You break out into a sprint. Your footsteps echo in the hallway as you outpace the fire. Behind you, you hear the crashes of timbers as the wing collapses. At this pace, the entire mansion is minutes away from being consumed in flame.
You reach the six sided room, and come to an abrupt halt. The pit in the center has a column of smoke rising from it. Within the smoke, you see the movement of something massive. Several large tentacles appear from within the smoke, hauling up a creature of nightmare. It has four powerful legs, and three spiked tentacles rising from its slimy flanks. The stench of it penetrates through the smoke and fouls your nose. Bloodshot eyes along the tentacles focus on you. It stands at the edge of the pit and opens its knife-lined mouth for a soul shaking screech.

Whiskey skids to a halt and lets out an alarmed bark, his little face a mixture of nerves and fascination. He concentrates and a large orb of fire materializes and moves towards the beast.
Arf, eager to take the first piece of the exotic enemy, bounds forth with a snarl.
SpoilerWhiskey casts Flaming Sphere at K3. It moves to K4 and stops.
Reflex save negates all damage. DC: 15
Fire Damage - (2d6)[3]
Rounds remaining: 3
Whiskey also tries to identify the creature.
Knowledge Nature - (1d20+4)[19]
Arf moves to M5 and hopefully does damage.
Attack Roll - (1d20+6)[15]
Bite Damage - (1d6+3)[5]

The ball of fire scorches the barrel chest of the large creature. Arf doesn't manage to penetrate its slimy hide.

The tanglefoot goo sticks the slimy creature to the floor. Enraged, it struggles to break free.
SpoilerThe creature has a -2 penalty to attack rolls and -4 dexterity, and is rooted until it breaks free or 2d4 rounds (i rolled the number secretly)

Jacinth casts inspire courage.
Everyone gets +1 to charm and fear saving throws and to attack and damage rolls for as long as she sings + 5 rounds after. Will edit this into spoiler later, I'm on my phone

The albino, emboldened by the bard's abilities, delivers a blow to the abomination. Steaming purple blood drips from the wound.

Whiskey throws his little head back and howls, an unearthly sound that causes the dust in the air to swirl and vibrate. It begins to form the silhouette of a great beast, all the while the flames persist.

A Hippogriff will appear at I-J/4-5 (large creature) next round.

Arf ducks and weaves out of the way of the deadly appendages. He eagerly attempts another chomp on the beast, invigorated by magic and the smell of abominable blood drawn by the colossal beheading implement.
