Paul hoists up the two thugs, unhooking Hardcase as he does so.

I'd rather smack them around, but since Gerald said, let's just take 'em to the coppers. A couple less Pokemon killers on the loose. The dog, too, if it's ready to stop making googly eyes at your mon, Romeo. Come on, you two. Unless you'd rather be left to the mercy of Creep.

As he waits on Romeo and the crooks to respond he hoists up Hardcase and stares into his beady, buggy eyes.

Just imagine. It could have been you helping to stop these degenerates. Doing your part to help out a fellow Pokemon. But no. You'd rather sit there like a tick on that Poochyena's hindquarters. Aren't you tired of being a thing instead of a living, breathing, fighting creature? Wouldn't you like to contribute in a way that doesn't involve me or Buck tossing you around like a football?

Ethan fishes through Gerald's pack till he finds the wallet, taking a nosy peek inside.I don't think you have enough money to take care of it Gerald. I'll go with you. He offers the wallet to the tiny spider regardless.

She struggles to hold onto it, before shooting a line back to Gerald and wrapping all four pincers around it, drawing herself back and just clinging to his shoulder by a thread as he holds the remoraid. If this lived...well, if this lived, it would likely be the longest living member aside from her since the vulpix that was accidentally put down...

[Arcran]

Hardcase glares at you, then oozes that sticky goo all over your hand.

The bandits look at you in fear.

"No, don't turn us in! We gave you your stuff back! Please! We're just trying to survive out here!"

The Poochyena starts trying to mount Elly.

[Arcran]

Aquilla nuzzles the Pidgey. Please? She is very nice. He flies a bit off of the building and looks back. She's a really good trainer. Even fights when I'm not able to. Takes good care of her friends. He flies around in a circle around the Pidgey.

Aquilla, you can flirt with her when she's caught, you know. She lightly laughs. Come on, you silly little eaglet.

The Pidgey flies down, chasing Aquilla playfully, looking at you with interest.

He stuffs the Kakuna in the wasitband of his grimy sweatpants.

You know where you can survive easier? Jail. Getting a signal, Romeo? Or do we need to march them down personally?

Okay, calmer. Friendly. Crap, why didn't you grab food? Would have lured befriended it with that. She gives Aquilla a message to simplify to the Pidgey. Hey, see you finally came. Aquilla finally convinced you to come down. Aquilla has been getting kind of lonely and I thought he needed another flying friend. An...acquaintance of mine recently lost a Pidgey in an accident, and I feel a bit responsible for what happened, so since we are working with him, I was wondering if you would be willing to come along with us. You two seem to have taken an interest in each other. I figure I can kill two bir- actually, that expression is terrible here... At least Aquilla could edit out the stuttering and screw ups. I figure it would solve several problems. I can try to make peace with him, Aquilla gets to make a friend, and we can get you something to eat besides scraps. You look starved. Aquilla tries to communicate the general message as best he can, mostly focusing on the food. Artemis holds out a ball for the Pidgey if Aquilla is actually able to convince it.

And he bursts in, holding the ball in front of him as he pants at the desk.
"Help...remoraid egg hatched early...pair of bums stole it and tried to eat it...Joe needs help..."
He pushes the ball forward and picks Sparky off his back, emptying the wallet.
"All I have a the moment...friend coming to help. Please, first new pokemon to make it this far in years. Help."

[Arcran]

And he bursts in, holding the ball in front of him as he pants at the desk.
"Help...remoraid egg hatched early...pair of bums stole it and tried to eat it...Joe needs help..."
He pushes the ball forward and picks Sparky off his back, emptying the wallet.
"All I have a the moment...friend coming to help. Please, first new pokemon to make it this far in years. Help."

A nurse rushes over, grabbing the Pokeball with a dissproving look and rushing into the backroom with the Pokeball, ignoring your money.

Ethan runs in behind Gerald, panting. He hadn't run this much since he played soccer in Trainer School. He always hated the running. I *huff* I can pay *huff* if need be. Ethan bends over, trying to catch his breath.

Romeo look at Elly a little scared.

'Okay, jail time it is. That or I let her do that again, but to you.'

Paul looks at the obliterated remains of the Poochyena.

That seemed a trifle unnecessary, Romeo. But yes, try to run and there's more of that for you. I assume.

Gerald slowly picks up the money, hand shaking from nerves.
"He's in emergency care now...pay when he gets out, I guess."
He goes over to a chair and sits, head in hand and Sparky patting his shoulder.

Ethan sits down next to Gerald, Ollie jumping into his lap. He trumpets into Gerald's ear, smiling mischeviously. Ollie! What the hell dude? Not cool! Ethan put a cautious hand on Gerald's shoulder. Sorry. Don't worry, he'll pull through.

She lets the Pidgey back out. "Well first thing's first: You look like you're starving." Artemis heads to a mart on the Psychic side of town. "Two day's worth of food for two flying types, both of whom like sweeter food." Fruit would probably be good for Columa, and for Aquilla...probably some smoked meat. Some of those are smoked to be really sweet tasting. She eventually finds what she needs. Hm, should grab something for me too. She grabs a bottle of juice and a sandwich, and returns to her spot in front of the gym. Not high quality food at all, but edible. Aquilla seemed to be enjoying his smoked Rattata. How long has it been since they texted? Nine minutes? She pulls out her phone and texts Ethan. -All well?-

BZZZT! Ethan reaches into his pocket and fishes out his pad. He reads Artemis' texts, both of them. He quickly responds -All fine. With Gerald at Dojo Center. Bums tried cooking the egg, it hatched prematurely. Its in ICU now. Romeo and Paul are taking care of the bums.-

Good, things were...not as bad as they could have been. -Best wishes for Gerald. Seems to have it rough. Wish I could help w/either problem. Regroup at Gym. Hammer out plans.- She breathes a sigh of relief. Everything might actually turn out okay in spite of everything. She finishes her sandwich and starts watching any battles going on. She starts playing with creating light breezes of air, but can't seem to focus well enough to get them to even shake the paper from the sandwich wrapper. Oh well. She tosses it in the trash and returns to scanning passing Pokémon.

Gerald looks up sadly, not really noticing the trumpet as he remembered bad times.
"You mean like the past seventeen attempts to have a second pokemon did? I am likely the only person you'll meet who's had a shedinja destroyed in front of them. Just caught him, hadn't even grabbed the ball, even, when a golbat swooped down and ate it. Then when that was nearly caught, a graveler fell on it at terminal velocity, destroying all three pokemon."

You got him to a Center. He is in the best hands possible. Stop moping. It will keep happening if you do.

[Arcran]

Almost two hours later the nurse appears from the ICU, a Pokeball in her hand.

"He made it, but only just," she says, handing you the ball. "Take it easy on him for the next few weeks, he's really weak," she says, heading back, either forgetting to charge you or just being a nice person.

Bandit Beaters:

The two look at you with fear, looking at the mangled remains of the horndog.

"We won't run," they assure you.

Romeo grabs one of the guys by the collar and starts to drag him to the police station.

'Sorry about the dog, by the way. She usually isn't that agressive. But at least look on the bright side. You are going to get arrested by thee 'Paul Ticker'. And I'm helping, how cool is that.'

Paul snags the other and heads off, Kakuna in his pants and both Creep and Buck following along.

He gently picks up the ball. This little guy...he lived. He lived!
He looks to Ethan and Ollie, truly smiling for the first time in a long time as he put the ball on a belt holster.
"He lived! You hear that? He gets to live!"
He stands up, and grabs the bag.
"Alright! Thanks for being here, Ethan. There are notes in my dex on how to make a more efficient arm and neural pathways and connections. Feel free to copy them while I go get dressed, and then I'll get things done for everyone. You can count on me for that!"

Romeo, did I ever tell you that you're my favorite? Because you are. Now move it you lazy blokes!

Paul snags the other and heads off, Kakuna in his pants and both Creep and Buck following along.

Soon enough you manage to drag the two hobos to a police station. They protest the whole way, but don't actually try to escape.
