    Feddin snaps the goblin's sternum, and sends him crumpling back to the ground, dying.

    Alfie lowers his head and whimpers softly as they enter the cave.

    The first part of the cave is actually quite beautiful, though you can see very little of it. There are two stalagmite mounds in front of you, and in the distance, a natural column rises up to the cavern ceiling. The stream parts around it. The floor is slippery and uneven from the inflow of the stream, and the rock walls glitter like jewels from the moisture.

    You hear a warg growl and an goblinoid voice make a shushing sound.

    Rats scurry from Feddin's presence, away from a skull and the stub of a torch. You can see in the faint light, multiple claw marks along the base of the floor.

    It's difficult to tell if these scratches were made by one, or many, worgs, but judging by the size of the scratch marks, you'd say they were fairly big.

    After a moment's silence, you hear more goblin talking from deeper within the cave. One voice is deeper than the others.

    Unfortunately, the limited range of your torch doesn't grant much keener detail than what you can already see.

    The entrance, is fairly clean. But as you get deeper into the cave, you can smell goblin filth. Faint traces of urine, feces and rotted food waft in from the deeper parts of this lair. On the stalagmite next to you, there are some goblin cave paintings that appear to be of a religious sort. Some humanoids bones are scattered along the edge of the walls, alongside rusty, discarded weapons. Some crawfish flop around in the shallow parts of the water. You can hear the distant echo or goblin chatter. One voice sounds deeper than the others.

    You can see more clearly, deeper into the cave. It appears to head straight south, but the echoes off the cave walls would suggest otherwise.

    You recognize the cave paintings on the stalagmite as a ritual sacrifice to Maglubiyet, god of goblins. Nothing atypical, but it does imply that a goblin shaman may live here.

    As you creep along the walls, you notice that not all of this is natural rock. Some of this has been hewn, perhaps as cubby holes for storage. Either way, the openings are small. There is a dead goblin at your feet, with a fresh stab wound in his ribs.

    As the brighter radius of light stretches across the dark halls of the cave, you notice a strange, giant purple mushroom.


    As soon as Felix's light hits it, you hear a loud shriek that echoes painfully off the walls of the cave. Alfie lets out a pained howl and bucks wildly. Felix manages to stay on the saddle. Alfie barks angrily at the mushroom, which does nothing for the ear-splitting cacophony resounding within the walls.

    Shriek lasts for (1d3)[3] rounds.

    Feddin winces and takes one of the cloth wrapping on his body and wrapping it around his head to cover his ears and drown out the shrieking noise. He knows he'll have to spot the enemy now. He does his best to stay towards the edges of the dim light.

    Oscar.creeps along trying to remain silent even with the shrieker's howl. When he creeps up next to Felix he says, "This is a bad situation. Unfamiliar terrain, underground, with many enemies. The goblins are one thing, but those are aptly named shriekers. They usually are accompanied by a carnivorous fungi known as violet fungi. The violet fungi hunt by using a potent poison. What are we going to do when we encounter the goblins?"

    As Gwen crosses over the stream, she feels the ground give out beneath her as a pressure plate shifts. A barrage of darts come flying out between the stalagmites (H8 and M7), but she manages to raise her buckler in time to intercept the fullisade just in the nick of time. One lone dart remains stuck in her chain mail as she lowers her shield.

    In the distance, you can see the first wave of goblins approaching. A shadow arcs through the dim light. Feddin recognizes it as a javelin and swats the clumsily thrown weapon away with an intercepting sweeping block.
