Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
One by me:
Spoiler
For those of you that don't know what a Dread Barbarian is:
SpoilerA Dread Barbarian is an ECL 2 character, it takes the Symbiote Template (Savage Species) in conjunction with a Dread Blossom Swarm (MM 3).
This gives it near invulnerability, thanks to Regeneration 5 Fire/Cold. We can bypass this by giving the Dread Barbarian the following feats: Blazing Beserker, Frozen Beserker and Extra Rage twice. Because Dread Blossom Swarms are now eligible for feats, any race can pick them up.
This means that while raging, a Barbarian only ever takes non lethal damage. Except from Searing Spell, of course. But Piercing Cold throws that into doubt, IMO.Open the lid and snatch a homebrewed treat from Cookie's Jar

A quick Google search later…
Although I'm not entirely sure why that would be funny… Probably some inside joke.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
Eh. It's sort of stereotyping. There's three big supermarket chains, and people associate personality characteristics with people who shop at one or the other. This one is just funny because the image it builds is sort of trying to be pseudo-posh (i.e. they charge more for the same quality), so it is kinda funny together with the image.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
So kinda like the Wal-Mart/Target dichotomy here in the states (with a local supermarket chain thrown in for the third side).
(With Wal-Mart being seen as the ubiquitous, cheap stores filled with Rednecks, Target being slightly cleaner, nicer, but more expensive, and local stores… vary by region. Coop would be the equivalent of Target in this example, or possibly a bit more upscale…)

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
Nah. The thing is, the big two are Migros and COOP. They sell more or less the same product, they are equally clean, quality is a bit back and forth, but COOP charges just slightly more money for everything, which is a reason for some people to prefer it over the competitors.
But I suppose an Anime hero called Walmart would be equally strange to Americans.Last edited by Eldan; 2013-03-02 at 02:58 PM.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
Walmart actually sounds like a pretty realistic Germanic name. "Walmart the Conqueror! Walmart the Wise! Walmart the Stalwart! Walmart the Full-Shelved!" If it wasn't such a well-known store, I'm pretty sure the name would be used somewhere like that.
Finnish doesn't really have much things like this... one thing that seems to amuse young people is the legendary Siwa Oasis, and in particular the oracle therein: Siwa is a Finnish store that's stereotypically considered popular among young wannabe-thugs who buy cheap energy drinks there. The hilarity of that is somewhat lessened by the fact that the store is probably intentionally named after the oasis in the first place.
I do run into some funny names in a D&D context though, and there's one right on the tip of my tongue... can't quite remember what it wasLast edited by SilverLeaf167; 2013-03-02 at 03:31 PM.

The only other thing I can think of is the horribly mangled "German" Games Workshop likes to use for Warhammer.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
Honestly, the terrorist that got kicked is the one who critically fumbled. Iirc, he tried to drive a van full of propane tanks into an airport to blow it up, crashed well outside the building, killing his buddy and setting himself on fire, THEN got nutted so hard the guy who kicked him injured himself. Quite possibly the only way to take his mind off the fact that HE WAS ON FIRE. I may have confused my idiot terrorists though, there are a lot of them.

Re: D&D Demotivators Episode VI: Return of the JPEG
Ok, I wanted to post a picture for others to make demotivators with.
Unfortunately, photobucket is down atm. I'm impatient.
So, anyone care to make demotivators out of the picture that headlines this article?
