Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
You're welcome
I think that we'd better go for the silk, but I might pick up a little of that Elven weaved just for the novelty value.Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Okay, would a candle of truth be worth the investment? How much gold do we have between all of us? Halabur has a little more than five hundred.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
How much do they usually cost? I'm guessing that they disspell illusions, and act like true-seeing. Raif has about 1200gp, but he's paying for the mundane stuff first. I also need to find out how much this 'elven corded' costs.
First, I'd quite like to get those books. I want to take the language next level, assuming I'm allowed, and I need a way to justify it. (Beyond, killing all those goblins gave me a sudden insight into their grammar!)
Depending on how much the books cost, I guess that Raif could chip in 600-800 for the candle and silversheen, etc, but I'd like to get the books first.
Actually, joking aside, it's probably not a bad idea to pick up some formal clothing for disguises, etc.
Maybe Raif should buy six sets of dresses so we can disguise ourselves as wandering washerwomen.
@Malakai: Raif's not bald! Not even tonsured. I know I didn't give a detailed description of him, but I did describe the colour of his hair. I guess some of the illusion magic must not have worn off yet.Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
The Silversheen is only 150 gold, easily in my range. I'm not sure we ought to go for the candle anymore anyway. It kinda looks like it may only be able to be used once. Besides, Verossa may be able to get the truth out of anyone with her 'Hammer of Ortificial Truth'.
And YES, we are SO calling it that now!

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Seriously, The plan for Verossa is to pimp her for Intimidate...that came out out wrong. To focus on her Intimidate skill, but that'll take a few levels to come together, since Hexblades have lots of cool skills but very few skill points.
One thing she doesn't have is Sense Motive, so she will eventually be able to scare the truth out of people, but she'll need a good cop to tell her when it's time to stop.

I'm focusing on Spellcraft and Knowledge Arcana. I'll be a walking magic dictionary.

Captain Underpants-Mon I choose you!

Also, I'm confusing Digimon and Pokemon. What? I like Black Lagoon and Nanoha.Last edited by Marlowe; 2012-08-15 at 10:37 PM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Marlowe not get Shonen references. Unless they're Slayers. And making Slayers references while playing D&D is completely redundant.
Speaking of which, is Lord Pointytemper going to be a total Xellos? And who's our Martina?

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Thanks for the update! Just wondering for my character sheet, how many books does Clearsight get, how much do they weigh, and what's the length and weight on the elven rope?

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Wordplay: The books are 1lb each and he gets 2, one for orcish and one for goblinoid. The Elven rope comes in 20' coils (as per the Arm's and Equipment Guide) and they weigh 5lbs per coil.
Remember, learning a new language cost 2 skill points.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Think we'll go with a nice green for Raif's punishment, for that Shamal look:
Spoiler
Not that he's badass enough to pull off Shamal, but hey, he can lie and cheat and deceive. While she thinks a trenchcoat and darkglasses is a good disguise. Indoors. While being a tall blonde in Japan. So let's call it a wash.Last edited by Marlowe; 2012-08-16 at 06:02 AM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
He's got Verossa approaching him with a smile and a pretty dress. And Jemima. This is a stressful situation.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
I'm going to be an godmodding godmoder who godmodes for once and just assume he acquieses. Cause if he doesn't, Verossa was perfectly serious about the alternative, and that would be slightly less funny.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
If you can manage to get a dress on over plate mail, surely Raif's going to take a DEX penalty?
The alternative really wouldn't bother him much either, but it is much less amusing.Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Check the dress she chose. It's practically a surcoat.
There's a certain chain of restaurants with a "Swiss/Bavarian" theme in South Korea that force this style on their waitresses, and the result is sad. Because a style that's designed for big central european woman who can handle five steins in one hand completely overwhelms the average Korean teenager, and gives you the impression that they're suffocating under the weight of the ensemble.
EDIT: And seeing as I'm bored. Consider how many times before Verossa might have used the phrase "Fighter, do something".
Or, for that matter, "I'm pretty sure that doesn't go there".Last edited by Marlowe; 2012-08-17 at 10:38 AM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
You're seriously considering robbing a shopkeeper, with two lawful martials watching?
I don't think a pretty dress is going to cover this. Better see if they have a dominatrix outfit.Last edited by Marlowe; 2012-08-18 at 07:57 AM.
