hand.

Though, now that I think about it, there is a good chance that Miles got his cloak's clasp specially modified to give him a bonus on escaping grapple checks. This becomes even more likely when you consider that he's a caster who is currently very paranoid. Casters + grapple checks = screwed caster.

Ehhh it is generally accepted that Wizards, particularly mid to high level are incredibly paranoid, with several dozen contingencies (both in spell form and otherwise) prepared at any time. Not to mention that the ones that are paranoid by wizard standards are the ones that don't even adventure in their real world. They are Astraly projected from their own private demi-plane.

If Miles is 15th level or higher (which I doubt) he should cast Mindblank on himself every day. If there are psionics in Aequar assuming transparency is in effect he could use Limited wish (which requires level 14) to emulate Personal Mindblank as a Psychic Warrior 6 power). Other than that I guess he could cast detect scrying, nondetection and False vision to cover as many bases as possible and pump his will save through the roof.

Or maybe I am over thinking stuff again...

...In summary, he would need to be a decent Abjurer.

Mindblank is an 8th level spell, to cast it you would need to be a pretty good abjurer not merely decent, also limited Wish is from the Universal school and all the other spells are from other schools (Detect scrying is Divination and mislead is Illusion). I was also trying to expand upon your point.

Miles' highest spell level is 5th. That's why he's firing off Teleport scrolls after using it more than a couple times a day.

I know this is news you really don't want to hear, and I don't want to give it, but considering that I just spent the past hour curled up on my bed crying from the stress of having another exam and a paper due Tuesday, I don't think I can do the comic this week either.

I'll be honest: this isn't the news I wanted to hear.

You know what the news that I wanted to hear was? That you were feeling ok. The news that you were doing fantastic, enjoying college, and shedding stress. The tales of you having fun, with real people, in real life.

So I'll be praying for you, Coffee. Hope you feel better.

    The comic? It can wait.
