Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
@happyturtle: I was referring to if everyone did agree, and was not suggesting it.
@Gulaghar: I think the question is actually of if it is the entire planet (he mentioned MagSat, which implies a satellite in orbit around a planet)
@Magtok: That's why I mentioned "that we generally consider to include the surrounding area". That was meant to cover "not Inside"
@Serph: Yeah, but nerds just want to have fun, and explaining paradoxes is fun.I follow a general rule: better to ask and be told no than not to ask at all.

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
*coughs* If the Nexus is a city which includes the surrounding area, and we're assuming Inside to be that city, then Riverside and all the other "city" locations are cities within a city.
City city city city.
Get my point? It's much easier to just let the Nexus be itself, rather than argue over it and use terminology that muddles the point.Julie, everyone's nth favorite succubus, by Gulaghar.
An amazing Misha, Mimi, and Riss painting done by Ofride.
For anyone in plots run by me, know that I always tailor solutions to those in the plot. The answer may not be obvious, but it's there, and doable by the displayed abilities of the present characters. If you need help or hints, I'll try to be available to provide them.

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
The only way to explain the Nexus is this.
1. Cut and light a mild cigar.
2. Put on some Ricky Eat Acid in the background, preferably the track "king of all rollerskaters".
3. Get a bowl of Doppelkek cookies.
4. Mumble "well the nexus like it's this like
this place and like
yeah"
5. Forget explanations and eat some cookies.Last edited by Beans; 2012-05-22 at 09:34 PM.

@Firefox - Rebo has mentioned to me that he has nothing to add in GLoG. Just so you don't end up waiting for him.
@McBish - Sorry about being slow in BDD. I tend to struggle when conversation scenes get lengthy. I think I'll find some way for Kirk to excuse himself at this point. *nodnod*

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
Sadly I don't have a funny picture, but I for one have always assumed that all the teleporting, plotcloning and blatant violations of space-time have twisted the Nexus into roughly the shape of a ball of yarn.

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
It's annoying when it won't backtranslate what it translated in the first place.
That sentence is "if we ever meet again," basically.

Wuh oh!
The artifact that was holding Freddie's human soul just busted after rezzing him. Which resulted in the Huldra unintentionally devouring his own human soul >_>
This has resulted in a big power boost!
It has also resulted in his disposition being pushed more toward Discord. Practical application?
He'll soul-nom people he considers to be evil without shredding a tear for them. Before he had avoided doing so and would have felt awful after doing so.
IN FACT!
I'ma have him nom someone right now!Warning! Random Encounter™ detected!

Hey, Rebonack, would you mind someone running into Winifred while she's fleeing from the murder scene? Not someone likely to attack her, mind, just a character I've been meaning to re-introduce.

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
I'd appreciate not being told that I've been doing it wrong for the past three years.
My view is that Nexus is whatever the hell people say it is. If some people say it's a city, it's a city. If some people say it's a planet, it's a planet. If some people say it's a giant, intergalactic were-seal that noms other planets for fun and profit, then it's a spoon.
Everyone's gonna have different interpretations, and I think it's probably better if we don't go around trying to decide on a 'correct' one.Originally Posted by Lord Magtok

The Alexandrian, just to clear things for the theater plot. The woman who first shot on the stage was Percilia? Or did I read that wrong

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
Don't forget that Outside is a part of the Nexus in addition to what you are defining as the Nexus. Outside covers anything outside of the city of Inside. Therefore, the Nexus is not merely a city-state, conglomeration of cities, a territory, a continent, a world, a universe, or a cosmos. It is everything and everything associated with that everything in the infinite number of dimensions that exist and some that don't (even though that is mathematically impossible with our current understanding of math). And that everything+ is viewed and measured differently for everyone, so nobody can even conjecture as to what the Nexus is as a general rule of thumb and force that regulation/principle upon every single poster that is or ever will be because the possibilities are, and are intended to be, truly limitless. A (subjectively) good analogy to the Nexus as I comprehend it is color theory! Do I know that what I perceive as the color pink looks exactly the same to you? Nope! Heck, by the whole existentialism reasoning system we can't even conclusively prove that anyone exists other than the observer himself/herself!
Town might have been different, but I wouldn't know the first thing about Town.
Instead of debating what the Nexus is or is meant to be, let's try to answer a simpler paradox that is, in my belief, not as complicated or convoluted as the Nexus phenomenon.
True or False: This statement is false.
-------
@Zefir: Yes! Percilia did shoot at the actors first! She was a part of the crowd when she shot, not on stage, though. She took a couple steps toward the stage, but didn't climb up onto it.
-------
Also, sorry to hear about your leg, noodle. Hope its condition drastically improves soon!Last edited by The Alexandrian; 2012-05-23 at 01:57 AM.

Kris, how much liberty can I take with Watch's new modular obstacle course? As in, what devices and simulations can be expected to be featured there?

Re: [Nexus] OoC XXXI
I imagine that most of the things on the obstacle course would have to be physical objects. No hard-light constructions or anything like that, this ain't X-Men. There might be a few ordinary hologram projectors though. Otherwise... go crazy, I guess. Traps, flamethrowers, dart throwing robotic monkeys, swinging blades, big, Indiana Jones style rolling balls of doom... okay, maybe not the last one. I suppose it would be pretty hard to get into place, and then retrieve after, even with robotic assistance.
Just do whatever you think would be reasonable to have. I think you of all people should be able to come up with something firmly grounded in plausability.Originally Posted by Lord Magtok
