Grym follows Melanie and Bellamy towards the little boat. I'm not sure about this. It doesn't smell right. Even a wounded enemy could still be dangerous. At least they ain't giants. I hate giants. "Melanie, keep your distance. We still don't know anything about them", Grym says as she nears them.

Barty gets up from tending to Larry and looks over to Grym and mutters a thoughful "A woman after my own heart...".

"She's right. We shouldn't approach until we've had time to asses the situation. Larry, follow me."

"But they could be hurt!" Is Melanie's only reply as she moves toward the two somewhat stunned crew-members of the small craft.

Ahhrgg...stupid mistake. I'm hurt, but I'll be ok.
When the small child dashes up to the ship, Maia draws her bow, knocks an arrow, and points it directly at the child's forehead. "Who are you, what are you doing, and where are we? ANSWER! NOW!

"I'd rather not add you to the list of causalities."

Melanie blinks for a moment as the arrow is placed very close to her forehead, and then glares at Maia. "I'm trying to help you! My name is Melanie. Why did you crash? Are you ok? Is your friend all right? How am I meant to know where we are, I'm 13! "

As she speaks, her gloves hum slightly, small shards of glowing crystal forming in her hands.

"And why do you have an arrow pointed at me? I'm only trying to HELP!"

"Maia! We aren't going to harm a child just because your feeling trigger happy after that drop. Calm down for a minute and try to put yourself in their position. We literally just fell out of the sky on their encampment."

A tall dragonborn with shining golden scales, kind silver eyes, and powerful wings stands up from the wreckage. He has a hand a half sword on his belt, a shield strapped to his back, and is wearing a breastplate.

"I am Erin Lantin, and this is my friend Maia. Sorry about crashing into you like that. We're crew of the airship The Lady's Gambit. We were sent on a scouting mission, but had some trouble with the controls of the craft. Who are you? We were under the impression, or at least I was, that we were in a no-man's-land."

Erin projects Aura of Vigor, including the strangers, himself, and Maia in the effect. (Fast Healing 1, only heals to half hit points.)

He draws his sword. "A dragonborn?! That wouldn't happen to be a ship of the law, would it?"

Though, with a name like that, probably not. Still couldn't hurt to be the one asking questions here.

[Space Lawyer]

Maia lowers her bow, but does not put the arrow away. "I suppose you're right." She continues to eye the strangers warily. The kinds of people, or rather, things, one finds living in this sort of place are not to be trusted. We're outnumbered though. We can play along for now, and escape later.

[Techwarrior]

Erin snorts, a spurt of flame jetting from his nose. When he replies a small chuckle colors his voice.

"It wasn't when we left, and I sincerely hope it doesn't become one while we're gone. Some of us actually worked for a living before we joined the crew."

[hoverfrog]

"So they're not chasing you?" Bellamy's paranoia is reduced slightly, "So what brings you here to this gods forsaken place?"

As Bellamy asks his question a piercing howl echoes from the sands around you.

Another howl sounds, closer this time. Over one of the dunes, you see a monstrous shadowed hulk approaching. And another. To the other side another hulk approaches as well.

Where is Rok? This damn illness is spreadin' like a plague...

I should ha' just sent down a diving balloon, but tha crazy engineer had ne'er e'en heard o' one.

'Ready some canvas, rope and spare sail Master Wainwright, and fetch the chandler'.

Just as Kieran begins the preparations to recover his lost crew, everyone on the ship stops dead for a moment. Looks are exchanged as they an eerie blood-chilling howl.

The duskblade gives the dragonborn an incredulous look. "Listen, I am going to level with you. I am ready to stab to you if you pose a threat to this team. That being said, I consider these things less peaceable than I."

"I propose we deal with each other after these creatures, whatever they are."

The Dragonborn seems to be unphased by your threat. He radiates confidence.

The nearest pair is 20 feet away, having sprung up suddenly. The Second group is only slightly farther at 35.

"I'll summon something to hold the two on the left at bay. I won't have control of them after they appear so stay clear," Bellamy concentrates on his connection to nature. Screeching like a bat, at the edge of hearing, he begins to summon a swarm of bats to blind and attack the creatures threatening us.

Summon swarm (Bats) at B10 or wherever the demons are when I finish casting. The swarm will cover a 10' space so I'd like to catch two demons if possible, more if they're stupid enough to form up together in a nice neat block. If they spread out like clever beasties then I'll catch the lead one or if someone engages them in melee the one(s) who aren't in hand to hand.

Bruce takes a 5' step towards Bellamy who then takes a move action after casting his spell to get in the saddle.

Bats, big and black, burst up from the sand, engulfing the two demons nearest them.

The demons swat at the bats, leaving some of them dazed, others dead, but the Demons emerge from the swarm unharmed.

Melanie steps away from the approaching demons, light pooling around the shards of crystal in her hands.

"Light, fly true."

She whispers, raising both hands to face the demons. Light flashes, burning two lines of light across the space between her and them, and two shards of razor-edged crystal lance out at the dark creatures.

"And gift strength to the wounded."

She gestures at Grym, a translucent shell of light forming around the catfolk.

Aimari looks down as flashes of light streak from one of the smaller specks towards the large, dark creatures. That certainly looked interesting...It was a shame they were so far up and couldn't aid them yet. It would be a shame if everyone down there died before she could find out who had been creating that light.
