Jacob calls Birch back and slowly walks up to the creature, putting another round in it to make sure it's dead. Forgive me for doubting the combat prowess of an elderly man when this creature already killed two elders and lord knows who else. he hooks the puppies back up to Birch and nudges the creature with his bat What is this ugly sucker?

Brunswick - Apartments
From here it all depends on the apartment she chooses. A couple have rotting doors and broken windows, while others are relatively fine. There is one with boarded up windows with an oak door though, which is strange.

Hm. Strange isn't necessarily good... For now, she picks one of the fine ones, and, if she finds nothing odd there, unloads most of her non-essential gear, such as the Jet and Steady, before heading over to the odd one, and knocking on the door, plasma pistol ready, just in case.

"Squirrel stew, and keep the radiation to a minimum, I don't want to start growing extra limbs just yet anyway," She said in her usual scowlly way. "And a beer, and not the diluted piss stuff."

"Certainly, madam," it replies, in such a way that it could be seen as either an insulting (and incorrect) statement about her profession, or simply its programming telling it to refer to women with a specific term. Though if she remembers anything from last night, she might be aware that it doesn't use unneeded honorifics as a general thing...

In any case, regardless of whether or not she picks up on the fact that it chose to be rude to her, it gets her a beer, and a bowl of warm squirrel stew, unless something happens to prevent it from doing so.

He isn't too old, he only seems to be in his fifties...
Anyways, Elder Brown gets back up, hiding his sickle in the folds of his cloak.
"I don't know but...this can't be the one that killed the other Elders, I gave that one a deep cut on the right arm..."
Which there's no trace of it on this beast because it isn't the one that killed the Elders.
"That must mean there's more of them..."
((CMOT, the only nearby building at the Brunswick High School is the High School...which it'd be weird for the guy to have gotten ahead of them, went into the school, and then went to the roof. Could you maybe change it so that he just followed them?))

Brunswick - Apartments
Yes, the apartment she chooses(let's call it Apartment #3) is in perfectly okay condition. And, when she goes inside, nothing jumps out at her to kill her.
The only strange thing here though is the skeleton of a woman holding the apartment's key, and thankfully the door's lock is intact.
When she knocks on the oak door, an old woman opens it!
"Yes stranger? What can I do for you?"

Ember/Hunter shrugs.

"Nothing in particular... I was thinking about moving into [one of the other apartments that's fine but unoccupied], and this place looked different from the rest, so I figured I should see what was up with it. Clear out my neighbors if they were raiders, meet them if not, y'know?"

Rezzy-Brunswick Inn/Bar

Rezzy doesn't pick up on the insult because she doesn't care what some robot has to say about her, all she cares is that she gets her booze and stew. She took a drink of her beer first and then turned to Dominick with her usual expression. "Hey you, get yerself somethin' to eat, I'm in the rare mood to treat."

Ember/Hunter shrugs.

"Oh...well, lucky for you only good people live around these parts." she said, her hands shaking against the doorway, which is a sure sign that she's been eating human flesh.
"Would you like to come in for a drink then?"

Or that she's cold, sick, on or in withdrawal from some sort of drug, drunk... Lots of stuff it could be. It may be a sign that she's a cannibal, but it's basically a null data point right now because there are so many different options.

In any case, though, it does make Ember a bit more wary (as if she wasn't already paranoid enough ) and though she nods, she doesn't put her gun away just yet.

"Sure, if you don't mind."

The woman motions her to come inside the nice warm apartment. She motions her to the couch(which has stains from blood and a few bullet holes in it) while she goes into the kitchen and prepares drinks.
"What would you like to drink? Tea? Water? Whiskey?"

The bullet holes and blood make the mutant pause for a moment, and decide that sitting on the couch might be a bad idea. (Though, to be fair, what doesn't have bullet holes and bloodstains in and on it?)

"Water," the mutant requests, leaning casually against the door. After all, it's harder to mask the taste of something in that than it is the other two, and whiskey without anything in it could still impair her aim, make it harder to tell if the woman is actually a threat, and mess up her reflexes.

The woman comes back in with two glasses of water, pure clean water.
She places one on the coffee table for Hunter and sits down in a chair across from her.
"So...if you don't mind me asking, why do you look so...different?" she asked as she raised the glass of water to her lips, her hands still shaking.

Hunter smiles, sipping her water as well; her tongue darts out to get the droplets of water on her lips when she finishes, which reveals that it has a small barb on the end, as well a row of spines on each side, currently laying flat against it.

"The total for both of you is 21 caps," it says politely, apparently having gotten over its earlier offense.

"Oh my...does that mean one of those nasty super mutants abducted you once then?"
She looks a bit disturbed! A mutant in Brunswick? Unheard of!

Ember's grip on her glass tightens, nearly enough to damage it; it seems she's not too pleased with that comparison.

"No. It means I was exposed to a high dose of radiation and some of the same stuff that makes Super Mutants, but I am unrelated to them, or Ghouls," the mutant states flatly, subtly adjusting her aim so that she has a better shot at the woman. "Is that a problem?"

[Benson]

He looks over at her from examining the occupants.
Ah! A Nuka-Cola please! he hollers cheerfully after the android.

The thing gives a strange pseudo-nod, sliding a Nuka-Cola to him.

"The total for both of you is 21 caps," it says politely, apparently having gotten over its earlier offense.

That was surprisingly cheap with her stew and beer, since the Nuka cola by itself had a value of 20 Caps, she only had thirty caps. She turned to glower at Dominick. "Get something cheaper."

She stares at the gun.
"You know you could put away that gun...I'm unarmed after all."

It was infectious, Dominick's grin that is. Rezzy, the perpetual glowerer found herself, against her will, giving a tiny smile. But she still wasn't going to buy him a Nuka Cola, no matter charismatic his smile was.

"That's right...have a beer, none of that cola crap," She playfully slugged him in the shoulder.

Jacob looks between the corpse and the highschool Birch stay. Brown please stay here and make sure nothing eats the corpse or my dogs. I'm going to see if anyone survived at the highschool he loads an extra round in his gun so he has full chambers and starts walking towards the highschool, both weapons at his sides.

Hunter smiles a bit, and shakes her head, making no move to go along with that suggestion.

"No thanks. I haven't lived a hundred-and-fifty years by being trusting. Maybe if you hadn't suggested it, but any time someone asks me to put away my gun, it puts me on edge."

((It's been a while since I actually played the games, so I ended up counting the Nuka-Cola as only being worth half what it was. And I bumped the price for squirrel stew down, since the Inn has gotten smart about it and started breeding their own squirrels instead of paying people to hunt them.))

"That brings your total to 11 caps, or, if you prefer to earn a small amount of credit in addition, a minor task."

"Right...if you're a ghoul," She rolled her eyes.

"A minor task?" She narrowed her eyes. "What kind of minor task?"

"Capturing - though not killing - several mutant birds. They have certain properties and eating habits that are quite useful."

Speaking of ghouls, Emmet is walking up to the counter with a small bag of about twenty-five caps, waiting for the robot to come to him.
