They look incredible, and while a few details here and there can get lost on a whole I think Thunt does a better job than some actual comic book artists on keeping the scale of combat consistent and with a steady progression.
My issue is more that the fights just feel wrong. As in, that doesn't look either effective or particularly anatomically correct. If he didn't added as much detail as he does, or kept the scenes short, it wouldn't be much problem, just abstract the fight and all. But as it stands, it's painful for me to read his fight scenes.

Grem's not their only good fighter. Cole is pretty badass too,and he's had nearly as much screen time. There's also a number of other elites, the ones Grem was going to bring into the well.

True, but when Biscuit was slaughtering them, the goblins were saying something like "if only the Prince were here...".
The way I see it, if you hope in the arrival of someone that's not present (and you have no idea where he can be), instead of calling for the elites, that are in the camp, this could mean that the threat is beyond their capabilities.

I expect this combat to go well for the protagonists, but due to totally unforseen circumstances. Like if it was an actual D&D game, Thunt would be realizing he totally overbuilt the encounter (like he overbuilds every encounter) and scrambling to figure out how to save it.

"And then the switch beast suddenly re-appears and saves you! Wow how crazy is that!"

"And then Klik uses one of his super powers to save you! How crazy is that!"

There's been like one combat where the protagonists did well because they were badass, and that was when minmax kicked the **** out of that ranger.

Really? I mean, Minmax would have been killed by that ranger if not for Forgath's handy magic item. It was badass, sure, but not for fighting ability -- I wouldn't say Minmax 'kicked the crap out of him'. Forgath was just clever.

How about the fight against the rookie guards? Nothing came in to save the goblins there. They just fought hard and killed everyone.

I might suggest the fight against the plant-controlled orcs, but it could be argued that all the orcs being stopped by killing the main plant was a crazy-lucky thing.

To be fair, Malgubliyet (God of goblins, caution and mistrust - a greater deity by the way) has a right-hand man who is quite literally the God of Cooperation and Teamwork. Goblins are among the list of evil races with the most unfulfilled potential.

Definitely. I won't be surprised at all if Duv whips around and kills her anyway. It might be "noble" but it's the worst possible decision. "Mercy for the Guilty is treason to the Innocent." If Duv goes back to super-villiany like I expect, anyone else who dies at her hand or by her command, their blood is on Fox's hands. She might as well be holding the blade on them herself.

Never show someone like Duv mercy. Killing them is the only moral choice. That's a sin Batman commits with alarming frequency too. How many people has he murdered because he keeps sending Joker to a place he knows won't hold him?

Then again, I'm True Neutral so what I believe doesn't really have bearing on a Chaotic Good like Fox.

Yes, it's a good comic. It's also the one where he uses line "How many people have I murdered because I let Joker live"
(or something like that, I don't remember exactly the line but the general point of it)

Alright, I was mistaken; one of them figured it out. But more relevantly, Thaco didn't.

Now, granted, there wasn't much else to do up there. That's why I originally said it was 'arguably' lucky. Though, of course, they still found their way up there through no fault or intentions of their own...

Though before that, the only reason they get free is because Complains randomly gets caught up on a rock outcropping. Well, not before they figure out that there might be a central controlling body, but before Thaco actually does anything about it.

The only thing I can think of is, saves believes that duv IS the chosen one, so she wont kill her if she can avoid it. Perhaps she thinks if she spares her, duv will fricking relax a bit and stop trying to enslave/murder any goblin that doesnt willingly choose to be her slave. Honestly, thats a really crappy way to unite your race. "Obey me or I kill you." I mean, at least in the other fictional tribal races I read about, the big leader guy/girl actually defeats the other tribes first before saying join or die. It establishes their greater power right off the bat. Trying to do it the other way just creates huge slaughters because no tribe that hasnt already been beaten would likely consider surrender. And once you give the join or die ultimatum, you cant just walk it back without losing some cred. "Join or die!" "I choose neither! I FIGHT!" "Ok, you lost, join or die." "Uh, is this anything like the last time you said join or die and I refused to join but am still alive?"
