Ah, I've just bee perusnig this for a wile, it is nice to see the new faces. Makes me want to DM something for these folks. Seems most folks found this via OotS so i guess 3.5 is a safe bet

Hey, new to role playing in general, but I am a gamer (RTS, used to do MMORPGs, Warhammer 40k and Warmachine).
Just getting into my first pathfinder campaign in the new year, this seems like a great resource from what I can tell. Looking to build a battlefield control caster (Wizard, but leaning toward Witch for some reason...)
Two questions, if you'd indulge me:
At the risk of looking like an idiot, I can't seem to find a search function for the forum. Is it just disabled because I'm a new member?
I was trying to click on the link for a user 'find all threads started by this user', and it returned an error saying I didn't have access to this administrator function or that I wasn't registered. Again, is this something that will unlock later on?

Hello there, had a friend recommend these forums to me as a great place to post discuss, and participate in tabletop/play-by-post gaming. He said he never had enough time for then (and it was easy to get addicted), so I'm looking forward to at least a moderate time sink. Glad to see a welcome thread, and code of conduct clearly outlined, I'm sure it makes for a great community here and I'm looking forward to finding out first hand.

I signed up some time ago, mainly for lurking in the RP section to browse the manifold threads there. While knowing about the GitP site and forums from the OotS webcomic for several years, only the recommendation of a couple of friends from another RP-oriented forum and subsequent registration made me realize how well-frequented these forums are.
As such, I am looking forward to participating in/reading/maybe even hosting? interesting RPs in the future, who knows.
