Kickstarter Thread I: Cash for The Cash God

Promotion. Angry Joe put out his video recently.

Plus, people often wait until the last few days to see how close a project gets, so we'll probably see another surge then.

I waited until they came close to 9000 backers. I wanted to be among the top 9000 to get the Special Medal "Order of the Mandate"

I think pushing the deadline out to 60 days is actually counter-productive--Elite: Dangerous did the same thing, and they only just scraped through their target.

Yeah, I too think a deadline way over 30 days is counter-productive.
Every time I see a project with >~35 days I instantly get a bit suspicious (I still do back a project if I think it is worth it, considering that sometimes I have a vague feeling I just have to back a project, It could certainly be that this will tip the scale to not backing.)


And speaking of projects I just had the feel to back: Festival of Magic is an original adventure role-playing game and throwback to Japanese RPGs featuring Turn Based Combat.
And in my opinion the visual style just looks great - it just instantly hooked me up (backed it even before finishing the video ).

They even hit 2 of their official main stretch goals!! 600K will give us away missions on planets, while 700K (which they are technically 2,2k short of, but they have at least 13K worth of paypal pledges) will give us starbase boarding and operations!

An RPG in a box: The campaign source book, three 2-sided maps, and lots of minis. It is compatible with Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and Dungeon World. We are also including Tall Tale Studios "House Rules" which is a story telling component in case you don't have a system, or want to try something new. The box includes 10 minis, but we hope to expand that with your help.



Please feel free to ask questions about the Kickstarter and I'll try my best to answer them here. We think the video does a good job explaining our process, but I'm sure there are some areas to be explained further.

Duel Fighters is a game of cinematic type combats between highly detailed 75mm miniatures.

In contrast to other war-games, where you might field dozens or even hundreds of figures,in Duel Fighters the manageable scale and the reduced number of miniatures allows players to choose from a much greater range of options and actions, providing you with a range and depth of combat that you would usually only find in typical classic fantasy medieval RPGs.



The key cornerstone of our game is the large scale fully detailed miniatures, as well as the day to day objects that surround them.

Have you always wanted to be able to kick that rum barrel into your opponent or throw sand in his eyes to win a few precious seconds to finish him off?

Then this is the game you have been waiting for! Duel Fighters is a fast-paced game between two duellists that lasts for approximately 45 minutes …… or prior to that if you are DEFEATED!

Galaxy Defenders is a cooperative game with theme of alien attack movies from the 80s. It's already over 600% funded and has a ton of added content from goals. The game comes with high quality components and a bunch of minis. If anyone is interested here are a couple of pictures.

Dungeon Lords is making a special edition Kickstarter for their fifth anniversary. This great worker placement game is in the top 100 of BGG, albeit at 96.

In Dungeon Lords up to four players compete to see who can make the most difficult, evil dungeon and kill the most adventurers. Sounds like a fun contest, doesn't it?

The project is over 400% funded at the time of this post. If you like worker placement games, this is a good one and can be very vicious with an experienced group. The component quality is good and gets better with stretch goals...

It's full of branching paths, death, and hot boys. The decision-making aspect is modeled after Telltale's Walking Dead.

After a successful Kickstarter for the card game Boss Monster, where you play an evil boss monster trying to build a dungeon to lure and kill pesky heroes, Brotherwise Games has partnered with Plain Concepts and Power Up Audio to bring Boss Monster to the digital medium.

We are over 50% funded right now, and we have quite a few stretch goals planned ahead (new platforms, art/audio improvements...). I am one of the developers, so feel free to ask anything you want to know.

Its one of those good looking hand drawn sidescroller games.

The twist is you play as the Baddie Kidnapping princesses, and depending on who you have kidnapped effects the gameplay.

Also YOU are the boss monster with a Glowing weakspot attacking a smaller foe.

Money's really tight, but I'm gonna have to remind myself to fork over $7 for this. Really enjoyed the analog game.

We're currently running a Kickstarter Campaign for Solasta: Crown of the Magister: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...f-the-magister

It's a single-player Tactical RPG based on the OGL 5e ruleset, with turn-based combat on the equivalent of a 3D battle mat. The campaign takes place in a High Fantasy world named Solasta.
