    I'm unsure about Medalist in general. I have always liked the general idea behind one who primarily uses the powers of your foes, like with Blue Mages. Its just that I have mixed feelings about the reliance on magic items for its class features. There isn't anything wrong with it per se, it just doesn't quite sit right with me. I do not have any strong objections, at least that I can articulate.

    I do have an idea though: give them a class feature that lets the Sentai use the higher of their hit dice or the hit dice of the monster crystallized, instead of the lower of the two. Maybe slot it in the mid teens or make it a [Self] ability.

    Also, medalist made me check Monster Crystallization, which caused me to notice these misspellings:
    Benefit: Tsentai's suit contains features that transform the defeated esscence of a foe into a small token that the Sentai may use to temporarily boost their own abilities.This ability allows the Sentai to, after dealing the finishing blow to a creature, make a Knowlegde Check (based on the type that would normally be required to determine information about the creature) with a DC of 15 + the creatures HD, to create a Henshin booster from the foe, which contains one of the creatures supernatural or extraordinary abilities, chosen by the DM. An ability that grants spell-like or psi-like abilities, or otherwise provides multiple abilities, cannot be crystalized.

    Prism Ranger:
    My first thought? I'd been hoping for some form of Disgaea reference. My second thought was the question "Is there a point in restricting the number of [Suit] abilities you can have differ between forms?" Would it not be simpler to say something like:
    Form Gain: At first level, a Prism Ranger gains the ability to access multiple forms of their powers. While in Henshin, as the same action you took to enter Henshin, you may change from your normal hero suit to a second form, with similar abilities to your normal suit's.

    The new form(s) you gain access to have the same number abilities as your primary form. When you gain access to a new form, you may choose a number of [Suit] abilities for which you possess the prerequisites for the new form equal to the number of [Suit] abilities possessed by the original form. All [Suit] abilities of the original form are replaced by those abilities. Whenever you gain a [Suit] Sentai ability, all of your forms also gain a [Suit] Sentai Ability, which need not be the same Sentai Ability.

    At levels 5 and 10 you gain access to a new form.

    Yeah, I get where you're coming from.

    Which is why I put Crystalization in at 5th- you've gone 2 levels without improving your suit. Have fun copying enemies from now on.

    That was already suggested. I'll probably combine it with the 13th ability, or just give it to them at 10.

    Yeah I only noticed the link and name mention after my brain decided to work.

    Let me familiarize myself with the new ins and outs of the class and I'll see what I can offer. I was kind of thinking of a firearm specialist archetype a la Carter Greyson, but for all I know that's already done.

    This class is amazing, and is a big part of what inspired me to join this community. I was a bit surprised by the low Fort and Will saves, but it makes sense as a balance thing.

    At the moment, I am pondering a short (three to five level) PrC for ex-Sentai that basically follows a plot arc of regaining their powers, and lets them step back into their Sentai role having earned a few new tricks by going without them.

    Hm... Well, since I've given them maneuvers, in a firearm using setting it's possible one would grab Black Rain...

    But yeah, the basics of the changes: no more [Sentai] feats. Those are all abilities, since it makes more sense. Henshin is level+Cha rounds, and 1/encounter. Maneuvers are less than Warblade are added. Team Player is now given to the base, and Loner and Guardian are alternate options. Unarmed Strike is lower than the monk's. Strike of Justice applies to all attacks, but is down to +5d6 max.

    That's... About it.


    Oh, and I dropped skills down to 4+int, for some balance related reasons.

    Well, good to know that I've somehow managed to get someone to join to comment on a class.

    Yeah, the saves are "poor" as a balance thing. But remember: they get Cha to Saves while in Henshin, from 3rd level on. That... On a Cha focused class...

    Yeah. Giving all Good would have been... Less than fair to casters who rely on saves.

    In the spirit of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider I'm thinking of getting sound effects from either to use for my new phone. Thinking of using a song from Kamen Rider Hibiki for the ring tone, looking for something to use for text notification, and thinking of someone saying henshin with belt noise for unlocking. Anyone got suggestions?

    Just checked up on this thread after disappearing to focus on my D&D group's CoCtoberfest game and I'm glad to see it's still alive. I'm digging the new abilities as I encountered a bit of writer's block trying to figure out my one-shot. Stoked to see another one of my suggestions used. I'm gonna take a look at the Kaijin class to see if any of the creative juices get flowing.

    Okay, so I thought that my "earn your morpher bac" PrC idea would be simple to pull off, but I got hung up on a lot of details and also inexperience. I'm not sure how to represent them becoming a more skilled and tenacious hero for having done without, as most of the classes that really do do without are really uninspiring.

    Here's what I'm pretty sure about:

    • Three levels.
    • Middling BAB
    • Strong Will, Weak Fort and Ref
    • Mettle
    • Carries a mundane (masterwork) version of their sentai weapon.
    • Capstone includes ability to transform without a physical focus.

    Otherwise, though, my head is kind of spinning. Here are some ideas:

    • Bonus skill points? My initial notion was to have them pick a specific skill that they hadn't invested in to that point and make it into a class skill to represent them discovering things about themselves now that they aren't defined by their powers.
    • Skill tricks? I've never played with these, so I have no idea how useful they'd be.
    • Fighter feats? Haha, no. Fighter feats aren't even very inspiring in the numbers that Fighters get them in, let alone a reasonable number for a 3-level PrC.
    • A unique martial discipline? Seems like overkill, though it might be kind of fun if they had a special discipline that they could only use when they aren't transformed. (Edit: The more I think about it, the more I like this idea. It's kind of like the superpowers they get in some seasons, isn't it?)

    Also, I suppose there would have to be variations of this for some of the archetypes, wouldn't there?

    Anyway, sorry, sooner or later I'll turn this into a neater submission.
