Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
True, but I think it's been a while even when you just count my brief appearances. I do find it funny though that this is the avatar that many consider to be the "classic" one for me, even though I used the silver angel one for a good year or two before this one. Ah well.
Don't eat me!
For some reason I couldn't stop chuckling when I read this.Last edited by DraPrime; 2012-05-17 at 10:05 PM.

Making a presentation on Walden while listening to Sum 41. I have to deconstruct a passage. I have a feeling Thoreau wouldn't approve of my musical accompaniment. Serves him right.
Not that I dislike the passage. I got to choose it. But still. Transcendentalism. Beurk .

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
Better in some instances and crappier in others, thus making a net difference of 0 ; I would imagine, though, that a playing card is more difficult to control, the flick of the wrist must be performed at a certain angle, power and control. And there's a temporal aspect to it as well.
The Sandman comics are indeed truly great. Which brings me to a certain conclusion and possibly unpopular opinion. Neil Gaiman should not write long novels (I'm looking at you American Gods), but should instead stick to short stories (I really liked Fragile Things) or graphic novels, and creating mythologies.
I also have Anansi Boys, so I may need to re-evaluate my opinion once I've devoured that.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
I'm kinda-sorta with you there. Fragile Things is great, Smoke and Mirrors is apparently even better.
I actually enjoyed Anansi Boys more than American Gods. But to each his own, as they say.
But Sandman wins.
I liked Cheshire Fry. His voice makes me happy.Last edited by Feytalist; 2012-05-18 at 02:56 AM.

From the discomfort of truth there is only one refuge and that is ignorance. I do not need to be comfortable, and I will not take refuge. I demand to *know*.
So I guess I have an internets? | And a trophy. | And a music cookie (whatever that is).

Define "intelligent". Right now, you could be anything between a partial vegetarian and a restrained cannibal
Don't worry, it's mostly healed now. I was afraid that my wrist had taken a hit and would get all swollen, but it seems to have been spared, and I can without any problems use it for quite heavy tasks, like wielding an oversized saw.

I'm back up north again, playing lumberjack in the somewhat reduced mess, but this time around I've also got a swarm of younger cousines climbing all over my back. We managed to take down a pine tree that had fallen down onto and gotten stuck in another pine. The forces were astronomous, so cutting the stem and the various branches was done in record time. One branch, ca 10 cm wide, snapped right off when I only had gotten 1,5 cm into it with the saw!Clouddreamer Teddy by me, high above the world, far beyond its matters...
