    It's begun!

Gaspar had a dream. Airships in the north. The Technists guild was brought in to help, for could make no progress for nearly a hundred years. Yet today is the day that changes! Today is the first step on the road to Gaspars dream.

Near the tower, it's almost as if a festival is occuring. Food and drink are handed out, and there is a sense of great cheer. And then the unveiling occurs.

Standing nearly six foot tall, and more closly resmling a bear then a man, is the one the guild affectionatly calls the "Clockwork Bear". Several scientists are standing near him, as are some of the prominant artificers of the foundry.

"Brothers, Sisters in Artifice, we've worked hard for this, and we know it's not over. But Lets have a good time! We're working hard, our projects are going well, but lets say why your all really here!"

With that, he flips a switch, and the Balloons starts to inflate, pulling the basket up.

"Everyone gets a ride, because it belongs to all of you! This is the begining! Soon, we will be able to ply great airships across the sky, as mighty as any in the south! No, stop listening to me, and have fun!"
Power restored for christmass. I'm back!

Thank you for keeping us appraised of the situation in Sav Altulas. We will be dispatching a team of operatives to the city to investigate the matter of this "black box" mentioned in Deplorian's letter--from the (admittedly brief) description, the aforementioned item sounds disturbingly similar to the standard Veras method for transporting engineered plagues. While the Veras City Council has issued a strict ban on the creation of such agents, Deplorian has been known to ignore the wishes of the Council upon occasion. Keeping such an item out of the hands of the Lord Protector is essential. As for the other items mentioned, we do not know what the "Ember Prototype" might be, but we do recognize the other two. Demonmouth guns are, at their heart, pumps that are used to spray flaming liquid on targets, and are notoriously unreliable. We would guess that Deplorian wants to limit their use to discourage fires from starting in the city. The mutagens are more interesting, to us. Classically, they would be used to magically alter the body of an individual, making them stronger, faster and more resilient, along with other possible side-effects. Why Deplorian does not want these particular ones to be used is a mystery to us, and worth possible investigation.

While our operatives are in the city, we would be glad to take a look at the devices you have recovered. Perhaps we will recognize some of them. Lord Agent North will contact you once he and his team have reached the city--he will probably be using a different name, so keep an eye out.

Dr. Vassari's grim expression was concealed by his bandages. People who knew him well, would have known how he felt. Were there any people who really knew him? He wasn't certain. He crossed that invisible boundary, that divided one neibhorhood from another. That made people living just a few steps away from each other into enemies.

    Letter to Peacocks [6]

''The operation was a success. Perhaps the last gang could be persuaded to join ranks with us, but that choice would be up to you.''

''I’m planning to invest in making Little Zanchar into a more attractive destination for visitors. An idea came to me – why not work with them to promote the virtues of our District. The more people come to Little Zanchar, the more of them pass through Elfwatch or Painted Court. In fact why not advertise all three neighbourhoods jointly as able to satisfy three different hungers of flesh. I can see additional coin, if your girls lead their clients to dine in new establishments of Little Zanchar and lead them to spend more coin on expensive wines and foods. Additional coin from a special arrangement with owners of course.''

''I’m planning to spend at least [2 WEL] on advertisement for Triphage Unitma’s good parts (Elfwatch, Painted Court, Little Zanchar) and I’m trying to convince Little Zanchar’s Market Guard to chip in. A bit coin from you and we’ll greatly increase the number of visitors.''

To Market Guard of Little Zanchar [6]
    Spoiler
    Show

Dr. Vassari seated himself across the representative of the Market Guard.

''The main coin you receive comes from the visitors, interested in tasting your superb cuisine. However the reputation of our district has hardly attracted the masses of gourmets, considering the Old Jack’s Run situation and the opium dens of Elfwatch. However, that is changing. There is a truce keeping a tenuous order and Peacocks will soon change the Elfwatch into a more upscale operation.''

Vassari omitted mentioning, that he was responsible for both of those changes, but he didn’t doubt his counterpart knew about it well enough.

''I would like to propose a cooperative venture between Little Zanchar, Peacocks and myself. We can make Triphage Unitma attractive to the visitors from all over the town. A place to relax and satisfy various appetites of the flesh. If we make the streets safe, replace small food stalls with large, well-decorated establishments, adding musicians and dancing… raise the prices.'' Doctor Vassari practically murmured the last part. ''I think Little Zanchar could prosper. And I can see significant synergy. Food delivery to the new opium dens, ladies of the night escorting their paramours to newly opened centres of Zanchar culture to partake in expensive wines and delicious dishes. You can certainly make a deal with them for a percentage of the coin the man ends up spending.''

''I have [6 WEL] to invest in turning Little Zanchar into a jewel of our beloved city. Part of it would go to advertising to attract new visitors to the best parts of Triphage Unitma. I will take a percentage of profits that this would give you. Would you be interested?''

[For some reason I feel compelled to turn Triphage Untima into District of Vice.]

The Halls of Final Justice bristle with guards, cloaked in Grey and steel as the meeting to decide the fate of the city is set to begin. Guards watch the perimeter, and allow the VIPs and guards of the various factions through with a slight search to assure none of them were carrying bombs or other large area weapons. They are told to meet within the Regency Room, where Chief of Staff O'vail will meet them.

The meeting is now open. If you are sending VIPs, post them as soon as possible- and if you are late, then just assume you've been quiet thus far.

    The Meeting

A rather tall young man with a fashionable duelling scar on his left cheek walks up to the door. He is wearing simple, but clean clothes: white linen shirt, leather vest, linen pants, wood-and-leather sandals, a strip of black cloth tied around his forehead. In one hand he is holding a walking stick, lazily twirling it around his fingers.
He grins as the door guards stop him.
"Large weapons you say? That is rather a question of definition, wouldn't you say? This knife here?"
He presents one about eight inches long, pulled out of one sleeve.
"Many people would call that large. This one here, though?"
The second knife is more like a triangle of sharpened steel, less than an inch long.
"A mouse might call this large. Few humans would. Say, do smoke and stink bombs count as large area weapons? We should hurry this up, by the way. On my person I have, by the last count, 17 items originally intended to be weapons. And about 12 that weren't but could be misused in a lethal fashion by a scoundrel. And we wouldn't want to keep any of these important dignitaries waiting."

when Constantine Richter arrives, he is one of the few ambassadors present that isn't armed. It doesn't worry him much however, because the large orcs flanking him to either side are, with the largest weapons that they can get past the guards (they brought their entire collection, and then let the guards decide what they could bring in). Personally selected by Krodok from his company, Constantine's bodyguards were the elite of the elite, as far as the revolution was considered. After being allowed in, he heads immediately to the Regency room, waiting for the others to arrive.

    EBSA Meeting

The representative of the Order of the Wren arrives, his face hidden by a fastening of silk below his brown hood. On his chest, the heraldry of the Wren is embroidered. He comes with no guards, nor with weapons. He nods politely at the others present, but does not speak, entering the meeting quietly.

A group of Wardens, armoured and armed with swords, without any fancy trappings, escort a graying man with a brown uniform carrying several medals from previous operations to the meeting.

He salutes the guards, nods as they check him and his men for weapons and passes through quietly. Once he's inside, he starts looking over the other people present, letting no emotions show on his face.

The occasional poping of heated water, and the hi8ss of steam, hearlds the arrival of the Technists guild. Coming alone one a single Steamtrike, The "Clockwork Bear" (Matt Rosen), dismounts, and flips a switch. The bike shuts down.

When asked for weapons, he pulls out a assortment of pepper sprays, laughing gas cannisters, a stinkbomb, a steampowered chainsaw, a repaeting heavy crossbow, and several things even he dosen't know what the hell they do. He cheerfully hands them over, and asks the guards to show 'em to their freinds. He didn't bring them for trouble. Free advertising.

The young man continues talking to the guard.
"Oh, and this, of course." He pulls out a stack of leaflets printed on cheap paper, the ink rubbing off on his skin when he touches them.
"I mean, depending on your definition of "weapon" and "area"... these leaflets can do quite some damage. To people's reputations, for example. Does starting riots and potential revolutions count as an area weapon? Because I think some of these might have done that. So, you might want to confiscate these. Now, if you just give me a minute, I also have some backup leaflets strapped to my leg here, like this."
He talks and talks, pulling out an assortment of strange items as he goes on and unloading them on the guard.

Noticing some of the items that the blackfist representive is pulling out, Matt Rosen is almost pulled over. Tech... must study tech....

"Say, mind if I take a look at some of these? Haven't seen 'em in a bit..." The more annoying thing? He says it in a friendly manner, and sounds more intresting in the devices then anything else.

If not stoped, he will pull out his portable tool kit, and start probing and tinkering with some of them (No real effect, Exept he's a VIP worth 3 Technology, so he should know what he's doing."

(There won't be anything interesting in there, really, from a technological standpoint. Little tricks and harmless things, mostly. Smoke bombs, paint, a few prestidigitations, not much more.

Hm. for the sake of the RP, maybe he has some neat little mechanical things in there. Wind-up toys. Clockwork automata. Magic trick-toys. Anything to divert someone's attention for a minute.)

Witen seconds, the entire arsenal is dismantled, probed and reassembled.

"Eh, not much in those. These little smoke pbombs, damn ineffecint, made some adjustments, should last 23.21% longer. Those paint bambs were sloppy. The triggers had a estimated 64.523% failure rate, should be closer to 41.38% now. Those chemicals... you should see a chemist. Half of them don't even do anything, unless you mix them with the other half. The clockwork needs fine tuning. Most of the apprentices make these kinds of toys, and they make 'em in the pub. Good job take on 'em though."
With that, the tinkering by reflex Technist guild leader heads inside.

    EBSA Meeting

The representative from the Shipwright's Guild in Drydock is a broad-shouldered man with skin made leathery by water and sun. He arrives at about the same time as a small, oily man from the Hath Poisoner's Society in Dragonhead, though the two representatives make a point of avoiding each other afterwards.

Several prominent moneychangers in Changer's Row have either sent representatives or arrived in person. Once there, they accumulate in an orbit around Felix Urd, CEO of the Exchange.

The Captain of the Ambassadorial Guard of Embassy Row has arrived in person, accompanied by a handful of his trusted lieutenants. They spend most of their time glaring at a smirking woman who told the guards at the gate that she was here representing "The Andouir."

The Conductor, the secretive wizard who demands tribute from all who pass through Allscross, is (possibly) present. No one really knows what he looks like, so the man claiming to be him could very well be an impostor. Many present approach him, curious to finally speak to such a mysterious person, only to be driven away when they discover that he is, in fact, an extremely boring conversationalist.

At least a dozen people claiming to represent Guild's Row have been turned away at the gate after refusing to give up their weapons.

Davan Eldermoss, Editor-in-Chief of the Bookbinder's Guild, arrives in an elegant carriage along with several personal assistants.

A man and two women that everyone seems to recognize but no one acknowledges arrive together, each one wearing a peacock feather somewhere on their person.

A Dreumont representative is turned away at the gate for making unwelcome sexual advances to the guards.

The elders of the Wrekan family are all present, united in showing their support for the EBSA. Their hated enemies, the Hearthfeather family, are conspicuous by their absence.

Both the Silver Blood Gentleman's Association and the Evening Games Club in Silvathrian have sent esteemed members to the meeting. They are cordial enough to everyone else, but tend to stick to their own company.

It is known by all present that the Annosus Merchant's Society rep was only let in the door because he bribed the right people.

    Blackfist to the Legions [3]

    Spoiler

The fist would be fighting of the shackles some would place around the wrist, so that the fingers could then go about their own business again.

We have a simple goal. We don't want an organized city government. We want the people of the districts to rule themselves, at the lowest level. We want family clans, gangs, bands, schools, legions, whatever you want to call them. Not armies, bureaucracies and kings.

To that purpose, a series of decisive, united strikes will be necessary. Then, we can all go about our own business again.

Blackfist Brotherhood to the Poets [0]

But is fire not more inspiring than stone? Do poets not prescribe what lies in the hearts of men, the feelings that flicker and die like flames?

How free are the words, written in stone? Are they not bound in rigid blocks? Or, to use plain language: where you allowed to criticize your king? Were you allowed to write about feelings of pain and sorrow the populace felt, when the taxes rose and the food was gone? No. Because Kings write laws. Laws that serve them, not the arts. Art has to be free. A poet has to write about what is relevant, whether those in power want him to or not.

Words in flames may die, but they can die free, and burn bright while alive.

You may have what you want now. But make no mistake. Once the democrats have sold their power to the bureaucracy and this so-called King, there will be rules, regulations and boots in the streets. The gangs will fall eventually, one by one.

Keep in mind when dealing with those anarchists from the north factories that fists are most commonly used for crushing, striking, and feinting, and that this one is no different. They are agents of chaos and disorder, and have no plans to bring safety and peace to this city, only riots and death. If, instead of those miscreants, you chose instead to ally fully with a true government, much more support could be given to the Imperial Third - Anarchists, by definition, don't have the systems in place that allow aid to travel from one section of the city to the other like a democracy does.
