Re: Contest - drawing your character
You've linked to the "Edit" action for the posts containing the character descriptions, rather than the posts themselves.
Homebrew I've written. Includes an entire index of the spellshaping materials, as well as a few other tidbits I've done.

Re: Contest - drawing your character
I LOVE it.
SpoilerThis is the thief who likes to hoard,
That loves the bard with the puppet Lord
That admires the fighter with the green-hilted sword,
That employs the Wizard, whose bird is ignored,
That has the gender unexplored
That intrigues the Halfling, usually bored,
That slew a mountain of the goblin horde,
That follows the cleric,
That serves the lich,
That seeks the gate,
That guards the snarl,
That lives in the prison the gods built.
guess what I was gone but now I'm back

Re: Contest - drawing your character
Just curious, how does he play the lute with a missing hand? Does he have a special prosthetic with a pick on it?

Dark Elf Bard: Honestly, I'd accept an answer from anyone, but since it's your character, you answer would be more than enough

Re: Contest - drawing your character
Wow! Wonderful work. You have a good eye for detail and I have to say that the smile is really well done.
78% of all DM's start their first campaign in a tavern. If you're among the 22% who didn't, copy and paste this into your signature and tell us where you DID begin. The players were attacked individually on the road on the way to town by werewolves. To survive, they had to team up then and there without knowing anything about eachother (literally -- all character sheets were completed without other players' knowledge).

Re: Contest - drawing your character
Looks fantastic! You definitely captured him. A beautiful piece of work, Nocte!
SpoilerI hate to be the first one to do this, but there are, technically, a few minor details wrong. Obviously, I don't expect you to resketch him, but, if he advances to the next round and you're detailing the piece, note the following.
- Norton's wings are purely ornamental and actually pretty small. The tops of the wings reach a few inches above his head, while the spines don't extend past his waist.
- Strange as it may seem, Norton doesn't actually wear gauntlets--or gloves of any kind. Other than his rings, his hands are usually bare.
- The snake is formed of a continuous piece of smooth metal, rather than being segmented.
I apologize for my audacity here, and hope that you aren't offended. It really is a stunning piece of work!
I must say, I can't wait to see the other winners of this first round. Everyone's looked awesome so far.Homebrew I've written. Includes an entire index of the spellshaping materials, as well as a few other tidbits I've done.

Re: Contest - drawing your character
My fellow Playgrounders: I must admit that my opponent is truly worthy. But I am not here to promote my qualifications, simply to let you all know, how much winning this contest will aid me in my search for the fame that will allow me to reunite with my (sniff, sniff) family whom I miss so terribly. I ...can't go on...(wipes tears). Deo Volente.

Re: Contest - drawing your character
I'd guess until next Wednesday. All the votes thus far have run for a week--which gives Nocte time to draw the previous week's winner, while not forcing him into a time crunch.
