I really like Ty Lee though. Thirtysomething Ty Lee that aged gracefully would look even better than teenager Ty Lee.

So yeah, the coin toss saying earthbender means I'm going to play a chi-blocker.

Well, I was originally thinking of making an earthbender specializing in metalbending, but I'm almost seriously thinking of making a Combustion Man-esque character. In case you couldn't tell from that, I've been rewatching the series because I can't remember much of it. It's taken a while, but I've only got a few episodes left now.

Well, Sosumi has a nice bit of backstory to work with...

Other than that, we need to get our characters to meet each other somehow. We can't interact with each other if we're scattered around the continent, can we?

What if...just stay with me here...what if everyone starts off in Ba-sing-se, we meet some people, and then everyone splits off in there own different journey?

The city seems big enough.

And who would run those different journeys? I agree with PurityIcekiller, and I'd like to add that we need some sort of goal for our characters. We can't just send them out and hope something happens.

In that case, we need some sort of large and epic event that effects everyone. I don't exactly know what, but something big. It would force everyone with different backgrounds to venture, or something.

Guys: "You wake up in an unknown forest, surrounded by strangers. Two of them are girls. You're all naked."

Girls: "You wake up in an unknown forest, surrounded by strangers. Most of them are guys, and there's only one other girl. You're all naked."

Okay, I wouldn't really want it to start that way. We should be wearing clothes. Otherwise, it's a decent start if everyone has a reason to be at the coast in part of the United Republic. Another way is just have every one start in the (then in-construction?) Republic City.

*sigh* I admit I don't like the idea with the Lion Turtle very much, but if that's what everyone else wants, I'll of course go with it. But frankly, I don't see how it should be anything grand and epic... some more down-to-earth goal would work just fine.
However, if we do end up using it... what interest would the Lion Turtle have to bring us random shmucks together?

It turns out the Lion Turtle picked our characters out for some boring and mundane task. Why? Because we were conventient that's why. Lion Turtles can be lazy too!

In all seriousness, I'm with Morty on this one. I'd prefer a city environment (like Ba Sing Se or Republic City) with some minor plotty elements run by various people going on in the background, or maybe some sort of overarching mystery. It gives more flexibility, and makes it easier for new players to jump in too. I won't complain if we go for the Lion Turtle Quest thingy though. I'll just warn you that my character would be entirely helpless in the wilderness.

Hell, she'd be entirely helpless in a city too, but at least then she has attendants to look after her. She's spoiled like that.

We don't really need to look very far for a plot. The end of the War, the disturbance in the colonies and then the creation of the United Republic of Nations are rife with plot hooks.

I vote for city start. Ba Sing Se is okay, but I'd prefer Republic City.

Do you guys think Ty Lee should be on Kyoshi Island, or in Republic City? Tradition would demand Kyoshi Island, but she's not really the type to stay in one place for more than a decade.

You've got a point Jade. Also I would vote for the city start as well. Probably Rebublic city. I mean the Loin Turtle thing sounds cool, but it didn't even seek Aang out. He just found it by accident due to his avatar mojo. It is highly doubtful that we would be candidates.

I agree with starting in Republic City, since Sosumi has much more interest in going there than hanging out with lion turtles, and I think it would be good if everyone could find their own reason to be there. A big global plot won't necessarily motivate everyone. Individual motivations are more certain to work.

What about a group of Ozai loyalists trying to take over Ba Sing Se in secret? That could create many small things for characters to investigate, an overarching plot and a plausible way for the authorities to not get involved.

And now to make a character. There were other noble-ish families outside of the ruling family in the Nortehrn Tribe, right? I am considering making a character who is a bit sheltered and possibly ran away without realising how dangerous the world is. ^_^'

Well, the idea was that they were people who still wanted the Fire Nation to rule the world and the other nations either subdued or destroyed. Not sure what to call them, though. :3

I'm pretty sure it was Aang and Zuko who came up with the idea. But the second part of the Promise comics has yet to come out.

He is. But he told Zuko before that he would ask for help, because ruling is hard. And he was right. I'm not sure how canon it is, but the devs seem in full support of the guys who made that plotline. It's two comic books by Dark Horse called The Promise.

Like I said though, I'm pretty sure it wasn't Ozai who came up with the idea.

Now, if I were to suggest something, I'd say terrorists from the Earth Kindgom and Southern Water tribe who belive the Fire Nation is getting off easy and trying to make them "pay" by attacking the colonists and even Fire Nation citizens.

Of course, nothing's stopping us from running several plots, each run by a different player and starring a few characters.

I was actually planning to make a character from the Southern Water Tribe as my 'non-bender' character, so he could easily be one of the terrorists, if that's the idea we like.

It's better to start off small, and have new threads added as they're needed, rather than having a whole bunch of threads that are likely to fall into disuse. Until a certain location gets enough posts to justify being its own thread (usually when it starts drowning out all the other posts in the thread) it's better off as a location tag.

I don't want this to be Nexus. This is a defined world, you can't add areas like "Outside" ("Wilderness") or "Inside" ("Some city"). You can define new areas, but you can't make vague areas that could be anywhere in the Earth Kungdom, Fire Nation, or United Republic.
