[Monodominant]

Ishmael shoots a look at the Doomguide.

"Its your show now... he is in vapors but how do we end it?" he says approaching the coffin with care, expecting yet more traps.

[planswalker]

"After suffering a lethal blow like that, the undead will go to a spirit form and re-materialize in its coffin. It will have to rest in a helpless state for 8 hours. While it is resting, it is vulnerable to suffering a true death. I have a few materials packed for this occasion. If you can secure the coffin, I can take care of the creature inside." He says.

"Junni did a sacred thing just now. That power you witnessed was the Light Eternal. He sacrificed his life and will to channel that for you. With your permission, my cousins and I will bring his body back to Conviction. There are certain rituals we need to observe." one of the other prismatic kobolds says.

"Our linked energy is all but drained, and our spellcasting is not nearly as developed enough to be sufficient on its own. We will guide our little siblings back to the temples if you do not object."

The Doomguide looks at you and says, "Well, don't look at me like that! I'm not leaving just yet."

[Monodominant]

Ishmael nods with sadness.

"I am sorry for the loss of your comrade. His sacrifice was not in vain as the Master will soon be a thing of the past and countless future lives will have been saved..." he says truthfully.

He nods also to the Minhret contingency and smiles at the Doomguide.

"Very well... let us finish this" he says but first approaches the Pelorite. If the man is just unconsious he puts him back in the portable hole... if he is wounded or dieing he asks the support of one of the clerics in ensuring he doesnt die and then places him in the hole.

He then turns his attention at the coffin and approaches with care taking all precautions in searching the area and asking the doom guide to support in this.

As we have 8 hours... take 20 on the search around and of the coffin... with a +2 from the Doomguide I reach 31!

The Pelorite is alive but unconscious.

You find a pair of traps on the coffin indeed. One which will lay a geas on anyone trying to pick the lock. Another which will cause a continuous inflict critical wounds effect on anyone who opens the coffin.

[Monodominant]

"There are 2 magical traps here inlaid on these runes... on some form of geas and one an inflict wounds that would go on..." he explains.

"If you cant dispel it I will attempt to disarm them..." he says and takes a deep breath.

It takes you two tries to remove the geas, but you get the inflict in one go.

"Sorry, I prepared for fighting undead, not antimagic measures. My experience with Minrhet's followers said that they'd have that angle covered better than I ever could. Their psionics is well suited to it. It was a pretty rare sight seeing a full ten linked cerebromancers at work, though. Quite the sight to behold."

Ishmael avoids shrugging. He had no idea what he had seen or how difficult it was to pull off... magic was a tool he used from time to time and not something he had ever managed to delve in. At times like this he sure wished he did...

Especially when recently someone gave me the link to psionic rogue and psionic assassin and I wished I had gone that way!

"Well I just managed to disrupt them and break them. Still there might be more so let us be careful... you are too important to risk so I will open it myself. If I perish, thank you for your efforts..." says Ishmael.

It wasnt in him to be brave or valorous but he was on a mission and he sure didnt know how to kill a dormant vampire while the Doomguide knew... hence it was mission critical that he should suffer any such blow.

He attempts to open the coffin... if its locked he uses Knock to avoid wasting time here...

You open the coffin and inside is...

a black silk cushioned lining. You see no vampire in there.

[Monodominant]

Ishmael blinks suprised.

"False bottom perhaps? Or an illusion?" he says as he starts interacting with the insides of the coffin.

Ishmael asks the help of the Doomguide and proceed to search the box.

He stabs one in the dark hoping for the best and if that doesnt help he then does a methodical 2 minute search of the coffin.

And if that doesnt work I take 20 for 31.

It takes you two minutes to find the hollow panel which covers the tunnel behind the coffin. You find the latch and open it to reveal a thin, circular hole 3' across. It heads down at a steep angle.

Ishmael frowns at this development.

"Any ideas? He obviously went down that way but I dont have nor potions of gaseous form nor reduce person with me. Do you happen to have such abilities or such potions?" he asks.

"Alternatively we could pour holy water down this hole until its full... that should teach him a lesson..."

3' is three foot. You can fit down that, thought it'll be a tight fit. escape artist check to wiggle through.

Oh I thought it was like 3 inches... you know so that only gaseous can follow!

Ishmael will shake his head for his sillyness and don his life ring as he doesnt know how deep this might be and he might need emergency featherfall.

He then enters the hole.

Climbing not being a talent that is based on his great agility but rather physical strength means Ishmael might be facing some problems as he slides down...

You climb down the tunnel and enter a small 20x20' chamber. There are three brown coffins laid side by side along the far wall.

[Monodominant]

Ishmael calls out to the dwarf to follow as it is relatively safe.

He also expects more vampire spawn in the remaining two coffins so he carefully approaches them and has a look around.

[planswalker]

There is no noise. All is deathly quiet. The three coffins could be the twins to the ones you found in the crate.

I take it the dwarf does not join me?

Ishmael will thorougly search the three coffins for traps.

[planswalker]

As you begin your search, the priest comes tumbling down. He lands heavily. "armor isn't meant for climbing." he grunts as he picks himself up.

"I need some help ensuring these 3 are not trapped..." he says and points at the coffins.

He then proceeds to search them thorougly. (take 20 for 31)

Turns out, my keyboard is dead but I can use voice recognition and it's pretty accurate

You find that each of the coffins is trapped with the same kinds of traps that the black coffin was on the surface.

You must have a very good accent then. My voice recognition sucks or my greek accent ruins my english!

Ishmael is annoyed at this development...

"Hmmm... all trapped and this wont work very well if I have to disarm another 6 traps... do you happen to have a detect evil spell prepared? That way we can see in which coffin he is in..."

For a Texas accent, mine is a rather mild. However, it's more that the program allows me to correct its mistakes.

"I do." He casts a spell, but his spell does not reveal any evil present. He believes that the coffins are lined with lead. His detection is blocked.

"Okay then... lets try something else... this helped me in the past and given how I have been told sympathetic magic works it might help us!" Ishmael will don his gloves of object reading and try to figure out the owner of each coffin.
