Back when I was in High School, I was educated that the Tanto was the partnered blade to the Katana. I'm now finding out this is yet another thing that was essentially a lie. I'm going to hug my Teddy Naga and cry myself to sleep now.

We should enchant the naga. If we count the naga's natural attacks as slashing weapons then we can put the vorpal enchantment on it. Now you can go smacking people's heads off with a naga.

Screw that! We can have a Keen, Warning, Vorpal sentient Naga for a +7 and whenever you wield it incombat it automatically yells "LOOK OUT!" which gives you a +5 Initiative bonus and the Keening could be sharpened claws.

We shall create the ultimate weapon and name him Sss'ss'ther'sith

...Are there even rules for using a creature as an improved weapon? like a Giant picking up a human and throwing him at a dragon?

You might want to give your naga immunity to elements before going too crazy with enchantments. Flaming burst and all. But I guess you could just swing his corpse around, it doesn't have the same effect though.

This has some serious potential for abuse. I mean a guy running around with a fleshraker dinosaur as a weapon. The fleshraker has like 5 attacks, then let's have a character with 4 attacks wield it. Add the speed enchantment. 25 attacks. And then there's TWF. And sneak attacking!

Had a character get a dragonbone whip like that. It was a green dragon, not a naga, but same basic concept.

Couldn't the Expanded Hectoncheires wield 100 normal Hecatoncheires? (Who in turn are each wielding 100 Compressed Hecatocheires, who are each wielding 100 Compressed Thri-keen who are each wielding 2 Greatswords. Or 2 Dire-Flails.)

The real money is getting down to Tiny size and wielding 1st level kobold rogues. Disposable, cheap, and 3 attacks at 1d3-2+1d6 if you're flanking.

It's a question of relative size...I was assuming a weapon needed to be at least two size categories smaller than the creature wielding it, so they didn't just keep hitting each other instead.

It sounds like someone mentioned the wrong blade. The paired weapon to the Katana is the Wakizashi.

A Tanto is closer to a knife, as I recall.

A Tanto is the paired blade to a solitary ranger.

Tantou literally means "Short sword". It is paired with the Tachi (Lit: "Great sword"), a predecessor of the sword known in the West as the katana (Lit: "Sword") by two 'generations'.

That said, you're right that it is closer to a dagger or a knife in its dimensions, 'though it can also be paired with the katana.

I'm a fan of throwing cats around. Especially aiming for a spellcasters face. If you're allowed called shots that is.

    BBEG:"I summon thee mighty..."

Throwing specialist:Screw that spell, called shot to the face

DM: What are you attacking with?

TS: The wizards familiar, the black cat

    DM: Roll

    TS:Nat 20!"

    BBEG: AAKKKK!!!!!"

It's a Chuck Norris reference, to one Texas, Walker Ranger show. I base this on cultural osmosis, not having seen said show.
I would really like to see a game made by Obryn, Kurald Galain, and Knaight from these forums.

I'm not joking one bit. I would buy the hell out of that.
