I actually paused to think about this.

Karkat, Terezi, Gamzee, Aradia, and Kanaya are all alive and without corpses, so there are only seven trolls to prototype in eight prototyping slots.

We've seen Vriska + Tavros and Eridan + Sollux, which leaves Nepeta, Equius, and Feferi for Roxy and Jake.

... unless there are two Sollux sprites hanging around, and we get Nepequius and Fefellux.

You know, in spite of the fact that we all talked about the potential of this happening when the Tavrisprite incident occurred, by this point, I didn't think it was actually going to happen. Also, the picture of Jade and Jake goofing off together is adorable.

Does this mean Tavris was a success after all as well, or that Eridan and Sollux are not as incompatible? If the former, that would mean prototyping doesn't actually use the soul of the creature in question, but rather a copy, because Tavros and Vriska have been around for a long time since that event and have very clear memories of their experience.

EH, keep in mind we have no way of knowing if the Eridan we saw in the dream bubbles is the alpha eridan (and thus the one that got prototyped). As for Sollux, it's possible his unique condition lead to this being sort of a dreamself for him. Or a dual awareness. The latter's kind of fitting, really.

I'm a little confused how the Eridux sprite ended up in the Alpha kids' gameplay session though. I know we saw gamzee there for the Tavrisprite incident, but I had taken that to be a gag, rather than an implication that Gamzee is somehow capable of traveling to any session. So how is Gamzee getting where he's getting?

The same way the rest of the cast got there- Gamzee did have Aradia's time-travel music box, after all, so he could interact with things that happened before his arrival. How he got to Caliborn's session is a mystery, however.

Caliborn started his session on Alpha-Earth, so all Gamzee had to do was to wait for their meteor to arrive there. Depending on when they arrive he might have to go back in time to enter alpha-kids session. After prototyping all the kernels he could either go back in time to de-enter the session (it might be possible or not - it's a bit iffy) or wait for the reconning (if it can ever happen) to leave the session. Alternatively, the alpha-kids had a few portals linking Earth with Derse and he could use one of those.

There is a new best character. The rest of the comic is about Jake's sprite hitting on things then getting really sad about it. Over and over.

I think it'd be fitting if Fefsprite became a thing and Erisol dated it. This way, she doesn't have to choose.

This is just... painful to watch. I have a lot of respect for Jane, she's probably had to deal with this crap a lot from Jake, it's no wonder she's finally snapping, man if she held out for this long she has the patience of a saint... And well, Jake complaining about Dirk's lack of social skills is highly ironic. I feel bad for him though, he's not trying to be a huge jerk, but he sure is succeeding.
And I see what Erisolsprite meant about their relationship being a black hole sucking everybody in, my god.

It kinda feels like Roxy's the only one who's a decent friend to Jane at the moment, which is kinda sad. (But hey, Roxy's the coolest best friend you could ever have so at least there's that.)

ok so….

Normal Session: things are prototyped, they fight monsters, collect grist and eventually become god tier and defeat the black king.

Null Session: same, but they screw up somehow.

Void Session: no prototypes, therefore only skeletons to fight, who are either hard to kill or just take a long time to kill for small amounts of grist. Can't build up their houses, and can only make equipment level stuff from what little grist they have. can't fight black king, war won't start and so on…

however, a Void Session can theoretically still make them God-Tier, and thus allow them to do….something….that would allow them to win.

Dead Session: Only one player, have to solve extra puzzles, and the enemies are even harder than Void, the whole game being freakishly extremely hard, no potential for world to ever be created, and victory is dictated on entirely different terms.

I notice that we go from the Second Troll Session which was the most normal of them all, to the Human Null Session, then to the Void Session and lastly the Dead Session.

The B1 session was kind of a special case of a Null session, I think, a few rather unusual things happened such as the early Reckoning and the very unique (as far as we know) chance to reach the Scratched session

I'm guessing that the A1 session with the pre-scratch trolls was more of a normal Null session. Unless there was no pre-entry prototyping which I guess hasn't been ruled out yet, it could have been Void.
