I can't either, but that doesn't mean it's easy. I guess I just sympathize with them in a way as a lot of people say comics/sequential art isn't art (and when I am drawing, that's what I do by and large) and I feel it is.

The sad thing is that post-modernism has reached a point where you can have "art" without intention, you can accidentally art. I can't stand primitive art, but I respect it, post-modernism, unless it actually holds value on its own and is not a critique of something else, or something that requires so much knowledge of context is worthless to me. Context should make something better, not absolutely required to understand even the superficial level, convince me to find the context, not ask me to find it to get the damn thing.

Hello world. Why you mock me?
I have basically four and a half hours of classes today, and I was intending to get up at seven to see if I could squeeze in two Practice Things That Should Not Be Named before setting off my class number one.
Except I woke up early (read:didn't actually get off to a proper sleep, but had a very nice deep doze) around six with a very painful and hot eye that was freely weeping. I stayed in bed because ow and sleep, but took me until quarter to eight to actually get up.
And fifteen minutes to tend to it. I still look like someone who's been punched in the eye.
    I feel like drek.
And I really cannot afford to miss any of these classes today. So I shall persevere and do the Thing That You're Not Meant To Do With Eye Pain - look at a bright screen and type!
Why you mean to Curly world? She just wants to enjoy herself.

There is only one solution: eye patch.

It also happens to be the most dashing option.

Even better: eye patch + monocle?

Also, surely someone has one lying around from some pirate-themed something in the near past. If your university is anything like mine was, you can't go more than a month without tripping over a pirate-themed something.

Nothing I can get my hands on at short notice. Like, less than an hour now. And wouldn't the monocle be weird because I'd be wearing mismatched eyewear and squinting terribly?
Plus it's probably a faux pas to wear something piratical to a class that will inevitably talk about First - Third Crusade era France and it could be seen as a 'subtle' commentary on my part (as if I think like that (oh wait . . . )). Also this may or may not be the lady I had a chat with in a pub for an hour about a week ago.

    Hello Classic Who!
    That...sounds utterly horrofying.

Walking, believe it or not, is fairly quick. Cities are more often then note designed to work in such a way that pedestrian traffic moves swiftly. So don't be surprised you can walk an entire city, minus the suburbs, in 20 minutes. They designed it that way.

Also, maybe you're fitter then you think?

Yeah, it pretty much is. And there are only two ways of dealing with it (usually) - wait it out and let the infection drain naturally or lance it.

    True.
And Oxford is the car-hating capital of the country. And I suppose I could be fitter than I think, I spent a quarter of last year at the gym for an hour every day, so something must have come out of it.

    Speaking of car-hating: cyclists.
Oxford is infected by them. And they are rude.
Now pedestrians in Oxford don't exactly pay attention to lights or road safety. Basically, if you think you can make it across the road before traffic comes (other than bikes because you can stop for those) you cross.
Now with bikes generally you just pause a bit before you enter their path and they cycle past you or they slow down to indicate you can cross.
So I was crossing the road and the lady on the bike slowed down as I paused. This means 'go ahead'.
But I was walked into her path she picked up speed and said "Stupid cow." Now while I might be a cow - let's face it, everyone's been a cow at some point in their life, I most strenuously object to the 'stupid'.
I'm not stupid, I'm selectively intelligent.

And that's what cyclists are hated more than cars.
    Because they think they're entitled.

Some of the greatest books I've ever read happen to be those two books.

Oh dear. Good luck with however you're dealing with it.

And don't be so hard on yourself, I doubt you're a cow, and you're certainly not more or less selectively inteligence then anyone else.

As for the cyclists...well, they DO tend to be pompous. "I'm being eco friendly AND working out. Clearly I am superior to you vehiclist and pedestrians, and thus get to go on the sidewalk AND road whenever I want"

Even though they aren't, they are required by law to be on the road only. People still do it, le sigh. This is when one should just bust out the roller skates. They're still considered pedestrian traffic AND they're cooler then bikes.

3rd option combines the "wait it out" option - get some eye cleaning stuff. It's painful but it worked wonders when I was battling stys.

Postmodernism is, simply put, a critical look at what is "known", or if anything CAN be "known" about the universe. It's deconstructivist: it takes everything apart, and looks at it skeptically; Why do we form societies?
Postmodernism is basically just a rejection of traditional modes of thought. Aesthetic-wise, it's reactionary: postmodern art is a reaction to modernist art. That's really all it is, art-wise.

I refuse labels because I don't want to pigeon-hole my work. If I label my work as, say, "abstract", then I'm barred from doing anything "concrete", because it's not my "style". Rather, I refuse all labels on my work, because I'd rather my work be judged on its own merits, rather than being rejected because "I don't like such-and-such genre." In addition, by refusing to label my work, it means that any time I "deviate" from the usual style of my work, it's not considered as a separate body of work, but as another facet, perhaps previously unseen, of my entire body of work, of my style.

As for primitive art... Basically, there are many ways for something to be art.
    A) If it is deemed to be aesthetically pleasing
    B) If it is deemed to be thought-provoking
    C) If it is deemed to be emotion-provoking
Whether it is INTENDED to do any of the above is irrelevant, in my opinion. For me, "primitive" art almost ALWAYS hits all of the 3 points above.

However this is most definitely a stye (a lump on the inside of your eyeball full of infection) as I've had several of them before.
    Ouch. Styes suck. >.<

That said, I seem to remember them making antibiotics for them from when I had mine. Not sure if they were as eyedrops or orally, though, I may be confusing that with the times I scratched my cornea or the time I had an infection...

True, but at the time of posting Boots was probably shut.
. . . Aaaaand the last time I had medication for a stye I couldn't use it! IT WAS AN EYEDROP!
I cannot handle those things near my eyes!

Most likely was eyedrop - treat the source of infection and all.

And yes, maybe you should kind of take better care of your eyes. You need them to see.
And without them you possibly can't see us!

@CurlyKitGirl: If you're positive that it's a stye, there is a fourth option available. If you can get your hands on a couple of heat compresses, gently applying them to your stye once per day should cause it to clear up a bit quicker.
