Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
For some reason I just assumed she'd hand it to Daranand, or possibly Captain Underpants, but I never said so.
Let's do that now, while she's got a large, muscular beast between her legs. Wis penalty and all.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Hmm, I hope that I'm not derailing Daranad. I'm trying to play him as he came across in EE's posts.
Anyway, does anyone else want to take Daranad for a bit, or shall I keep on with him for a bit?
Edit: Checked our character sheets, and I can't believe that only one of us brought any rope! Well at least we've plenty of rations and stuff to light fires.
Edit 2: Wait, did any of us actually look at the bag itself that the items came in?Last edited by Wordplay; 2012-08-06 at 04:21 PM.

No, I haven't. In fact I was considering dropping him a PM. I think that he mentioned being quite busy with work though, so that's probably it.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
I've long since resigned myself to nobody else buying rope.
And again, I apologise for Verossa jumping down everyone's throat, but really:
No woman under 30 likes to be called "Madame"
No one likes to be called "My Dear" by somebody shorter than themselves.
"My Lady" might have been borderline OK. It's still inappropriate, when addressed to a whore's daughter in front of an aristo, but she'd have let it slide if it wasn't for everything else.
In the paraphased words of Rae Dawn Chong; "I can't believe this faux-chivalrous bullsh*t" And I'm a guy who likes action movies.Last edited by Marlowe; 2012-08-08 at 12:06 PM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Marlowe: Eh, no worries on my account. Raif's trying to be courteous and egalitarian, but he'll be careful from now on.
Raif will certainly chip in for extra supplies - he doesn't really value money, so he's pretty generous with it when he has it. (Since I didn't mithrilise all my gear, Raif's got quite a bit left.)
I checked our sheets and I think we're fairly well off for miscellaneous equipment. We seemed to have about three different ways of making fire, lots of stuff to burn, and so much soap! A bit more rope'll go down nicely.Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Marlowe: My apologies, I'll stick to just calling you Verossa then? It just seemed polite IC.

@Arranis: The odds of meeting devils? Practically certain if we don't buy the silversheen, quite unlikely if we do.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Yes, I did.
What other items did we discuss getting? Was there anything else we wanted besides rope? (and that silversheen. We are SO going to get that now. )

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Seriously, aside from maybe some towels, blankets and spare rope, I really can't think what we might reasonably need. Checking our sheets, we had about 3 days food for 6 people before we got the rations from Talhruamy, a tent, 6 bedrolls, 7 waterskins, 3 pounds of soap, 4 fishooks, a crowbar, a portable ram, a healer's kit, 2 disguise kits, several tindertwigs, ever-burning torches, sunrods, 2 flint and steel, 10 candles, 5 pints of oil, 5 alchemists fire, 6-7 potions of cure light wounds, six or so wands of various sorts, including cure light wounds, and funnily enough just one towel and one blanket - between 6.
As for suggesting more things to buy, I'm starting to worry we'd discussing it that we're designing the random encounter table. I think Raif could do with a few good books, though.
I'll be so annoyed if someone pinches our gear after all this.Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
[strike]Okay, I'll buy myself a blanket for sure then. (I thought I already had one, reviewing it now proved I didn't ) [/strike] And you took care of that IC, thank you very much.
I'll also ask around for 'used' magic items, those probably ought to be cheaper than the new ones.Last edited by Arranis Thelmos; 2012-08-09 at 10:22 PM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Ok guys, I'm back, sorry for being away, and thanks for putting up with my absence. Schoolwork had been piling up.
Looking over the conversations Drayner wouldn't have really had anything to say other than revealing his inventory, so consider the contents known.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Just so you all know, I'll be away this weekend, so my posting may be a little sporadic.
@Arranis: No worries, Raif will get the blankets and towels - he just needed to know in character that you'd need blankets and towels.
I have this vision of you returning from that shopping trip.
'Look guys, fifty used wands!'
'That's great, how many charges?'

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
I wouldn't say a life of banditry is all that "Miserable" a nice concept really... would the cult of Asmodeus care about wiping out a group of bandits? Or might we get into a business relationship?
We shall call ourselves the Ruberia Bandits (unless someone else has a better name)

@Marlowe: Halabur is at a totally different merchant now, that's why I put it in a Spoiler with his name attached so you (hopefully) didn't get it confused with the main flow of conversation with Enderic.
Did Verossa follow Halabur to the Gnome's tattered little tent?

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
....sorry, I'll be good.
To be perfectly honest, I am, as a player, completely not bothered with mundane supplies. That's why we keep G along. Because it's the only thing he can do.
But Verossa would like having some axes and the like. It's an odd situation where the only player who seems to be thinking about such things is the one who generally doesn't care.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
We keep G around for other things as well... I think... Possibly not .
All mundane supplies (eg: food, blankets, tool kits, clothes and the likes) are there, all you have to do is make a list for one of you to hand over and I'll work out the price and blah blah blah...
As for alchemical supplies, I'm going on a 'roll-per-item' basis as I don't think very many merchants would travel with wagon loads of alchemist fire/acid/tinder twigs and those sorts of things... Kinda risky going over bumpy roads and trails.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
You need to do a pirate campaign, where he's the ship quartermaster. And is kept so busy by that that he never notices how horrible his character is.
Mine would be something like--low-level wizard (WIZ 1), captured by pirates, forced to do whatever to survive (Human Paragon 3) learned to fi in with the rest of the crew and enjoyed it. (Swashbuckler 3).
It wouldn't be optimised, but it would be fun.
Anyway, a couple of axes, a couple of saws, a couple of hammers and some nails. That's all Verossa's looking for. She's simply not got a craftsmans background.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Malakai: So please could we have
5 winter blankets
5 lengths of rope
6 towels (Raif doesn't know about Eleanor's towel)
10 pints of oil
Misc woodworking tools (couple of axes, a few nails, a hammer, a couple of saws?)
and if possible the books that Raif's after.
And if there's anything else ask Raif (IC) or post here, and he'll pay for it (within reason).
Edit: Oh, and let me know if I need to make any checks for Raif. Thought maybe Charisma and Bluff might be possible. Raif Clearsight's not telling any untruths, but he is putting over a somewhat false impression of himself (he is sincere in his offer to pray, and to pay).
Does anyone else want to play Daranad for a bit? I've had him for a couple of weeks now.Last edited by Wordplay; 2012-08-13 at 10:38 AM. Reason: Avoid double post

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Sorry if my last few posts have been a bit short-tempered. It's been more a matter of timing than actually being annoyed at anyone.
And thanks to Wordplay for playing quartermaster because that would be a really tedious thing to manage from a Chinese public computer.
