Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Arranis: Raif would've been cool with it, and if you want to buy more stuff, he'd chip in.
Edit: Incidentally, at the price quoted, Halabur and Raif could buy the lot.
Edit: No they couldn't. Missed a zero there. No way the party could afford more than one or two of those.Last edited by Wordplay; 2012-08-18 at 01:04 PM.

Personally I quite like that ring of sustenance, or that Amulet of Health.
I think ask the merchant the individual prices, then we can decide.Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Just to get things moving along, the individual prices are straght from the DMG, the cheapest being about 1500gp going up to 4000... I know it's a bit mean flashing them under your noses but I rolled randomly for all but the mummified hand.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
OK, so we could probably just about make the cheapest, if we pooled three or more people's funds. At this point, it's probably not worth it, and we should keep back a little gold for spending.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
IC or OOC? I wasn't aware I was making anyone upset.
I guess as I said today "I carry a lot of arcane knowledge, but it seems I lack common sense. For that I do beg your forgiveness, and promise I will actively strive to improve myself in that regard."
I'm sorry if my behavior was upsetting anyone, I'll try to fix that.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
IC, just roleplay-wise, everyone wanting to get moving, and your character doesn't seem too... just warning you that the rest of your party is very dangerous if provoked... not looking at everyones equipment.
I didn't mean anything by it, it was just Halabur was making comments that seemed to want him to get beaten "hehehe, he said wazoo" that would be very annoying, like laughing at an important speech.
You did say that if the guy heard screaming it meant the deal was off, and I thought that was what you were trying to achieve.
EDIT: I meant it as a way to complement you on getting close to what I thought you were trying to achieve.
ok... now time for an IC post.Last edited by D_Man_7733; 2012-08-19 at 09:29 PM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
We need a scroll or wand of dominate monster and make his pony eat him ... then sell the gnome eating pony to bandits... or keep him for our own banditry wishes .
We will buy many ponies and teach them to eat gnomes... THAT must have been why there were no gnomes in LOTR, they were all eaten by ponies.Last edited by D_Man_7733; 2012-08-19 at 09:51 PM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
I hate to tell you this, but Tolkien used "Gnome" as a alternative term for "Noldor" (High Elf) in some of his early drafts.
And then he threw the term out for being too bloody silly.
So, Gnomes. Officially the fantasy race that Tolkien couldn't find a way to make respectable. God knows why they're in the game.
And yes, I've read plenty of fantasy novels that weren't LOTR. And none of them had gnomes.Last edited by Marlowe; 2012-08-19 at 10:05 PM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
I miss Darklands, fighting Kobolds (magic-using badasses) at the bottom level of 14th century German mineshafts with a party of angry disgraced former Nuns.
The Divine Magic in that game was really complicated.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Ok, by the looks of it, it's Verossa, Eleanora, Drayner, Daranad, Raif then Halabur. Have I read it correctly?
Also, D_Man... Master of Tables, I like it! And there's always room for things to help keep track of things like this.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
I'm getting this as our general marching order at the moment:
{table=head] | A | B | C | D
1 | |Ve| | |
2 | |Dr|El|||
3 | |Da| | |
4 | |Ha | | |
5 | |Ra | | | [/table]
I think that's about right. (Verossa on point, Drayner Behind her, Elanora following slightly behind as well, Daranand in the middle, and Halabur at the back? just waiting on Raif's or Clearsight's... or Raif Clearsight's... does anyone know which? )Last edited by D_Man_7733; 2012-08-22 at 02:11 AM.

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
Eh...Raif Clearsight's at the moment. Sorry to be the last one. Will post IC in a moment.
@Malak'ai: Can we use the spot and listen rolls I made earlier? That's what I was intending to use them for - passive checking on our ride.
Wait a minute, don't the horses get a spot check too? I seem to remember a webcomic about that...Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Arrains: About what time is Halabur looking at the sky? When the shadow goes over or after you reach camp?
@D_Man: Could you re-do your roll here? I don't know why it does that sometimes.

Sure thing, I didn't even notice it sometimes I dons't look at my rolls just to enhance role-play, or because I'm lazy

@Marlowe: Huh, which genres do you think for each one?
@Malak'ai: Is it just before sunset, in which case we have plenty of light to see with, or just after sunset?Spoiler

Re: A Thorn In The Hand OOC
@Wordplay: It's about half an hour after sunset, but there is enough residual light to see. Mostly you will be seeing in tones of grey, without being able to make out fine detail, but you'll be able to tell if your about to walk off a cliff.
