HOORAY! I counted the days, waiting, reading up on my favorites, and then there it was! The darkened color of unclicked text is beautiful ! Tarquin did really good but im glad hes not going to solo them or anything.

Elan seems particularly self-aware at this point.

Classic. Love Durkon being thrown by the beard. Painful, but awesome.
Thanks to this wonderful link on how to make an avatar.

Love how tarquin expects Elan to be an incredible warrior. I am not sure he realizes how useful Elan is in fights for the OOTS.

The "Thog" pose is fraying at this point.
Also, fun fight.

"Hold Person"
"OK"
That's awesome. I must remember to use that in one of my own games.

Re: OOTS #851 - The Discussion Thread
Was Tarquin trying to avoid hurting his son, or was he genuinely too confused to attack?
I suppose it could be both.

Re: OOTS #851 - The Discussion Thread
That was great. Tarquin finally puts his money where his mouth is, only to be brought down by his own overestimation of Elan's abilities. Beautiful.
And yes, this actually might be the first time we've ever seen the Order do this well three-on-one.
A minor complaint, though - am I the only one who felt the end was slightly abrupt somehow? I feel like this strip might read a bit better in the collection.

Re: OOTS #851 - The Discussion Thread
The attack from Roy looks like it might hurt Tarquin. It looks like he used correct grammar when he spoke to Elan. Looks like his disguise is slipping.

Re: OOTS #851 - The Discussion Thread
Digging this comic. It shows that Tarquin is a dangerous foe, more than able to handle several people at once, but the last panel shows he's not invincible, and the Order still have a chance to prevail. A good balance.
"They couldn't know that the points from the mainline to the siding were frozen, and the signal should have been set at 'DANGER', but snow had forced it down."

Woah, that's ALOT of feats. But then again, that's what warriors do.

Exciting!
Three arrows from Haley...does that say something about her current level? My 3.5 knowledge is weak.

Well, that was pretty awesome. Looks like not-thog is having a pretty good time (although whether the last panel affected him badly or not remains to be seen).

Re: OOTS #851 - The Discussion Thread
Assuming this was not her using rapid shot (Far more likely either a regular attack or manyshot), this simply confirms that she is at least level 15. The class and level geekery thread seems to have known this for some time.
Edit: Forgot that regular attack is the same number of arrows as manyshot.Last edited by Kranerian; 2012-05-01 at 01:33 AM.

Ahahaha!
Elan is useful! I wonder if he will catch on Taqruin's grammar.
Btw, how do you catch arrows in D&D? And what's the damage when being stabbed by an arrow?

Anyone else wondering if the now-invisible spikes on Tarquin's helmet will be important later?

Re: OOTS #851 - The Discussion Thread
Always read a comic several times when it goes up. Something I caught on maybe the fifth read: Durkon has used Hold Person on Thog before. Even ignoring Thog's awful will save, Durkon still must have been really surprised to have it fail.
Also, obviously Elan's plan was to serve as a distraction so the rest of the team could land some attacks. He's a brilliant tactician, that one.
