    Finally free of the bonds of the paralytic toxin, Versvesh curses his luck when the snake dips back under water. "Who wantsh to live forever..."

    With that, he charges off to the edge of the boat and dives in!

    You spot a shadow moving through the water. You swim towards it, and it resolves itself into a snake, more than 35' long. The creature is ramming the underside of the ship! You can see that a number of planks in the hull have already buckled and splintered. You slash at the creature, opening long gashes in its side. The monster turns toward you and bites. The long fangs of the enormous snake drive through your gut, and you feel an ominously familiar sensation spread from the bite.

    Pete is a little surprised as his friends willingly jump into the water with the monsters. "Bates, fetch! Watch!" Pete commands his bird pointing to the sunrod. Take the light, watch for friends and enemies. Stay safe. Keeping up concentration just long enough for the familiar to grasp the airborne sunrod, Pete moves towards the wounded and unconscious, pulling a wand as he does so. "Jones, Wendell, Two-leg Jack, keep watch over the side! One-leg Jack - watch over the other in case they come around! Everyone else, let's clear the wounded to safety! Quickly, they could be back any moment!"

    Versvesh attempts to stab at the monster, but the debris floating in the water from the splintering planks makes it impossible for a good shot at the snake, and he misses. The snake strikes back, but is likewise stymied. Seeing an opportunity, Hamrin strikes at the snake...and his blow is intercepted by a piece of wood. The force of the water rushing into the hole the snake made seems to be widening the gap further.

    Your quick thinking saves a number of the crew, and clears off much of the deck area. You notice that the rocking of the boat has become a bit sluggish, and the water is slightly closer than it was before.

    Pete casts a healing spell on one of the unconscious as he notices the odd movements of the ship. They've grabbed the ship and are pulling us down!
    The cook quickly looks around to see where the snakes have wrapped around. (assuming he does not see anything...)

    Versvesh looks to the widening hole in the side of the boat with growing concern, and instead changes his tactics to draw attention away from the boat.

    He keeps charging towards the head, kicking dangerously close to the fangs and making every attempt to become bait for the giant serpent.

    Versvesh watches the snake slip away... not sure if he should be grateful for his good luck, or worried about what could make those serpents run away. Quickly, he rushes back to the ship. There is work to be done.

    Hamrin and Versvesh rush up to the aft of the ship, but the captain is not to be found there. A trail of blood leads below deck. Following it, they come upon the captain, laying on a table in the galley, with the quartermaster, standing over him. The quartermaster is covered in blood, and badly burned by the acid. The captain is even worse off. He is missing his right leg, and looks pale. The quartermaster turns to Hamrin and Versvesh. "What do you two want? The captain is hurt!
    Wait, wait, orders, yes. Go to...my cabin. Get..the charts. We need to...make for the..nearest port. AHHRHRHG! DAMN! Keep her afloat, limp on in. With that, the captain slips back into unconsciousness.

    Versvesh looks grimly at the sight, and trusts Hamrin to the task of getting the charts.

    "I may not look it, but I can help... a little." He recesses into a meditative stance and releases his Healing Aura.

    Everyone in a 30' radius who has half their health or less will start recovering 1 hp/round (every 6 seconds). I believe this is also enough to stabilize.

    Pete is relieved to see the two orcs return from the sea, but is a little concerned to hear that the serpents have retreated and the ship has not returned to it's normal boyancy. Doubting his own judgement more than the reports of his friends, Pete makes his way belowdeck to see if the ship really is flooding.

    When it looks like the Healing Aura has done all it can do, Vesvesh is going to head out to the cabins to make sure Rel is alive and safe.

    "Rel! Are you alright?" He finds Rel working the pumps with other crewmen, trying to keep the ship afloat. She nods to him for a moment, wipes the sweat from her forehead, and keeps pumping.

    Seeing that she is safe, Versvesh breathes easier, and heads below to see what he can do about the massive hole in the hull.

    He can breathe underwater, so he's going to examine the hole. If no one has started to repair the damage, he is going to seek the nearest available spare wood (even if thats a crate he has to smash open), hammer and nail, and patch the hull as well as he can. I've included whatever rolls I think he may need to get this job done, in no particular order. If you have any extra rolls, please let me know.

    The lowermost deck is almost flooded. Water is coming in at an alarming rate.

    Versvesh:
    The captain starts looking a bit healthier. A number of the wounds begin to close up. When you go to examine the hole, you easily find it, but the damage is beyond your capabilities to fully repair. At best, you can figure out how to nail some planks over the hole to at least minimize the leak.

    Hamrin:
    The charts are in your hand. There are number of ports marked on them, but you have no idea where the ship is.

    Versvesh emerges from the water with the hammer in tact.

    "I'm no carpenter," he confesses to Pete, "but I've done what I can to sustain the leak, but the ship may be lost regardless if we can't bail fast enough until we find a port."

    He offers Pete a grim expression. "The captain is badly wounded. I helped stabilize his wounds, but he can't swim in his condition. We can't lose the ship, Pete. What do we do?"
