Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
(@TBF: Earlier, I asked if I could rp as someone who was after your character. You never answered. I don't know what you have in mind for your character, but if I need to find someone else for Ga'arin to be after, I would like to know sooner rather than later. )

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
By the way, something I've thought: a good plan for villager matchers would be to compare someone to themselves. Except for results of 1 matching trait, it'd be possible to know if the other player is town or not. 3 matches mean villager and matcher, two matches mean either villager and not matcher or matcher and town power role. No matches mean not town (wolf, neutral or mysterious) and non matcher. 1 match means either town power role and non matcher or matcher and either wolf, neutral or mysterious.
If someone see any flaw in the above, please point it out.
The above strategy could also be used by other matcher that have town roles, but with 2 matches not guaranteeing a townie and 3 matches being impossible.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Matchers using themselves is something I talked to Rune about in my Questions QT before the game, actually.
Seems sensible. There are no plain wolves, so it certainly makes sense.
Garbage collectors won't be nearly as useful the first night.
Ga'arin Rookblade stopped and sniffed the air. He had been here. He could feel it in his bones. He swung his blade menacingly, trudging up a stone staircase past some flowers. He stopped, bent down, and sniffed. Begonias. His favorite. But there was no time.
The Daicchi looked around, suspiciously, waving his blade frantically. "Do you smell it? Do you smell it? Find him, find him!" His red eyes glared at passerby who gave him odd looks. "Have you seen him? Have you seen him?" He pressed his blade against the throat of a man who had given him a sinister look. Up against the wall, the man broke into a cold sweat.
"Who? Who are you looking for?!" the man managed to squeak out, trembling with fear.
The Daicchi paused, then with a cold glare, he muttered, "You'd know him if you'd seen him." He withdrew the blade, and began swinging again. The man slipped away, one hand rubbing at his neck. "Where are you? I'll find you! You can't lose Ga'arin Rookblade!"Last edited by Penguinator; 2012-06-18 at 05:15 PM.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
As I said before, I think it'd mean a pretty good chance (I didn't actually bother to do the math on how likely a 1 match result would be) of making a somewhat reliable scry (the only thing is that it doesn't diferentiate between neutrals and wolves).
It's probably even more acurate/usefull then our town "seer" (The Perceptive).

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Humm, you mean the disguise? Well, I think it's kind of unlikely to be a problem, or at least a huge problem. Kills, voids and banes are far more usefull, plus, if they were to disguise themselves, it's not necessarily that bad. It means it's not 100% proof, but then again, not the end of the world. Probably good to not trust it blindly on the end game, but for something matcher villagers can do? It's pretty good.
Even more, considering there could be a decent amount of villager matchers.
Edit: Also, at first, it's very likely that they'd disguise themselves or do something related with their goal (although it'd probably be easier for them to fulfill their goals with the other powers). Plus, it'd mostly only mean not giving key information of town's PRs. It's not like a town matcher villager introducing himself to a misterious player or even a wolf be as bad as if a seer or baner did that.
Edit 2: And, of course, it's not necessary to contact the other player, only knowing he has a very good chance of being town is already a great boon.Last edited by Gray Mage; 2012-06-18 at 05:30 PM.

Well, are we going to lynch anyone? I don't mind who as long as its not me.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Right now we have a three-way tie between TBFProgrammer (me), Ur-Quan and Vesth (all at two votes). The reasons so far are:
TBFProgrammer: Voted for a new player (because of roleplaying inspiration)
Ur-Quan:Annoyed someone (in another game)
Vesth: You'll have to ask usourselves&we (or yourself, but mostly them)The BareFoot Programmer

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Well, of those three I'd prefer TBFProgrammer. I want to see if Ur-Quan annoys people again, Vesth got killed Day 1 in Witchhunt, and TBF
cost town the gameaccelerated town's crushing implosion in Witchhunt.
Also he's voting for a Count, and even if DingDong doesn't turn out to be a vampire that's just a bad idea.SpoilerWhat kind of paranoid mind sees that as something else. ~ The Narrator, during Stranded in Space.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Vesth
Seeing the dissent that rips through the people of the misty isle, Sir Ebonwolf shakes his head and raises his sword against the moon. Shining blade directed at his heart, he lets out a sigh ...
Just to spice it up a bit and to confuse those who don't check for white text. I'm just a little bored right now.Last edited by Sir Ebonwolf; 2012-06-18 at 11:00 PM.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Who mentioned not linking people who vote for themselves? I think 'twas Ramsus. Hmm, I'd like to know the whole story about that. Does anyone mind explaining?
Until then, I'll let it sit at Sir Ebonwolf. My avatar is by Matthias. Thanks a lot <3

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Sorry guys, I wasn't actually being serious. I'm just at al loss of what to do. At the moment I'm willing to comply with almost any suggestion. But until I receive such a request, or until tomorrow, I'll just leave the blade where it is.
On a different subject, I'm the dreamer, a town night voider and I'm also a garbage collecter."The leaves rustle and you look up to see... (Insert Selected Creature(s))!

Because he had white text in his last post.
He's having an identity crisis and thinks he is part of &we's plural

Join the collective
But do try to semi hide the white text.
Anyway is editing allowed this game? Other wise Ebonwolf's point on Vesth is still active is our eyes, there looks to be nothing in the starting post about editing.
Also, is no lynch an acceptable action or would the town side be too favored for victory if coordination happens after the first night and there was not a lynch?
Another also, was Ebonwolf just putting flair to his self point or is he claiming a killer role?
Last thought, mind is in chaos, you new people can not join the collective, and we have yet to actually read the previous pages rather then skim them for votes. We love plural first person personal pronouns.
Rejoice in the bosom of white text our child.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
Rules say you have to cross out old votes, so yes, there is editing.

Re: Traits WW: The misty isle
I'd gladly join, but I don't know the song.
A quick search turns up She Runs - Jimmy Wayne, Woman Dreaming - Xavier Rudd, Ruby Tuesday - Emiliana Torrini (original by the Rolling Stones?), but the most hits on Hasten Down The Wind - Warren Zevon.
So...
She'll tell you it's the only way to be~~

Can't find any good videos of it, though.

Leaving for stayaway camp in a few days. Packing, work, sleep, etc. could make me more AFK than normal. May I send early decisions? Including for when I'm at camp?
