Re: OOTS Quiz part XIV
Will this do for blue wine?
Also, here's the Isaac Asimov book.
Finally, since I was enough of a dunce not to read the rules... find me a dunce's cap!
Edit: It appears that other than being a dunce, I'm rude as well. Thanks to Hogwarts9876 and petersohn.Last edited by Italian Hippy; 2012-08-11 at 07:38 PM.

Re: OOTS Quiz part XIV
He's only temporarily green, but he's also a pretty good sorcerer...
When does Belkar explicitly refer to himself as a "hobbit"?At least now I can get back to enjoying my glass of elven wine in peace and quiet, without being called on to intervene in someone else's problems.
Clang, clang, clang goes the trolley! Ring, ring, ring goes the bell! Git away from me, ye daft fool!

Re: OOTS Quiz part XIV
It's not *quite* an appellation but it comes pretty close. Appellation is definitely used as a wine term, when a wine (or spirit) can only be made in a specific place, in a specific way, or by a specific group. "Champagne" or "Bordeaux" or "Chartreuse", for instance. "Elven" is a little loosey-goosey, but you could make a case for it.
If you're looking for someone using the word "appellation" to refer to something in comic, I always thought it a bit ironic that it should be V who's especially concerned about gender-appropriate appellations...
Still curious about Belkar's self-descriptions, then...At least now I can get back to enjoying my glass of elven wine in peace and quiet, without being called on to intervene in someone else's problems.

Re: OOTS Quiz part XIV
Sorry, didn't know the wine thing. But 'sorceress' was the appellation I was looking for. And Belkar's self-description is here.
Find "a bluff".

Re: OOTS Quiz part XIV
To continue my proud tradition of giving you answers that are dependent upon homonyms, I give you: The Bluffs of Cliffport!
A Bluff in this case being a broad, steep cliff located next to an ocean or river.
...but that's probably not what you're looking for, is it?
Well, here a giant devil discusses Qarr's poker-playing strategy.
Here pretty much every single thing Haley says is a bluff.
Any of those do? If so, find me a permanently green spellcaster who is neither Grubwiggler nor a Goblin.Last edited by rgrekejin; 2012-08-12 at 06:08 PM.

Here Roy calls "Kaboom" Redaxe's bluff, and he specifically refers to it as a bluff.

Re: OOTS Quiz part XIV
It's a green hag! Or possibly an annis!
Though I'm not sure we know for certain she cast a spell instead of just a spell-like ability, but meh.
OQ, assuming that sufficiently answers the question.
Edit: Ooh. Yeah, I've never noticed him before. Good find!

Man, nobody loves the bearded Orc magic-user in 551.
But yes, that's certainly a good answer.

I know it's *not* Elan. (Though simply promising free pudding seems to work better anyway).
