Fermor grunts in pain, and pushes the beast back, bringing his axe behind his head and cocking his arm. "For Glorrrrrrrrrry!" Yet, the blade slips again, leaving no gash on the armor of the beast. Re: Kingmaker: Here Comes the Cavalry! (IC)
Fae'ls hand glows as she stretches it forth... And the light-sensitive tick darts out of the way. But between that and the pounding Fermor's giving it, it is surprised by the smoke pellet that Maple darts its way. The thing coughs and wheezes, vomiting blood all over...
Brin kills one of her attackers, double tapping the little blue thing to the ground. The remaining ones stare for a moment, then in a mad rush surge past the group by the entrance, pushing and shoving to try and run! One of them falls in the trap and dies noisily, spiked and trampled by the remaining two, who slip into the corridor behind the group.
Alistar savages the Tick on him yet again! It staggers and lists, but isn't QUITE dead. Nor is it capable of biting the nimble wolf! Roqoan's bolt, hampered by the cover Alistar is giving his target and the cramped quarters of the hole, goes wide.
It's all done but the mop-up, it seems...

Fermor grunts, and brings himself forward again, trying to cut through the beast. "For.... GLORRY..."He grunts, with a much more vicious bite to each word, smashing the axe in short, quick, blows. Each one, though, is less effective than the last: he's just beating it with a stick, it looks like: no cut, slice, or hack, can pierce the armor, under any means, as it would seem. "**** you! TO THE LOWER PLANES!" Fermor bellows, kicking at one ineffectively.

Re: Kingmaker: Here Comes the Cavalry! (IC)
The tick harassing Alistar falls, as the remaining one continues to vomit blood, before being wounded by one of Brin's arrows. (The other falls short, due to the limited pull she can achieve in these tight quarters.)
The group is easily able to surround the nauseated creature, and make short work of it before it can recover.
Of the blue things, there is no sign. They managed to get out of the hole and into the tall grass, somewhere... A keen wolven nose could probably track them if it had a mind to.
The turkey stretched out on the rack gobbles mournfully. And that tunnel opening to the east remains unexplored...

The turkey is of no help to Fae'l as far as unbinding it goes, and struggles quite a bit, pecking painfully. Fortunately, the poor thing's ordeal seems to have stolen any real strength from the game bird, and as such no damage is inflicted upon the oracle.
From the next room, a thin, squeaky voice echoes. "Hello? Help? Not mites? Help?"

ALISTAR
SpoilerYou easily catch their scent. And what's more, they're moving fairly slowly, to stay hidden. It would be the work of minutes to go and tear them to bits. On the other hand, you ARE kinda torn up...
Brin enters the next room, followed slowly by Fae'l. Finding no immediate danger or ambush, the way is clear for everyone else to enter.
This chamber is as large as the previous one, and the walls are full of tangled roots. Salvaged junk, most of which looks stolen from Bokken's home nearby, is scattered here and there. A stepstool has been turned into a war table, and an old reagents list on it is scrawled with heavy ink, detailing a big tree and a bearded frowning face. All sorts of arrows point at the tree.
In the corner, next to some boxes and sacks, are a bunch of wooden, makeshift bars to a small enclosure. Huddled against the wall, as far back from the bars as they can get, is a small humanoid covered in turkey feathers and some sort of foul-smelling goo. Yellow eyes blink mournfully from out of the mass, and occasionally black scales can be seen from where the goo or feathers don't cover.
BRIN
SpoilerYou're pretty certain that thing in the "cell" is a tiny lizardman... Matches the description you've heard of kobolds, come to think of it.
"Hello? Hello. Not kill! Friendly! Micmac greets you!"
The figure jumps up, scaly tail wagging.
"Please to free Micmac! Help him get back Old Sharptooth! Or tribe turn yellow and die! Please help!"

Brin looks up and down at the sight before her What fresh new hell is this? Could this be one of the kobolds... how fortunate we could have a potential liason, though I better not talk to it... I just may start laughing
She turns to Fael and says softly "Can you calm this fellow down while I gather the others? I am not the best at conversations..."
Without waiting for a response she carefully goes back the way she came and alerts the others of her discovery.Last edited by Morbis Meh; 2012-08-14 at 03:23 PM.

Roqoan
"Oh good, a Kobold." Roqoan says when he comes near the corner in wich the creature is huddled. "I was afraid it would be another one of those little blue bastards. Or their bugs."
He looks at the creature behind the bars and thinks to himself that since they've been looking for Kobolds to help them, the best course of action would be to establish some trust. And best to start that immediatly.
Draconic:
Spoiler"I speak the language of the dragons, little one. Let me help you get out of that cage. If you need anything else, just ask."
Roqoan tries to break down the wooden bars. If he fails with his strength, he uses an acid spell to weaken the bars. He will use the spell again if needed.
"Fae'l, Brin, help me break down these bars. I just told the little guy that he can trust us and that we'll get him out of that cage."

Fermor looks at the group, and the creature in the cage. Pausing long enough to lift high his glistening holy symbol, he sends a wave of sparking gold healing across the dirt floor, to aid all in their recovery, especially the poor soul in the corner. "I'll go after Alistair, keep 'em safe." He nods to the others and dashes out, hoping to find some use, and perhaps some solitude for thought.

ALISTAR
SpoilerYou easily catch up with the half-blind, fleeing mites. They have no chance against you. You take 4 points of damage before they fall as they fight desperately for their lives, but the task is accomplished within minutes, and you can rejoin the group with no real time lost.
It's a pity that the little blue jerks taste horrible.
INSIDE THE LAIR
The little creature is hopping up and down in excitement, causing his stuck-on feathers to fluff and bounce. "Yes! Yes!" He says to Fae'l. "Micmac came with others! Mites stole our god! Is a vengeful god. Have to get him back or our scales turn yellow! Then we die! Tartuk said so." His ears droop and he looks down. "But got caught. Others eaten. Was going to eat me but they caught big birds. So they ate a big bird instead. Said it tasted better than kobold, so they put feathers on me so I taste better when my turn came." He shudders, then checks Fae'l with a worried yellow eye. "You not eat Micmac, right?"
He jumps when Roqoan addresses him in draconic, and talks right back! Meanwhile, the bars are easily broken by the group, and he happily steps out of the cage.

SpoilerGreetings, great one and fair wind under your wings. It is good to speak in a civilized tongue! I could certainly use your help finding our missing god-totem. After that, I would be honored if you accompanied me back to my tribe's home, for the honor due you as friends to the Sootscale Tribe

Roqoan
"He said this Old Sharptooth he's talking about is a statue of a winged horned creature and if we find it he'll take us with him to his tribe." Roqoan translates what Micmac said for the others.
Draconic:
Spoiler"It is indeed good to speak the language of dragons again, it's been a while since i've had the chance. We'll do our best to find the statue for you. It's quite a stroke of good luck that we've found you. You see, we've been looking for the Kobold tribe rumoured to live around here. We have been tasked with exploring these lands and we thought our group and your tribe could help each other.
But first, let's find Old Sharptooth and get you back to your tribe, we'll have time to talk after we've done that."
"Let's search the place, he says the statue is around here. And who knows what else we'll find." Roqoan says.Last edited by Steckie; 2012-08-21 at 01:27 PM.
