Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
North Scoreboard
East Scoreboard
(Imagine a race horse announcer voice).
And the races begins with a exciting start. To the north, Sam is the first one into the umbra but he's followed quickly by Hour Tales, Soft Paws, and Looks for Truth. Last into the Umbra is Laughs, but he easily makes up for it by finding a shortcut to the Stag. Now insanely ahead, Laughs can tell the Stag is very very close. Meanwhile the others all seem to have picked up the trail of the stag, but it appears Soft Paws sharp nose has given her a definite advantage. In Third is trashcan Sam, with Hour Takes and Looks for truth right on his heels.
Meanwhile it appears Seeks Justice and the other Garou seem to be having trouble getting into the umbra, and are still stuck in the physical world.
On the eastern Hunt, the race is much closer. Angel Avenges dove through the Umbra, and right onto the trail. Everyone else managed to get through the umbra on this front, but Heart of the Storm and Born-To-Thunder seem to be having trouble picking up the trail. Meanwhile the rest of them seem to just be following Angel Avenges closely, rather than doing the actual work. She isn't too far ahead yet though, so it could be anyone's hunt still.
SpoilerAlright, make three rounds of rolls for Perception+survival.
If you choose to work together with another Garou, you can combine successes from following rounds and add it to the most successful first round. But if that happens you have to share the glory/benefits of the hunt.Last edited by CowMasterTrojan; 2013-02-15 at 09:42 PM.

Most interested in helping Hour Tales, Softpaws will accept Trashcan Sam's offer if Hour Tales rejects her.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Laughs is doing this solo... because he's a jerk, and is winning.
He spends a gnosis point to activate heightened senses, which reduces the difficulty of perception rolls by 2.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Two things for laughs
Spoiler
First: Heightened senses only changes your -2 to perception checks to a -3 when you're in lupus form.
Second: Enacting your gift would be considered multiple actions in one round. So your first round roll would have 3 less to the dice rolled. Considering you're pretty sure you're close, are you sure you want to enact that gift?Last edited by CowMasterTrojan; 2013-02-15 at 10:31 PM.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Hour Tales notices Softpaws heading his way as he tracks and chases the stag and howls a quick "Come along!" as he continues on the hunt. Holy crap, Laughs is good at this... he thinks as he sees his fellow packmate race ahead.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
It was my understanding that Hispo was slightly faster than Lupus, however I have now discovered I was incorrect. As a result, I won't be penalizing anyone on movement, and will give Lifa a -2 to her perception checks. Everyone does the hunt in Lupus form.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Finding the trail, Laughs comes over the hill and see's the spirit Stag. It stands calmly, looking around well over 300 yards away. With a full out run, Laughs begins the chase.
Happening Round 4-
At the very beginning of the turn, Hour Tales and Soft Paws come over the hill and see the stag.
Laughs moves 70 yards closer. (Ouch, bad roll)

The stag notices the oncoming Garou, and begins to run.
Meanwhile on the eastern front, Angel Avenges comes over her very own hill and see's the stag. The stag hasn't run yet.
For the three of you who see the stag, Roll three rounds of Stamina+athletics. (This is where softpaws leaves Hour Tales. LOL)Last edited by CowMasterTrojan; 2013-02-16 at 12:31 PM.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Softpaws doesn't feel the Rage, and stays calm. If she could just lead the stag into Hour Tales' path...
The Metis, who has hunted before (though not as a Moot Opening Hunt), attempts to perform the time-honored wolf tactic of cutting off her quarry and leading it into the jaws of her Alpha.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Fifty feet from where he had said those words, Hour Tales finally is forced to come to a stop. Panting heavily and his multi-colored fur damp with sweat, he lays down in the grass as the hunt continues ahead of him. "I need to go to the gym more..." he whines.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Yeah, you actually roll 3 dice per round. Lupus gives you a +2 to stamina.
However I'd recommend spending a willpower point to not botch. I'm working on the race numbers now, but I will assume you do spend one. If not, It won't be hard to change later.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
(Originally I was just going to call this as Laughs win, since he spent two rage. However since reviewing the rules, I concluded it does not give you an extra turn. It gives you extra actions. This matters, because you can only move once per turn. However If laughs would like to keep his use of rage, I will consider pushing yourself a action so it would have benefits.
Pushing yourself, the way I'm allowing it, has a difficulty of 6. Every success adds 12 yards to your movement. If you botch, you have to stop for a round.)
The Stag runs
(4d10)[5][10][6][3](24)
(4d10)[1][2][10][5](18)

Looks for Truth
(5d10)[3][10][2][1][2](18)
(5d10)[5][5][1][6][3](20)
And so the chase continues, with Laughs taking a huge jump ahead in the early part when he moves 342 yards while the Stag only moves 192+x. Theoretically right behind him are the team of Soft Paws and Hour Tales. Clearly they have some sort of very tactical plan going on, where Soft Paws circles around and leads the Stag into the path of the opposed, yet much Slower, Hour tales. Soft Paws move 318 while Hour Tales moves 246 yards. Behind them comes a very lagging Looks for Truth. Everyone else is just left in the dust of the chase.
Total yards Moved
Laughs 412
Hour Tales 246
Soft Paws 318
Looks for Truth 140
The Stag 252
Distance between the Leader and the Stag
160 yards
Meanwhile on the eastern hunt, Lifa is no longer allowed to roll dice. After 3 more rounds of tracking she comes over the bend and see's the stag being chased by Angel Avenges.

Spoilerwith the way rolls were going, I was actually going to write up a post where Lifa got lost in the umbra and spat the dummy that she wasn't the best at something and how she gave up a life of future privilege to chase crap in the woods.
But I guess sprinting after and murdering a stag works too!
oOo
Lifa's fur bristled with a smoldering hatred for the woodlands, her eyes and senses almost washing over with red at this infuriating process known as "hunting". A hot, simmering anger rolled over her skin that entangled itself across her body so that when she finally came up upon a hill and spotted the spirit stag, she bolted off with a snarl in pursuit like quicksilver.
Hopefully.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Yeah, so Jason would make the bite+damage roll I guess. Basically the one obstacle you have going right now is that laughs is in the lead, so your maneuver isn't effective. Basically as soon as Soft Paws over takes him, you guys will win. But the question is, does that happen before Laughs overtakes the stag?
I think Daelrog would say no, but you're still pretty close to him.My OWoDhouse rule reference page.

To the north, Laughs continues to dominate this race. Soft Paws, not wanting to quit however, continues to keep his pace. If she can just catch a little break, she can still pull this off. Behind them trails Hour Tales and Looks for truth. Hour Tales poops out for a moment, and Looks sprints past him to take 3rd. However she pushes herself too hard and Hour Tales over comes her.
Meanwhile in the east, we have Angel Avenges enjoying her easy distance gained but now is struggling to find the strength to close that gap. Trailing behind her is a iron hearted Lifa, who is gaining solid ground on both.
Having run hard for 6 rounds, everyone's difficulty now increases by 1. You may choose not to push yourself if you are afraid of botching. That still closes you in on the Stag by 6 yards a round.Last edited by CowMasterTrojan; 2013-02-17 at 02:35 AM.
