"All he needs is a cup," says Natalia. Instead, she pours a bit of cider into a small hollow in the table for Whiskers to lap up. She also folds a small hat out of a scrap of paper in her coat, and places it atop Whiskers' head.

[Athedia]

Mithril started a little at the compliment, but quickly laughed. "Thank you." Whiskers ignored the conversation and dropped the coin onto the tabletop, playing around while occasionally eating some of his bread.

"Weasel mascot," she says. "And...true."

[Zman]

The playful scene of two adventuring woman got quite abit of passing glances from patrons, who grew in number as the evening passed along. Some were renting rooms and the inn was filling.

Miriam

Miriam walked in and glanced around the Inn, her eyes alight looking for her traveling companions, a ling slender bundle wrapped and slipped into her belt.

Natalia spots Miriam first, happily waving over their cleric and asking, "Your sermon? We got spells."

[Zman]

Miriam

"Children are exhausting...I hope I managed to do some good with them...

"...Badly? Any good today?"

[Athedia]

"What did you buy?" Mithril gestured to the bundle in her belt.

[Zman]

Miriam

Miriam takes a seat, "An aid for Divine magic..a simple stick so blessed that it can heal our wounds and save our lives."

Natalia throws her hands up and all but shouts, "Yes!" at Miriam's purchase. After a second she blushes and seems to shrink down into her seat.

"Got crossbows," says Natalia. "No more sharing against spiders!"

[Athedia]

Mithril waved the serving girl over. "Can you bring my friend some bread and cider?" Upon seeing the girl coming back Whiskers stopped playing and picked up the coin again.

[Zman]

The young woman brough another mug of cider, placing it in front of Miram, and reluctantly holding her hand out for Whiskers.

[Athedia]

Whiskers dropped the coins into her hand, pick each one up from the table to do so. When he was done Mithril started scratching him absent-mindedly behind his ears.

Still chuckling at the antics of the little weasel, Natalia asks, "How did you meet?" She also breaks off a piece of her bread and hands it over to Miriam.

[Athedia]

"You know the story, girl meets boy, boy hurts weasel, girl rescues weasel, parents say no, girl turns brother's hair pink, parents say yes, girl fixes hair, girl keeps weasel, weasel becomes familiar. Same old story been told a thousand times."

After several minutes of blinking, Natalia says, "...Pink?" And then, quietly to herself, she stares at her hands and says, "...The boy?"

[Athedia]

"Got off with a broken nose. I would have done worse to him if his parents hadn't stopped me." Mithril's face grew distant and angry, her eyes, an odd gray already, grew steely. She could not stand people who abused those smaller, weaker or gentler than them.

Natalia instinctively draws back a bit. It's usually not a good idea to interfere with someone in that type of mood, especially if they can set you on fire with a few hand gestures. But still, Natalia places her hand over Mithril's and looks up at her, soft brown to steely grey.

"Deserved it," she says. "...He, I mean. No hurting little weasels," Natalia amends after a moment.

[Zman]

Miriam

"Manywho are strong prey on those who are weak, it is the way of this world, as it is the way of good perplex to balance such injustice with right action and good intent."


Miriam's face sets with her conviction, be believes it is her duty to help and protect those around her who cannot help themselves.

"Still in preacher mode?" Natalia jokes. Actually jokes. She must be getting really comfortable with her new friends.

[Zman]

Miriam

"Always dear Natalia, always..."

[CoffeeIncluded]

"Yes, but, preacher and...Preacher." Natalia waves off whatever she was going to say next. "Did it sink in? How's food?"

[Zman]

Miriam

"Those children have me in a mood.....I hope so, for their sake. But you can only lead a horse to water, not make them drink."

Miriam is visibly exhausted from an emotionally trying day.

After taking a couple of bites, "Nourishing..." between mouthfuls.

"They have to drink eventually," Natalia says in an attempt to comfort her.

[Athedia]

Mithril's eyes soften, "Sorry if I scared you. She sat looking at the table for a bit, before starting eat again.

[Zman]

Miriam

"Will you two get a room?"

Miriam continues eating with obvious hunger.

"We'd better before th Inn fills for the night." She adds between mouthfuls of food.

Miriam

"Will you two get a room?"

Natalia flushes nearly incandescent before the actual meaning of Miriam's sentence becomes clear. "...Y-y-yes," she stutters as she gets up and walks over to the innkeeper to request a couple of rooms.
