....anyway, to bring something on-topic to the discussion, my money is on Biscuit dying. It's what makes most sense to me from a narrative standpoint...but I've been wrong before (I'm chemist, after all, not a writer. )

Basie, the defensive basis of the Red Sox baseball team based in Boston, while freebasing acids and bases from a basin with a clawfoot base, is not the sort of thing you'd best be doing after programming a database in Visual BASIC.

How the dickens did scientists ever come to the conclusion that "bases" was a good name for caustic hydroxyls? I've always used "alkali", which is very much like "acid" in not having any other meanings, and I know of no reason to ever not use this term in preference to the potentially-confusing "base".

Yep, but when I am speaking about chemical reactions, I'm not going to confuse the term with anything else... "base" in chemistry means pretty much just one thing.

To be perfectly fair, Biscuit doesn't even have any idea who Grem is. I suppose he's assuming he's just another goblin that's attacking him.

Biscuit still has that bag of healing potions on his shoulder, so I wouldn't say Biscuit is in danger of dying anytime too soon (unless that was a crit Grem just inflicted).

I really want to know how Grem, who at best is an elite goblin with maybe a few levels in Warrior is any kind of credible threat to Biscuit.

Thunt explained it once (I think, apologies if I'm misremembering). He basically gives assorted bonuses to some goblins. I think it's based on how groups of humanoids were handled in 2nd edition, before they had class levels. For every X goblins, there would be a warlord, or chief, or something, which was basically a leveled-up goblin, with better stats, saves, THAC0, and HP than regular goblins. In larger groups, there would be several levels of leadership, so the leaders of large groups could be credible threats to low-to-mid level characters. As the second in command of a large group, Grem probably had significant bonuses, plus whatever gear and possible levels he got in the dungeon crawl.

Danielle only does basic colouring, the stuff that's easy but still takes time to finish. Tarol then goes and does the rest, including all the shading.

I think I saw something like that on the Goblins forum - one of the users there kept on making brilliant recolors of several recent scenes from the comic, which ended up with Thunt hiring him.
