The Prince smirks. "Who's to say I don't have a vested interest in your well-being? You're the sole Ventrue in a fresh Coterie. You have potential, and I'd like to see that potential nurtured, not squelched. But I appreciate your thanks. Now, I'd suggest you catch up with your friends, before they manage to get themselves into any sort of trouble," he says with a nod to the door. "Which, some of them have already shown a knack for..."

"Good idea. Thank you once again." She says, and leaves as formally as possible, then goes to look for her friends.

"Definitely not the customers," Velma snided, not meaning to, in front of his face at least. She was kinda protective of that business.

"No, I would say not." Clayton says with a smirk, then takes an appraising look at Howard. "Although...we could always use another gin runner, and I'd say you've got a look about you that could scare away any troublemakers that wander into the joint...wouldn't you say so, Vel?"

[Benson]

"Yea...I suppose, maybe..probably....I guess," Velma huffed a little, arms still crossed, facing away.

"No, I would say not." Clayton says with a smirk, then takes an appraising look at Howard. "Although...we could always use another gin runner, and I'd say you've got a look about you that could scare away any troublemakers that wander into the joint...wouldn't you say so, Vel?"

"Let's just say I know how to be intimidating," Howard mutters darkly.

Howard's memories told him that his sire had taught him the beginnings of the Nightmare Discipline, but the Nosferatu doubted that he'd advanced any further in it; while he had to admit that it was useful, he found it altogether unpleasant, and knew that the greater powers had outright sadistic applications.

"Well, if you do well on this job with us, maybe you could join up with us, eh?"

Howard simply nods in reply, keeping his thoughts to himself.

The Native American frowns at Georgia. "I am Nighthawk, Elder and Priscus of Clan Mekhet in the Greater New Orleans area," he flatly informs her.

Georgia gives a long nod. "I did think that might be the case." she says. "But I didn't care to risk the guess. I'm sure you understand."

Upon finding them, she'll simply wave and flash a small smile.

"He is a surprisingly nice Highly Thinks of Himselfness." Evelyn says, and that's a genuine sentiment. "We have disagreements on certain things. Let's just leave it at that." Evelyn says.

"I can't say whether it is definitively, but it most likely is worth it." Evelyn responds.

"You, me, Vel, and maybe the other two?" He suggests, gesturing to Howard and Georgia.

"Ya know, what we really need to know is where they have their storage, ya know, where museums keep works they're not going to have on display where also they keep and prep before putting a certain piece on display."

"Well, iffin they're anything like us, and the way I see it, a fine painting is no less a work of art than a fine bottle of scotch, I'd wager they've got it holed up in the basement somewhereabouts."

"You, me, Vel, and maybe the other two?" He suggests, gesturing to Howard and Georgia.

"Oh, that we could all do this job together is all." Clayton shrugs. "Since the offer was extended as such, and since Howard has shown some interest in getting gainfully employed by us, I thought it might make some sense."

"Never were one for big parties, Ev." Clayton points out with good humor. "Fair enough. What'cha think, Vel? Think you, me, and the two newbloods can handle it?"

"No not really, frankly, I don't even really know what's my motivation for doing this myself, maybe its to make sure you don't do anything stupider," The vampire said bluntly.

Clayton raises his finger to protest for a moment, then thinks about it himself for a bit.

"...I think for once you might be right, Vel. There ain't exactly any reason we gotta do this for the prince, so why stick our necks so far out?"

"I'm always right damnit," She wagged an angry finger at his face before resuming crossing her arms.

Howard sighs mentally. He was experienced enough with Kindred to know that a favor owed from the Prince would be worth a dozen from any other vampire in the city; if the group decided against it, he wouldn't stop them... but at the same time, he would still do his damnedest to carry out the job.
